Prof Glenn Reynolds to Law School Dean Noticing Campus Antisemitism: “Welcome to the Party, Pal”

“We who have been writing about this stuff warned higher education leaders for years that sooner or later there would be a reckoning, and that it would be a costly one for elite institutions in terms of lost donations, public support, and overall legitimacy. Well, that reckoning is here.”

Professor Glenn Reynolds recently channeled “Die Hard” character John McClane in his response to the Berkeley Law School Dean now just noticing his campus has an antisemitism problem.

Reynolds, along with Legal Insurrection and other independent conservative groups, has covered the increasingly toxic atmosphere in higher education for many years.  Reynolds cites 6 specific examples, which go back to 2002, of Jewish worship services being disrupted, Jewish students being pelted with eggs, and hate-speech directed at Jewish speakers and their audience….all on the campus of UC Berkeley.

As he says to UC Berkeley Law School Dean Erwin Chemerinsky: “Welcome to the party, pal.

….If Chemerinsky read my blog, he’d have known about happenings there, and elsewhere throughout the higher education world, that apparently are news to him.

Well, to be fair, deans have more important things to do than read blogs. On the other hand, well, welcome to the party, pal.

Pointing out the flourishing, toleration, and even encouragement of antisemitism in the higher education sector has largely been the function of “right wing” outlets. Mainstream and left-wing media (but I repeat myself) have had little desire to air the dirty laundry in public. And, anyway, they’re increasingly staffed with recent graduates from elite schools, steeped in Critical Race Theory, “decolonization” talk, and the like, who see this antisemitism (along with prejudice against Asians and “whiteness”) as natural and laudable, instead of as what it is, which is evil and un-American.

The truth is that support for antisemitism and mass murder isn’t an aberration for the far left that dominates American campuses now. As Ilya Somin notes, it’s baked in: “It’s rooted in a long history of defending horrific mass murder and other atrocities.”

We who have been writing about this stuff warned higher education leaders for years that sooner or later there would be a reckoning, and that it would be a costly one for elite institutions in terms of lost donations, public support, and overall legitimacy. Well, that reckoning is here.

Anti-Semitism has been with us for decades and no amount of msm blather will make it go away. The thing that has caused it to become an open and boastful position is the influx of Muslim migrants in the last twenty years. They have been raised with the hate Jew mantra and of course, Israel is an illegal state. To them being an anti-Semite is nothing to be ashamed of and in most cases something to be proud of. Why this question was not part of their vetting I cannot understand. There is no end to it as long as they remain here in large numbers. The Jews need to arm themselves and take a new attitude of “Hell no, not again!”.

Read Reynolds’s post again. Better yet, read Ferguson’s linked below. If it was just Muslim immigrants, then it would not be such a threat. It’s much, much more.

Indeed, the entire Left have revealed themselves to be blatant antisemites.

Remember this the next time they call you a Nazi.

I know there are others but Muslims are raised to hate Jews and to them, there is no evil in genocide. We have always had anti-Semitic groups in America but they have always been marginalized and ridiculed. Muslims on the other hand boast about their anti-Semitism and make no apologies for their actions. As their numbers have grown, so has anti-Semitism all over the world. You are wrong about Muslim migrants. They have no loyalty to the US and put Islam above all else. As a religion and life control of its members, they believe life begins at death. Think about fighting them with that as their belief.

Yeah, they are definbately late to the party … it’s hard to believe they haven’t noticed the rise of anti-semitism on their campus. Just as it’s hard to believe progfressive American Jews haven’t notice the same. A lot of denial going on. Which doesn’t change the situation at all.

Useful idiots always believe they are making themselves immune from attack by allowing this nonsense to happen. But once they are no longer useful they are always the first to be eliminated.

Chemerinsky was dean of UC Irvine’s new law school in 2010 when Muslim students disrupted Israeli ambassador Oren’s speech there. He rightly called it civil disobedience and not free speech at the time, but it’s hard to see how he could remain willfully blind to what’s going on for so long.

When John Eastman and Erwin Chemerinsky appeared on Hugh Hewitt, I always wondered how the latter became a law school dean because he always sounded stupid. I also bet he will not be a character witness for John Eastman because of his vehement hatred for Trump and Trump supporters.

Chemerinsky is the very example of a useful idiot.

All these Leftist idiots who thought they could court actual antisemites, racists, and monsters who revel in death, I have news for you. In the words of Mordo from Dr. Strange:

“The bill comes due.”

Always.

Dean Erwin Chemerinsky is, at a minimum, criminally negligent. Any idiot could see that antisemitism was growing in academic institutions. His failure to counter it means he is at least a co-conspirator with the bigots. Stupidity is no defense here. It’s more likely however, that he was more concerned with his career, place at the trough and need to look down on others. I’m sure he has good points, but, even if he acted in good faith, they don’t begin to make up for his willful incompetence and failure.

OT, somewhat, but I find it interesting that the English language has not come up with an equivalent term for Jew hatred that resonates emotionally like the word Islamophobia does.

Jewphobia? “Antisemitism” simply sounds too pallid and nearly respectable.

We can never kill the hatred that some feel in their secret hearts, but we need to make it socially uncool to express it.

It’s not the English language which came up with charged word to call people. It was the Left who did and it was all to mask their own hatred for traditional norms and values.

Whereas you have Islamophobia, there is no equivalent Christophobia.

Whereas you have homophobia, there is no equivalent heterophobia.

Whereas you have transphobia, you do not have cisphobia (cis is the slur Leftists use to describe normal people).

As you can see, the Left creates words to slander anyone who stands against their nonsense, but does not create or allow equivalent slanderous words to be created to call out their hatred of traditional norms and values.

The author/creator of the words “Capitalism” and “Capitalist” is Karl Marx. Again it is the left that defines everyone else…

For those who don’t know, Glenn has a family interest in this as well, since Helen, the Instawife, is Jewish.
