Jewish Dad of Son Who Ripped Down Hamas Hostage Posters Denounces and Suspends Son from Job

Since the start of Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, we’ve seen a disturbing number of incidents worldwide of Hamas sympathizers tearing down posters concerned citizens put up about the hostages taken by Hamas.

One place that has seen an increasing frequency of this despicable behavior is New York City, where videos of college students and others unapologetically ripping down posters have surfaced.

Among them was a video taken of two people who have been identified as Noah Schaffer and his wife Kelly, who were both seen in one video being confronted by a woman who tore into them for allegedly taking posters down of children who had been taken captive by Hamas terrorists:

Kelly Ann Schaffer, as it turns out, has an arrest history stemming from a 2021 New Jersey Antifa riot:

And once Noah Schaffer, 41, was identified as the man in the video, it didn’t take long for his Jewish father, the owner and CEO of the company Schaffer works for, to send a company-wide email to Human Factors International employees. He denounced his son and notified employees that he had been suspended without pay for four months, during which time he is supposed to be reflecting on his actions and understanding that what he did was wrong:

“As has been noted, Noah is my son. He is not an antisemite nor a supporter of Hamas. I can attest that he has not acted this way at any time during his whole life,” Eric Schaffer wrote, according to the outlet. “He now understands that his actions were reprehensible, he is deeply sorry and regretful. HFI’s senior management team and I personally, in no way condone his actions today. We are placing Noah on unpaid leave for the next four months.””This will give him time to learn more about his Jewish family history, reflect deeply, and make amends. And after this time we will review if he can rejoin the company,” Eric added.Schaffer asserted that “there is no shred of support for terrorism” at HFI nor does the company condone ripping down posters of Israeli hostages.”We are horrified about the attack on Israel and worry about all the hostages,” Eric wrote, according to an email obtained by the outlet. “We in no way condone taking down posters or anything that reduces focus on their early and safe return.”

Another man who was caught taking down posters is also facing consequences from  his employer, according to The Daily Mail:

[Upper East Side financier Marc Louvet] was also filmed taking down hostages’ photos this weekend, and defended himself when confronted.

‘Where are the Palestinians? What about the Palestinians?’ he fired back when asked why he was removing the signs of the Israeli children.

VanEck, the investment management fund he works for, has since announced that he has been placed on leave, and will likely be fired.

‘We have just now been made aware of a video confronting an employee who had just town down posters of Israeli hostages in Gaza.

‘In no way does VanEck endorse such actions or statements, nor do we support the actions of terrorists in any way. Such insinuations are hurtful and damaging to the company and our

‘Israeli colleagues, family and friends. We are investigating the facts around the incident and our legal options concerning the employee whom we have placed on immediate leave and expect to terminate,’ the company said in a statement.

Here’s video of that incident:
