Smitten Ice Cream, a popular Jewish-owned shop in San Francisco, closed after people vandalized the store with pro-Palestine graffiti and smashed the windows.
Look at the San Francisco Chronicle‘s headline. Cowards.
The monsters can’t even spell. They wrote, “FREE PALESTIEN” on one window. They smashed the rest of the windows and glass door:
A spokesperson from the police department wrote that at 2:49 a.m., officers from Mission Station responded to an alarm activation at the store, and arrived to find shattered front windows.
“When they met with the victim, they were able to determine that the business had been vandalized for unknown reasons,” the police said in a statement. No arrests have been made at this time.
It is not clear whether anything was stolen during the incident, nor is it clear whether the vandalism and defacement will be investigated as a hate crime.

As Mark Steyn says… the only thing that wanker cops don’t police is crime. I bet if someone scrolled “Juden” on the walls, the police would be looking in the address directory for a person by that name. Bringing in foreigners who don’t assimilate but demand subjugation wasn’t; a great idea..oops…. it’s not about mixing oil and water, but gasoline and water.
No, that is going too far. Smashed glass is not a symbol of anything; the vandals did not have Kristallnacht in mind, and have probably never even heard of it. They broke this glass for the same reason that vandals everywhere do so — because it’s there. That is also why the Germans did it.
Not to downplay all the flagrant antisemitism afoot now, but a lot of this stuff turns out to be the immature pranks of bored teenagers. A year doesn’t go by in Massachusetts where a whole town doesn’t show up for a candlelight vigil because some delinquent decides to spray paint a swastika on some wall.
True. The issue is those ‘pranks’ have their origins in the lefty, progressive worldview of oppressor v oppressed. Stores have insurance and in any event are operated by capitalists who ‘exploit’ their workers and consumers. The store is probably built on land ‘stolen from indigenous peoples’. Add in the background antisemitism that seems to percolate through the left. Altogether its potentially deadly combination. Especially so when we consider the bankrupt relativism practiced by they lefties b/c who are we or society to judge these sort of actions much less impose true consequences for them.

Sometimes. But often, as E Howard says, it’s just bored teenagers, who do not have a worldview, are completely unaware of all this lefty stuff that they would learn if they went to college, and are doing it only because they know it will get a rise out of people. And occasionally those teenagers are Jewish, and do it because they know it will get a rise out of their parents and grandparents. Often without knowing why.
And occasionally the perpetrator is actually a Jew trying to raise consciousness about antisemitism, just like all the other people who pull off hoax hate crimes.
Many of them learn it in K-12 and from the pervasiveness of the ‘narrative’ in our culture; TV, movies, music, on line. There are plenty of people espousing the mythology of oppressor v oppressed who never set foot in a University classroom.
If these folks ‘know it will get a rise’ then they at least understand how controversial using specific symbols and language are and made the deliberate choice to use them. IMO, this isn’t comparable to a group of HS students who throw toilet paper into the neighbors tree.

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but I don’t think she said anything when Riley Gaines was assaulted on campus at SFSU. I’m guessing she’s only speaking now because she is worrying about this becoming a concern for (Jewish) donators to the Democratic Party.

Mary, can we end the the “Pro-Palestine” headlines and descriptors? They are not “Pro-Palestine.” They are not trying to help “Palestinians.” Please show me any evidence of that effort. Call them what they are: Anti-Israel or Anti-Semitic. And there’s no such place as Palestine. Enough of this.
