Jewish Dad of Son Who Ripped Down Hamas Hostage Posters Denounces and Suspends Son from Job
“We are horrified about the attack on Israel and worry about all the hostages. We in no way condone taking down posters or anything that reduces focus on their early and safe return.”
Since the start of Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, we’ve seen a disturbing number of incidents worldwide of Hamas sympathizers tearing down posters concerned citizens put up about the hostages taken by Hamas.
One place that has seen an increasing frequency of this despicable behavior is New York City, where videos of college students and others unapologetically ripping down posters have surfaced.
Among them was a video taken of two people who have been identified as Noah Schaffer and his wife Kelly, who were both seen in one video being confronted by a woman who tore into them for allegedly taking posters down of children who had been taken captive by Hamas terrorists:
WOW – a Jewish woman in Brooklyn confronts a couple removing posters of missing Israeli children kidnapped by Hamas terrorists.
Notice how the man cynically laughs at the Jewish woman.

Kelly Ann Schaffer, as it turns out, has an arrest history stemming from a 2021 New Jersey Antifa riot:
Update: The Brooklyn woman caught tearing down photos of missing children kidnapped by Hamas is Kelly Ann Schaffer. She was arrested at an antifa riot in Bergen County, N.J. in 2021 (photo below). And once Noah Schaffer, 41, was identified as the man in the video, it didn’t take long for his Jewish father, the owner and CEO of the company Schaffer works for, to send a company-wide email to Human Factors International employees. He denounced his son and notified employees that he had been suspended without pay for four months, during which time he is supposed to be reflecting on his actions and understanding that what he did was wrong:
“As has been noted, Noah is my son. He is not an antisemite nor a supporter of Hamas. I can attest that he has not acted this way at any time during his whole life,” Eric Schaffer wrote, according to the outlet. “He now understands that his actions were reprehensible, he is deeply sorry and regretful. HFI’s senior management team and I personally, in no way condone his actions today. We are placing Noah on unpaid leave for the next four months.”
“This will give him time to learn more about his Jewish family history, reflect deeply, and make amends. And after this time we will review if he can rejoin the company,” Eric added.
Schaffer asserted that “there is no shred of support for terrorism” at HFI nor does the company condone ripping down posters of Israeli hostages.
“We are horrified about the attack on Israel and worry about all the hostages,” Eric wrote, according to an email obtained by the outlet. “We in no way condone taking down posters or anything that reduces focus on their early and safe return.”
Another man who was caught taking down posters is also facing consequences from his employer, according to The Daily Mail:
[Upper East Side financier Marc Louvet] was also filmed taking down hostages’ photos this weekend, and defended himself when confronted.
‘Where are the Palestinians? What about the Palestinians?’ he fired back when asked why he was removing the signs of the Israeli children.
VanEck, the investment management fund he works for, has since announced that he has been placed on leave, and will likely be fired.
‘We have just now been made aware of a video confronting an employee who had just town down posters of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
‘In no way does VanEck endorse such actions or statements, nor do we support the actions of terrorists in any way. Such insinuations are hurtful and damaging to the company and our
‘Israeli colleagues, family and friends. We are investigating the facts around the incident and our legal options concerning the employee whom we have placed on immediate leave and expect to terminate,’ the company said in a statement.
Here’s video of that incident:

But, he clearly is. And his wife is a dirtbag who should still be rotting in prison from taking part in the Boy George 2020 insurrectionist riots.
The wife seems typical of the Manson family sort of chicks or the vicious, soulless, insane women of the Baader-Meinhof Gang.
“I can attest that he has not acted this way at any time during his whole life…He now understands that his actions were reprehensible, he is deeply sorry and regretful.”
Jeez, daddy… he’s 41.
Unless he’s a world-class cuck simp to his wife, I’m afraid that matzoh’s been baked.
he’s a world-class cuck simp to his wife

Watch as they’re walking away and how SHE holds his *ahem* hand in hers.
Your diagnosis seems likely. At this absolute best case the dude, at least on that day, allowed his lefty, antifa spouse to get him involved in woke stupidity. I find it hard to believe this was the first time and would give odds that his own beliefs are much closer to those of his Spouse. Actions matter, words are just talk.
That cannot be repeated enough.
It shows who wears the pants in that family.
You notice the son did not write an apology and the dad is making ridiculous excuses for him
No mention of the insane DIL
Four months. He’s hoping people will forget in four months.
Complete bullshit.
They’re always TEARING DOWN the Israel hostage posters.
They aren’t putting up alleged Palestine casualty posters instead (because most of them are provably fake).
No, they’re simply destroying the Israel ones.
Tells you everything you need to know about what this is really about.
The dad should disown his son, not just denounce him.
The son will choose the wife over the father. That’s how it usually works.
That’s really easy to say but extremely hard to do. If you have a son you know how hard that would be on you and your family. It looked to me like he was following his activist wife’s lead out of loyalty to her. I do not think he is an activist like she is from statements made by his father.
If only he had known that his future wife was a Fascist, he never would have married her. But since he did, he’s going to be loyal to her, Fascism and all.
Did I get that pretty close to right as to your view of the situation?
P.S. We have two sons (and a daughter) and there isn’t the chance of the proverbial snowball of their doing anything like this. Not the grandsons either. And hopefully the great-grandchildren will never be brought up to do such things or associate with such low-lifes.
The way he laughed at the owner of the poster and dismissed her, he’s had plenty of practice being a woke dick.
We also don’t know what is going on in the background.
The dad should have done a video of his idiot son over the knee being spanked.
More seriously, his response was perfect. But what of the wife? Seems like a real witch!
Hope more Jews open their eyes and see the actual dynamics. And maybe listen more to people that have been warning them of the climate of hatred against Jews that is now in the open, including from Jews and so-called friends that show more concern for Hamas.
Let’s add lefty, woke, progressives of every group to the list of folks who need to open up their eyes and their minds so they can see and understand the awful reality of evil.
But this is not about them because they are not the people being threatened. They are perpetrators, actually, wittingly or unwittingly. It’s about whether Jews can quit smoking.
It is about them though b/c the lefty, woke progressive ideology divides all of us into one of two categories; the oppressor or the oppressed. Eventually these woke, lefty ‘allies’ of the oppressed will find themselves on the menu. Better they realize it sooner than later IMO.
No, it’s about Jews waking up to their peril, not the woke people that are in no peril. That was what the comment was about, those in peril, not thos that are not.
The lefty, woke, progressive ‘allies’ of ALL groups are on the menu. Just b/c right now ‘Jews’ are the soup de jour of the mob doesn’t change that fact. Black owned businesses and other ‘minority’ owned businesses were burned in the BLM riots as one example.
Everyone will have their turn as the featured menu item b/c no one deemed as an ‘oppressor’ is ever granted a permanent exemption from the fickle whims of the mob. That isn’t to diminish the very elevated threat level at present faced by Jews but merely to point out that the target does get placed on everyone deemed an oppressor over time. Most of us on this side of the political divide understand that. The woke, lefty, progressive allies seem to think they get a pass based on towing the line of the largest narrative. They won’t.
No. Sometimes a thing is sui generis. Is that okay? The distinction was made and it applies. There is a fundamental difference. Otherwise, the comment would have been different in substance. Maybe on another day your response would be applicable in this context, but today, as the one who wrote the original comment, it isn’t. This was a message based on a threat that exists now, on the ground, for Jews, not an exercise in theory about the evolution of oppression that does diminish to what is in front of our eyes.
26,
My first post to your original comment was intended as an addendum to yours, not in place of your yours nor in opposition to your first comment. This is a comment section, folks gonna ….comment in response to each other. Sometimes in opposition, sometimes in agreement, sometimes with expansions, sometimes in full and sometimes in part.
The world is a big place and more than one group can be getting effed over at the same time. That doesn’t negate or diminish the very real suffering of any particular group. FWIW I agree with your first post but found it incomplete. Had those are ambivalent or less committed to woke narrative/identity politics from every group opened up their eyes and the minds before now to see and understand the evil inherent in those lefty philosophies we would be in a far better situation.
Perfect? Really?
Yes, although you do not have to agree.
The anti Jew Jews aren’t really Jews. They are progressive fascists who work towards building their fascist utopia. They don’t care about other Jews.
To paraphrase Gola Meir, “Jews will survive when they stop hating themselves more than loving their actual enemies”.
The same thing happened to the Prodigal Son when an old tweet was discovered.
Free speech is not tearing down the speech of others.
I couldn’t help but note that Daddy, very pointedly did not mention his son’s Shrew. That in and of itself is telling.
I am shocked at the identities of these two Hamas supporters. A 41 year old Jew??? What heart break for his father. And the other an East side financier, also middle aged. Both makinJewish hgostages … whom I fear we will never see again. I shudder to think how they are being treated, particularly the children.
The vile Jew-haters and allies/stooges/useful idiots/apologists for/of Muslim supremacists and terrorists are coming out of the woodwork, now.
The full ugliness and hypocrisy of contemporary Leftists’ and Dhimmi-crats’ loudly professed and alleged commitment to “social justice” and “anti-fascism” are on display, and, have been revealed to be nothing more than self-congratulatory and contrived window dressing and stage props.
Oooh, it’s going to be a very awkward Thanksgiving at the Schaffer’s. I wonder if Noah and his wife will be sitting at the children’s table.
As CincyJan put so well, “what heartbreak for his father” and also his mother.
Good riddance and good deciion making! Jewish anti Semites are the worst!
I need to score an invite to Thanksgiving dinner with these folks. It’s gonna be lit.
It seems that the best answer to avoid hiring an employee who won’t do such a thing like tearing down a poster over the war in the Middle East is to hire middle age white guys who go to church on holiday, weddings and funerals.
Can anyone offer an explanation as to why they are tearing down the hostages’ pictures? No matter their feelings about Israel, how does pulling down the hostages’ pictures accomplish anything? I wonder why they don’t put any Palestinian hostage pictures up? Oh, wait, there aren’t any!
I’m not entirely onboard with the condemnation of these people.
My personal rule on political/messaging signs:
If the sign is on private property, it’s treated like private property. Strictly hands-off.
If the sign was posted on public property (e.g., telephone poles), or posted by private persons on someone else’s property (e.g., on plywood panels surrounding a construction site), I have as much right (and possibly more, to clear trash from public property) to take it down (as an expression of my beliefs, political or otherwise) as did the person who put it up had to put it there. Both the posting and the removal are equally-valid expressions, but the poster has no right to post on what is not their own property. I have a right to express myself by taking it down, and a civic obligation to protect public and other people’s private property from what is a form of vandalism. I consider the signs “abandoned property.”
Fair enough as far as it goes. If this couple want to make that claim then they should be prepared to demonstrate they do that for every sort of sign; lost cats, free puppies, save the squirrels ….all of them not just posted photos of hostages kidnapped by Hamas.
I suspect they don’t share your across the board stance about pulling all posts/flyers down and instead decided that the hostage flyers alone were objectionable.
In being so subjective of the act in of itself, without qualifiers as was pointed out in a prior posting here, is a non starter. Everything you pointed out if it were taken from or in the form of a legal document, would have at least 10-15 noted exceptions of when this would not be applicable.
The most dramatic fallout of the Hamas murders is it has focused so many liberal Jews on the onjectivefact they have been supporting causes that are aimed at their destruction. I only pray it has not been too late. Please close your mouth s and pocketbooks.
