Hamas Barbarism “Worse Than What I Saw With ISIS” – U.S. Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin

Hamas Barbarism “Worse Than What I Saw With ISIS” – U.S. Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin

Prof. Eugene Kontorovich: “Perhaps the greatest mercy Israel is showing to Gaza is not releasing to the public the full details of what was done by the invaders to their victims. Ostensibly for the sensitivities of the families, but also I think because what populace would be able to restrain themselves?”

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is in Israel consulting with Bibi Netanyahu and IDF leadership.

Austin offered a statement on what he has seen as to the Hamas and other terrorist group conduct during their attack on Israel:

“I know a lot about ISIS, and this is worse than what I saw with ISIS.”

It’s becoming more and more clear that the beastly butchery was not only by organized terrorist groups. Hamas is trying to blame Gaza civilians who crossed the border. That’s just a way to try to excuse themselves from the crimes against humanity committed, but two things may be true: Both organized groups like Hamas AND Gaza civilians participated.

The IDF also is reporting that large numbers of Gaza “civilians” crossed the border.

This was a group effort.

And it almost certainly was far, far worse than has been revealed publicly. We know that Palestinian terrorists castrated an Israeli Olympian at the 1972 Olympics, and that rape and mutiliation was used in the 1929 attack on the Jewish community in Hebron (20 years before there even was an Israel.)

We can only imagine the barbarism that was inflicted during the attack and on the hostages taken back to Israel.

Perhaps the greatest mercy Israel is showing to Gaza is not releasing to the public the full details of what was done by the invaders to their victims. Ostensibly for the sensitivities of the families, but also I think because what populace would be able to restrain themselves?

More eyewitness accounts are leaking out, including a first responder who found a pregnant woman with her stomach area cut open and the unborn child pulled out of her body. (go to 1:30 of the video)

There has been a large campaign of denialism, in which photographic proof is demanded of Hamas’ crimes. Israel has very slowly started to release photos to the public — much more already has been shown privatedly to foreign journalists and officials.

It will not satisfy the deniers.

I have avoided looking at the gruesome photos and videos. As you say, “[B]ut also I think because what populace would be able to restrain themselves?”

You don’t need to look at the gruesome photos and videos. Just look at the news reels and photos from 1945 in Germany. Read the history of WWII in Europe and Russia. History often repeats itself. Austin maybe you need to take your head out of your DEI ass! I thought the service academies still taught history. Maybe their history only begins in the 70’s? FJB

Where is God?

I believe he had abandoned us…

I suggest you read Jude for some insight.
We have been here before, and His mercy will soon be a great tide that washes the land clean.

Calling these things barbarians would be a compliment. A more apt term would be subhuman savages.

Some ask is this the turning point finally? I would say no, only a hardening of both sides. A turning point can come slowly and in the form of a long arc. High profile people like finance guy Bill Ackman telling graduates that Hamas sympathizers will have no place in his company, Ivy League or no. More high profile people like him will join in and gradually these colleges and their youngsters will learn consequences. Same for too many of these university officials that stay silent or go mushy.

Beheading of trans and LGBTQ+ types would get attention.
Just saying this for BLM to get ahead of the curve.

Living is Gaza is bad with unemployment near 50%, poverty above 70%, etc. Humanitarian aid provided to Gaza often turns into weapons to attack Israel. The government there is failing, the people are suffering, and foreign aid is useless so why not offer each Palestinian $1000 each to be relocated to another country willing to take them and then eliminate Gaza and the entire cancer known as HAMAS. The only other options appear to be either genocide of those living there or endless wars with Israel. It’s not like Gaza is the most wanted real estate in the world.

And yet the citizens of Gaza that you say are suffering so much under Hamas rule are the same people that voluntarily and with free will elected, yes, elected Hamas leadership to govern them in 2006 when they began self-government in Gaza. So I have very little sympathy for them now 16 years later that they find themselves in such a horrible situation. After all, elections have consequences. Some more so than others.

Nor do we need to offer to “relocate” these arab terrorists. There are plenty already spread across the Western World. We don’t need more. That’s for darn sure.

The flip-side of that is, as you point out, it’s been 16-17 years. A lot of kids who grew up under Hamas are young adults, or getting close to it. They might have a different perspective now than their parents did in 2006 when Hamas was elected.

And it needs to be remembered: Hamas has maintained power by not allowing new, fair elections. They were elected once, and then shut down or rigged the process.

I’m of the mind that this younger generation currently has neither a choice nor a voice. Therefore, they should be given the chance to leave, or to elect new leadership. If they choose to stay or choose to elect Hamas again, that’s on them. But they must be given the chance.

And what country would be willing to accept them? I understand that virtually none of the other Arab and/or Moslem countries want them. They appear to be fractious regardless of what country they are in.

It’s not like Palestinians are the most wanted refugees in the world, either.
Honorable “wretched refuse” is welcome. The morally wretched are not.

As a Veteran of Ramadi before, during and after the Anbar Awakening (this particular deployment lasted 16 months book ending it) I can assure you if this is ‘worse’ than what Isis was doing before we and the local militias we recruited were able to kick their ass out….it’s incredibly horrific. Here are a few of the least extreme, sanitized examples. Isis rolled in and began by attempting to marry into the local power structure and were initially refused so they kidnapped the prospective brides and gang raped them, some till they died. If the local leaders still refused they killed that leader and his replacement and repeated this process until someone gave in, all the while kidnapping and raping tribal members. They would see someone smoking a cigarette, snatch them up and cut off their hand right then and there. Torture, rape (men and women, boys and girls), mutilation, killings, imposing their will through horrific violence.

Def. Sec. Austin: “I know a lot about ISIS, and this is worse than what I saw with ISIS.”

Queue the anonymous “White House spokesperson” saying, “Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has not actually seen anything done by ISIS, he’s basing his comments on Israel’s unsubstantiated claims and unverified media reports,” in 3… 2….

Wait until Lloyd Austin discovers that Hamas misgendered dozens of Israelis, and totals up all the microaggressions committed.

There has been a large campaign of denialism, in which photographic proof is demanded of Hamas’ crimes. Israel has very slowly started to release photos to the public — much more already has been shown privatedly to foreign journalists and officials.

It will not satisfy the deniers.

No, it won’t. The deniers are too emotionally invested in their belief that “that can’t happen” and/or “nobody could do such things”, or more specifically, “Hamas wouldn’t do that!”

Whichever it is, it’s purely emotional — not based in logic, reason, or fact — and so logic, reason, or fact cannot dispel it.

Look how many people still insist the Holocaust never happened, it’s U.S./Israeli propaganda, there’s no evidence, etc.

Show them the Auchwitz and Dachau sites, show them the detailed records the Nazis kept, take them into the gas chambers and have them feel the gouges from the victims trying to claw their way out, the photos of the emaciated Jews in captivity. They’ve no doubt seen it already, but show it all again. They still won’t believe it; no amount of evidence or proof will be enough.

It’ll be the same with deniers of Hamas’ atrocities: You can’t reason someone out of a belief they didn’t reason themselves into.

    Maz2331 in reply to Archer. | October 13, 2023 at 3:47 pm

And when evidence is presented, the pro-Hamas people will simply call it “justified”.

Yep. Pro-Hamas people are an interesting case study. First they believe the atrocities didn’t happen — “U.S. and Israeli propaganda” — and then when presented with irrefutable evidence, it switches to, “Well, it was justified.”

Tomorrow, they’ll be back to, “It didn’t happen,” and the process starts over.

Which is it? It cannot be both, and it cannot change from one to the other. Yet pro-Hamas people simultaneously believe both — the very definition of Orwellian “double-think”.

CommoChief in reply to Archer. | October 13, 2023 at 7:18 pm

Which is why their protestations re the ‘virtuous victim hood’ of Hamas should be ignored. What our domestic LEO must pay attention to are any statements of intent any of these radicals make. For good measure it wouldn’t hurt to enforce basic misdemeanor violations to effect an arrest, run them through the booking process to capture biometric data, find out if any warrants exist or if their Visa is expired or their immigration status is unlawful.
