Riley Gaines Shuts Down Keith Olbermann With Her Swimming Awards

Pathetic old man.

Washed-up sports anchor/political host Keith Olbermann wanted attention so he spewed vile nonsense at former University of Kentucky decorated swimmer Riley Gaines.

Gaines has become an advocate of saving women’s sports because of biological male Lia Thomas at the University of Pennsylvania.

Gaines “tied” with Thomas for fifth in the 200 freestyle final at the NCAA Women’s Championships in February 2022. The officials only had one fifth-place trophy and gave it to Thomas.

The back-and-forth started when Gaines supported Nebraska’s Women’s Bill of Rights.

LOL look at the community note.

Olbermann cannot even stay in reality because he continued going after her despite the truth.

Second team all-conference? Oh, you old man:

  • 2021, 2022 All-SEC First Team
  • 2019, 2020 All-SEC Second Team

I cannot even list all of Gaines’s success at Kentucky. Let’s say she did everything. She put Kentucky swimming on the map. A true athlete girls can admire and have as a role model.

Gaines showcased her awards for Olbermann.

I had thought that the Olbermann malignancy had been successfully excised from the body politic. This should serve as a warning that it is an especially malignant tumor that requires constant vigilance and multiple interventions.

unfortunately the internet has allowed failures like oberman to continue spewing nonsense and some will pay attention. Just a few years ago he would have disappeared into the hateful, ignorant fog of irrelevance for the betterment of us all.

Keith Olbermann has zero awards. Claims Olbermann is human could not be independently validated.

Stay strong Riley!

She is great but need 100, make that 1,000, more women like her to speak out and crush this malignancy afflicting our country.

    Where are they?

Bitter lefty boomer desperate to remain relevant way past his sell by date. Gaines curb stomped his ass in her video reply.

Not a big fan of the Boomer insult (too close to home), but agree with the rest!

      CommoChief in reply to kelly_3406. | September 1, 2023 at 9:18 am

Unless you are bitter and lefty as well it isn’t an insult to you. The lefty boomers do tend to be bitter. These are the folks who infiltrated and warped every institution in the Nation over the last 35 years or so. Boomers, as a group, tend to be very conformist (compared to Gen X) and the sheer size of their generational cohort granted them outsized influence.

Boomers began taking some of the reins of power in the mid ’80s or at least middle management. As the silent generation retired the boomers took full control of academia, pubic education, local govt, the military, corporate America and became the majority in Congress and in State legislatures.

IMO the lefty boomers haven’t done a very good job in using the power they gained to benefit the Nation.

        kelly_3406 in reply to CommoChief. | September 1, 2023 at 9:26 am

I wasn’t insulted and did not take it as such. However, my birth year was during the very last of what was considered to be the “baby boom”, so I was a “boomer” and my siblings were not. Needless to say, that has been pointed out to me more than once.

Siblings! Can’t live with them, so you have to smack them!

          (Oldest – boomer – of 6 here)

          CommoChief in reply to kelly_3406. | September 1, 2023 at 11:10 am

No worries that’s why I specified lefty boomers v those who were never deceived by our political opponents the d/prog. The oldest (’46) lefty boomers were voting in Presidential elections beginning in ’64 for LBJ while the youngest lefty boomers (’65)were voting in ’84 for Mondale.

Thankfully some wayward lefty boomers were among the ten million Obama voters that crossed over to vote for Trump in ’16. Glad to have them at least willing to consider the GoP candidates but if they only started voting GoP in ’16 the oldest lefty boomers were voting d/prog for the five decades prior. Lots of damage to the Nation and our institutions in those 50 years and we should not forget that fact.

        Fat_Freddys_Cat in reply to CommoChief. | September 1, 2023 at 9:54 am

Well said. As a boomer myself I always make it a point to distinguish myself from the lefty boomers. We were different then and we still are! I was called “square” more times than I could count.

Exactly. Not all boomers were fooled by the d/prog for the five decades prior to ’16, far from it. Unfortunately a large number were and they helped provide the margin of victory for d/prog and their destructive policies and now we have to clean up the mess.

I paraphrase here, but it’s like that old saying. If you’re not woke in your 20’s, you have no heart. If your an aging boomer who is still woke, you have no brain. Just goes to show, there’s no fool like an old fool.

Milhouse in reply to Rand. | September 2, 2023 at 10:52 am

The original saying was about being a republican (as in an anti-monarchist): “Anyone who is not a republican at twenty casts doubt on the generosity of his soul; but he who, after thirty years, perseveres, casts doubt on the soundness of his mind.”

Apparently the earliest precursor to this was attributed to John Adams: “A boy of fifteen who is not a democrat is good for nothing, and he is no better who is a democrat at twenty.”

In any case it’s a stupid saying.

henrybowman in reply to Rand. | September 2, 2023 at 2:55 pm

Except possibly to illustrate how mature American youth used to be at the tender age of 20.
Now they retreat into womb rooms with stuffies and coloring books.

The oldest lefty boomers couldn’t vote until Nixon-Humphrey in ’68. The voting age was still 21.

I find it amazing how so many Leftists routinely belittle those who have accomplished great things in their lives while claiming their own insignificant efforts to be heroic. It’s as though accomplishments, no matter how great they might be, mean nothing unless there is “D” behind your name.

Keith is a pretty tough guy picking on women. /s

Keith probably struggles to do a dog paddle in the shallow end.

Ol;bermann always lets narratives get in the way of facts-Ms. Gaines ‘s own statistics show that she was a very successful collegiate swimmer

I think Scott Adams had the best response on X (ne twitter):

“I hope he never leaves this platform. Pure gold.”

Keith is beclowning himself.

If she’s a better swimmer than Oberman then he’s proved that women can compete with men.

The mindless right is tricked into gloating.

rebelgirl in reply to rhhardin. | September 1, 2023 at 9:26 am

Any given woman could possibly beat any given man any day in any particular sport….golf, basketball, hockey, etc…..but for those trained in and for competitive athletics, it’s a different world and…you know I’m right.

gonzotx in reply to rebelgirl. | September 1, 2023 at 10:07 am

Not really, an exceptional woman maybe

      Remember our star packed
World Cup winning women’s soccer team lost to a 15U boys HS team

      Gender matters

rebelgirl in reply to gonzotx. | September 1, 2023 at 12:44 pm

Not at all.. I am an average woman who plays tennis. My husband played minor league pro baseball. He is 6″6″ and I am 5’7″.. I can’t win against him or even come close in golf (he has a 16 handicap and has played at St. Andrews). I can’t out shoot him at basketball. I
definitely cannot swing a baseball bat….but tennis (I’m a 3.5), that I can beat him at.

CommoChief in reply to rebelgirl. | September 1, 2023 at 11:21 am

No. The average woman in the US is 5’3 and 171+ lbs. The average man in the US is 5’9 and 198 lbs. The average woman is way more obese than the average man. Not to mention the built in physical advantage of men; greater strength, bone density, lung capacity, length of stride in running and so on.

Could a trained female athlete in a particular sport defeat some random man off the street in that female athlete’s particular sport? Sure but it wouldn’t be as huge a blowout in the same way the reverse would. Maybe a sport that required extreme endurance or extreme skill such as cross country running but beyond something like that? Probably not a blowout.

rebelgirl in reply to CommoChief. | September 1, 2023 at 12:41 pm

        You’re missing the point …intentionally.

CommoChief in reply to rebelgirl. | September 1, 2023 at 1:02 pm

How so? In your own example above discussing how you an avid tennis player can beat your husband you seem to confirm exactly what I stated in my third para.

I will restate it more simply. A female athlete focused and trained in a particular sport can beat a man who doesn’t have the same experience in sport that requires either extreme endurance or or skill. Tennis qualifies as needing both.

What level of fitness is your husband at? What are your ages? How much do each of weigh? You gave height but no other info to show if you are an ‘average’ woman or if he is an ‘average’ man. Lots of former athletes gain significant weight post playing days due to injuries/age taking a toll to limit exercise options. For all we know he is 300 lbs and twice your age with blown out knees that preclude his lateral movement/agility which is hella important in tennis.

rebelgirl in reply to rebelgirl. | September 1, 2023 at 1:51 pm

          You make my point.

CommoChief in reply to rebelgirl. | September 1, 2023 at 3:44 pm

Again how so? This refusal to engage in a discussion on a factual basis is revealing. This is the same thing radical feminists and woke lefties do; ignore/avoid facts while substituting emotion and instead of logical reasoning using deflection/projection. SIGN Language.

henrybowman in reply to rhhardin. | September 1, 2023 at 2:13 pm

Trained women can beat pathetic specimens of men?
Doesn’t prove anything about women or men, just Keith Olbermann.

Suburban Farm Guy in reply to rhhardin. | September 2, 2023 at 8:34 am

Mindless? Please refrain from gazing in the mirror while composing your ‘thoughts’

Riley Gaines, an accomplished lovely young lady.

Keith Olbermann, world class loser.

Someone ruined a good horses ass when they put teeth in his mouth.

WTPuck in reply to Romey. | September 1, 2023 at 10:20 am

As my dear departed Uncle Jake used to say, “there are more horses’ asses than there are horses.”

starride in reply to Romey. | September 1, 2023 at 10:23 am

ROFL. You owe me a keyboard……. I spit my drink all over it when I read your post……..

I am going to use that one…..

Olberman is one of those prog cunts who could really benefit from having his face pounded into mush.

Hey, Keith. Didn’t Lia Thomas “suck” as a male swimmer? All of a sudden, tops as a female swimmer. The appropriate conclusions are not really that hard to draw.
If you need more evidence, go look at female cycling or weightlifting.

He was an idiot when he had a show and his IQ hasn’t increased.

Riley Gaines just showed Pride. Not the fake, ginned up, manufactured, over-processed, version of the word.

Pride still has meaning and Miss Gaines is it.

Riley’s award shelf is more than a collection of things tangible. An aura of things intangible surround and envelope.

Epic burn. Sorry, Keith.

Hey, Keith…pawnd bitch

Olbermann is an idiot, and I would feel pity toward him if he weren’t such a horse’s ass.

Suburban Farm Guy | September 2, 2023 at 9:56 am

Does anyone agree w keith, think he knows what’s going on, go ‘yeah’ when he speaks? Hard to imagine how anyone with such a worm-level IQ could even function. If there is though we ought to be worried about them. His bellicose rhetoric could put such an unstable, ignorant loser over the edge

When arguing with Mr. Olbermann, keep the words of Mark Twain in mind:

“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”
