Israeli PM Netanyahu: ‘We are in…a War to Ensure Our Existence’

“This war was imposed upon us by a despicable enemy — by beasts who celebrate the murder of women, children and the elderly.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the nation in Hebrew on Monday, urging the opposition “to join a national unity government” without “preconditions.”

Israel’s government formed one on the night before the 1967 Six Day War.

Rumors floated that Netanyahu would announce a ground invasion of Gaza, but that did not happen.

But the prime minister listed five subjects Israel will deal with:

  • defeating terrorists still in Israel
  • preparing a massive offensive operation in Gaza
  • keeping other fronts quiet
  • continuing to recruit international support for the operation; and unifying the country.

I do not have the full translation just yet, but here are some I found at The Times of Israel:

Addressing the nation in a televised speech, his first public appearance since Saturday night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel is in a war to ensure its existence, and that the atrocities that Hamas has carried out have not been seen since the days of ISIS (Islamic State).

“We are on the third day of the operation,” he begins. “We are in an operation for the home, a war to ensure our existence, a war that we will win,” he says.

“This war was imposed upon us by a despicable enemy — by beasts who celebrate the murder of women, children and the elderly.”

“The atrocities carried out by Hamas have not been seen since the atrocities of ISIS. Children bound and executed with the rest of their families, young girls and boys shot in the back, executed, and other atrocities that I will not describe here.”

“We have always known what Hamas is. Now the whole world knows. Hamas is ISIS.”

“And we will defeat precisely as the enlightened world defeated ISIS.”

Biden paid for this to happen. I get that he has to kiss the ring for military support but this is sickening.

    What you wrote is true.

And, mention must also fairly be made of narcissist-incompetent, Obama, and, his utterly corrosive and morally bankrupt tenure in office. Because, the Dhimmi-crats’ indefensible and utterly shameful vilification of and hostility towards Israel, combined with their obsequious and slavish kowtowing to, funding of, and, enabling of, the Iranian regime, Fatah, Hamas, Hezb’allah, and the rest of the Muslim supremacist/terrorist rogues’ gallery, began in earnest with Obama and his acolytes — many of whom are prominently placed in the Biden Administration.

Keep in mind that Obama is responsible for bringing are more of these monsters into America than Henry Ford brought.

It’s the usual blow-stuff-up until the Palestinians are tired of it war, not exactly existential. Palestinians are gambling on favorable press coverage to save them this time.

Israel apparently blew up a mosque right away, as a sign of where this is going to go this time. It’s good to establish that early.

Maybe they will capture some hostages so they will have something to trade.

Palestinian warlords don’t even value palestinian lives.

No, best to embrace the reality that those captured folks are lost and work to punish the captors. By all means do the Intel work, stage rescue attempts if possible and absolutely demand their safe return as a non negotiable pre condition for any cease fire.

I understand search and rescue efforts are already underway and not just by Israeli special forces. There are supposed to be American captives as well. We can only hope.

The Israeli “hostages” are most likely already dead. Israel needs to go in shooting and keep shooting until nothing moves between Israel and the Med. Then keep going and destroy the rest of the Middle East.

They can’t bow to international pressure to show restraint after 3 or 4 week ground offensive. They literally have to finish the job once and for all otherwise this will happen again in a few years.

My confidence of this happening is low. I don’t know what it’s about the Jewish mentality of just giving up but I suspect that’s what will happen.

I haven’t seen anyone else bring this up, so I’m gonna, right here.

Those young people massacred at an outdoor festival? It was a festival near the Israel/Gaza border calling for peace.

Read that again.

Young Israelis attending a festival dedicated to peace between Israel and “Palestine” (really, Gaza; they are not “Palestinians”), were massacred en masse by Hamas terrorists from Gaza.

The takeaway lesson here is this: Hamas does not want peace, they want to kill Jews, and will go to impressive lengths to do it.

Peace requires two willing parties; war requires only one. Israel has made her intentions clear, and now so has Hamas, before a candid world.

There’s enough footage (but none that MSNBC will show) that anyone with two brain cells and an Internet connection can find the truth. There’s no credible way to hide, obfuscate, or refute it any more. That MSNBC is still trying to sanitize Hamas’ actions is, to put it mildly, disgusting.

YES….THIS..They want dead Jews. That is what their charter calls for..they will settle for nothing less.

Peace requires two willing parties; war requires only one.
Unless the one has enough power to end any war – then it only requires that one for peace.

    Si vis pacem, para bellum.
(That does not translate as “If youwant peace, carry a 9mm.” But it’s close.)

In the spirit of criticalrace.org and equalprotection.org, it would be great to see a spotlight on the Americans that propagate for Hamas. They need the publicity. Too many people are ignorant of the hatred that exists on the left, and minds are open. Let them expose themselves by their own words and deeds, their support of killing, rape, hostage taking, and mayhem. Just a suggestion for these pages.

I think what really pisses off the Western left is not just sympathy for “Palestinians” but equally the fact that ‘right winger’ Benjamin Netanyahu is PM. They can’t stand it.

Milhouse in reply to Whitewall. | October 10, 2023 at 1:31 am

And the ironic thing is that he really isn’t all that right wing. He’s Lindsay Graham, not Ted Cruz. He has a decades-long record of talking tough but giving the left whatever it wants.

It’s amazing that the highly credentialed top officials in the Biden Administration are blind to the Islamist mandate from Allah to subjugate the world to Islam. Being secularists, they don’t understand the power of religious conviction.

The thing is, I don’t really think the Palestinians are all that islamic about it. I think they just happen to be tribal savages bent on (and raised on) the idea of destroying their neighbor.

Now, I happen to think the rest of the Islamic world uses them as a tool because they see Israel as an affront to Allah. (And, really, they are. I say that as a good thing.) But I don’t think the Palestinians are as endeared of Allah as they are of simply destroying Israel and Jews.

Chess game.

What’s the play?… this reckless loss of lives is not the end game.

Iran wants the response it will evoke.
Iran wants the terror and I dare say they are wanting and expecting the resolve. For why? I can’t intellectually speculate. No player other than Biden makes a move w/out seeing the 3 moves after that.

TBH Israel should be doing more to hit the Iranians at home.

I’ll not hold my breath for my virtue signaling neighbors to change their Ukrainian flag for the Israeli colors.

Have derelict freighters off shore just north of Gaza.

Offer free transportation to any civilians to Iran who don’t want to be killed.

Iran is anti American and anti Israel so they should feel at home. This would be the reverse of what happened in Iran after Israel declared itself a state with hundreds of thousands of Jews forced from the nation they had lived in for centuries after riots in which Jews were murdered, raped and beaten. Their shops and homes looted and sometimes destroyed.

Obviously Hamas is going to try to keep them or many of them in Gaza as shields and Israel should use some discretion in trying to separate the wheat from the chaf.

Destroy whatever remains of Gaza. Obvious
