Legal Insurrection’s 15th Anniversary

Legal Insurrection’s 15th Anniversary

Fifteen years ago today was our first blog post. We will celebrate and have festivities at the appropriate time, but that time is not today. Bless you, our country, and the people of Israel, who are fighting for their lives against the enemies of civilization.

Fifteen years ago today was the first blog post at Legal Insurrection. So much has changed since I started that solo blog on Google Blogger.

Today was supposed to be a day of celebration of this milestone. We were going to have an online webinar and other festivities to acknowledge this achievement that so few other blogs have reached.

But we don’t feel that celebration is in order, given the brutal medieval death cult’s disgusting Nazi-like butchery of Israelis, which is not over. Our hearts and minds are with the people of Israel and with our own military which is in the region.

We will celebrate our anniversary properly and have festivities at the appropriate time, but that time is not today.

We are competely focused on providing you with ongoing and excellent coverage of the events as they unfold. We are working around the clock with all hands on deck. We are here to serve witness to these crimes against humanity being perpetrated by the enemies of civilization.

We also were going to have a 15th Anniversary fundraiser, one of our major efforts of the year. But that also is being postponed until a later date. You may consider donating to the following charities that help people in Israel and in the U.S. Navy and Marines:

American Friends of Magen David Adom (Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross)
Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (provides non-military aid to Israeli soldiers)
Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (assists active duty and retired Sailors, Marines and their families in financial need)

We didn’t want this milestone date to go completely unrecognized, so we are releasing the anniversary video we had prepared, walking through our 15 key milestones of the past 15 years.

Whatever our domestic political differences, we are all in this together, please let’s not forget that. We are all up against a common enemy.

Thank you for the past 15 years, we look forward to many more.

Bless you, our country, and the people of Israel.

I’m trying to recall when I discovered LI…

Wonderful. I offer my unending gratitude. Would love to know what LI’s most popular (or most commented) story was. I’m going to guess that it was the Derek Chauvin trial.

Frankly, I think you *should* celebrate. It’s because of writers/sites like yours that many can discuss and learn to see the little details in the bigger picture(s), even the ugly ones such as this recent atrocity.

I know I wouldn’t have been able to get through 2020 without sites like LI!

Your point is well taken. I’ve been here since 2010/11 and found the interaction between posters insightful, interactive and highly respectful. So many regulars that you become familiar with their style and perspective as is “The Gentle Grizzly” who opened with his post to opine here on the 15th Anniversary which goes back a ways as to not recall ???😅

Congratulations, Professor. I think LI was not quite one year old when I first found you. I don’t comment much these days, but I still read a lot of the news here. I’ve gotten a lot older and more cynical since then, but I still have hope the future can be better than today.
Keep up the good fight.

An excellent article from Bari Weiss: https://www.thefp.com/p/when-people-tell-you-who-they-are

Surely this will be enough, but alas.

Congratulations Professor. Outstanding achievement!

Professor Jacobson, you and your team have created an inimitable and valuable news and commentary source that is indispensable. Thank you to all of you for your work and all that you do to keep readers informed and aware.

Congratulations to Professor J and the LI team!

In the future, on the 30th anniversary, I think you’ll be including coverage of this moment in time. I truly think this may be a turning point. There could possibly be a substantial political realignment. I’m seeing quite a few disillusioned liberals who can’t believe many on the left would publicly support Hamas’ savage slaughter. Please continue to shine a spotlight on this.

The canary in the coal mine has been raped, burned alive, and beheaded.

We either successfully defend western civilization against the forces of evil, or we enter a long, dark period of chaos.

Congrats, Prof and team. Keep up the good work and don’t let the bullies and critics get you down.

Thank you professor, as well as all of your overworked team. All of your hard work is greatly appreciated.

In an increasingly narcissistic world, Legal Insurrection is blessed reaffirmation of what is sane and humane. Reading these pages are often like taking my own pulse – still here – still holding to the standard – and most important – not crazy yet.

Amen Brother, Keep up the good fight, we haven’t hit rock bottom yet but getting close…as the Woke Jacobins are starting to be exposed for frauds that they are and are starting to turn on each other…

Congratulations Professor
This is the first blog I started following daily and probably not much more than a year if that in from the beginning.
Took a long time to figure out how to get into the comments but still stop in a few times a day.

Congratulations to the Prof. and all of the staff. I am happy and proud to have been a member since near the beginning and look forward to many more years with my LI friends.

Congratulations. Very thankful for your hard, important work and reporting. Donated to American Friends – grateful to know somewhere to do that.

It’s been an amazing 15 years to be a part of and watching this blog grow to where it is now. I just left Hot Wire where they carried an article today. The growth is such you can pick up Prof. J. or staff writers articles on many nationally referred to sites and we also find Prof. J. being a requested person to be interviewed on current matters that are covered here. My best local memory while Prof. J. was residing in Ithaca he ‘took on’ here at L.I. a local candidate for 23rd Congressional in 2014 and published the Progressive agenda she had in mind for a strong Republican district. He not only opened up a can of worms for her, the reporting was picked up by the greater 23rd District media. This was just the 1rst, but not the last of areas that Dr. J. advocated for. The majority of who reside outside the sphere of Cornell and the County it supports.
A wonderful venture for L.I. and a testament to the values we all share.
Thank you Prof. J.

not sure when I found this place
think I followed a link from power line
really enjoy the place ,… thank you
and G_D bless ….

Congratulations Professor and the staff for 15 years of growth. I truly appreciate the opportunity to post here among a knowledgeable group of commenters. We do have some disagreements here over the path(s) to take but so far as I can see not much disagreement over recognizing the true problems and real threats facing our Nation. Like you, I hope we can all remember that none of us here are the enemy and will eventually unite to push back against the tide of totalitarianism that seems to be rising.

Congratulations and thank you for the effective video.

Congratulations! I discovered you by way of your superb reporting about the Gibsons at Oberlin. I’m not all that high on the knee-jerk comment section here, but LI’s posts are usually very good. Keep up the great work!
