Ana Navarro and ‘The View’ Go Full NIMBY Over the Illegal Immigrant Crisis in New York City

The illegal immigrant situation in New York is having a very real impact. Democrats are finally feeling the effects of their policy positions on immigration.
Mayor Eric Adams is saying that the issue could destroy the city. On ‘The View’ this week, Ana Navarro and the other hosts let the mask slip, big time.
They don’t have a problem with all these illegal immigrants, they just think they should be sent elsewhere.

ANA NAVARRO: There are four countries that are providing — where most of these migrants are coming from, one is Venezuela where there is a communist dictator Maduro, another is Nicaragua where there is a communist dictator, Ortega, another is Cuba where there is a communist dictatorship of over 60 years, and another is Haiti where it is complete bedlam, violence, danger, war.
And so this is not — this is not a federal problem. This is not an American problem. This is a regional problem. This is a world problem and I think it takes everybody sitting together, not being performative.
What is being performative? Sending busloads of migrants to Kamala Harris’s house or Martha’s Vineyard or what Greg Abbott just did putting those drowning devices inside the Rio Grande, you know, to cause harm which the federal courts said were illegal and he needs to get rid of. That’s performative.
We need legislation. We need cooperation with other countries and cooperation with refugee resettlement programs worldwide so not everybody comes to the United States.
I do think the federal government is doing many things. They have prioritized asylum seekers. They’ve instituted a parole program specifically for those four countries, but, frankly, you know, I think we need to find — and we’ve dealt with this before. I lived in Miami. I was a migrant, an immigrant in Miami in the ’80s. You’ll remember when we had the Mariel boat lift. 125,000 Cubans came in a matter of six months. It puts tremendous stress on a city, on a community, on the social services. They need to be resettled elsewhere.

The Biden administration is doing nothing to solve this problem. They are only trying to think of ways to confine the flow of illegals to Texas.

When NYC came was being discussed before I suggested it would not be much of a loss, I know that there are people of merit in NYC, they should get the hell out ASAP. That is what I am doing. Cities are in decline, rate of decline is logarithmic.

So NY State will still be a magnet for illegal aliens due to their sanctuary policy and a very bad consent decree re housing buy will continue to vote d/prog? I can live with that. Especially as the more productive depart NY and they continue do spiral down.
Dems have been defecting for a long time, some people are more resistant to accepting that their political or religious affiliation has gone south. More are waking up all the time, and they are important if we expect to win.

Oh heck, no. Now is the time that the Southern states up their game and start sending even more “migrants” to those cities that declared themselves “Sanctuary Cities” and not let them get away with their sanctimonius baloney. Let NIMBYs know they can ‘t be a “sanctuary city” and not accept those filthy, disease ridden “migrants” that might show up on their doorstep looking for a handout. They talk the talk now the Southern states need to force them to walk the walk. No exceptions.

We have a lot of them doing landscaping around here. I run my own machines and don’t hire those crews but most of my neighbors do. The males at least can do productive work. The children clog our schools and medical facilities, due to Plyler v. Doe we can’t stop them, and women mainly support their own kids, so I’d rather have the men.
All the more reason to ship them to shithole cities.

Obama and Hugo Chavez were chummy, Obama embraced Fidel and his commie brother, Ortega was feted by every leftist still breathing – and popularized by The Clash album Sandinista! And now the same idiots simply ignore the Daniel Ortega fail theater.
The Clintons had the resources and opportunity to do the Haitians some good works after the earthquake, but their greed and incompetence and actual indifference to human suffering ruined all chance of positive effect.
Cubans turned out to be a positive force in Florida and America, unlike our invaders from Central America.
Especially the first batch of Cubans that fled Castro. The second group, the Mariel boatlift, contained a lot of people from their prisons and asylums apparently, and those who know Miami say their trajectory there has generally been different.

So now Ana Navarro wants the Trump solution — negotiating with countries in Central America, Remain in Mexico, etc. It’s the first thing in a long time I’ve agreed with, but she doesn’t credit Trump and she still hates Trump.
They could be resettled elsewhere in the US frontier style. Set them on some vacant land, I don’t want to give them land but allow them to develop it in return for living on it and they can live on it rent free for 10 years. Frontier style, like the Americans did.

as an aside – I think this is a good solution to the “reparation” crowd: free land with the deed in 7 years dependent upon habitation and development by your own sweat and blood and tears… just like the privileged white people.

So the illegals shouldn’t be encouraged to flood Red States, they should be spread out to Blue cities and states where most of the accommodation is to be found? Or illegals shouldn’t be permitted to flood Blue sanctuary cities and states, Red states should be forced to absorb them because they have land to spare?
Somehow I suspect the argument is the latter because it’s only now that Red states are redirecting a tiny minority of illegals that there’s a crisis in the eyes of the Left.
As has been pointed out elsewhere, although mainly Texas has been shipping illegals around the country, in reality the bulk of these illegals flooding the cities are being moved by the Biden Administration. We’re just taking credit for it.

There is a concept in the study of geography, especially within social geography called urban primary or dual primacy. While this concept is world wide it is especially of note to people of Latin American descent, well before todays political climate.. This concept started back in the 1950’s in Latino culture. From an old text book one the subject the author writes that in 1950 just 1/4 of the population was in urban areas and by 2000 that number was up to 70%. Venezuela was at 86% in the year 2000, that number is probably much higher now. Nicaragua was 63% in 2000. Cuba was 74%. Haiti was the true outlier at 33%.
Given these numbers it is little wonder why the people are attracted to NYC and not some little town in Mississippi. This is also a reason why so many have relocated to the Miami area and not some small town in the panhandle of Florida even though there is plenty of open space in that area.
Another concept to consider is remittances, billions of US dollars are sent of this country every year, that money is effectively taken out of circulation in this country and used in the foreign country never to return here.
I’ve always thought the reason could be distilled to one word: fleshpots.
Not totally in terms of the sexual meaning, but just the idea of great, heaving masses of diverse (in all senses) people.

Navarro said that we need legislation without specifying what would be in the legislation. I think what she has in mind is that Congress would pass a law saying that no city nor state would be allowed to declare themselves as a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.
And that gets you what? Sanctuary polities, legal weed polities, and intrastate gun polities are the big three “nullification” categories of the past couple of decades. The only one the feds ever had an interest in crushing have been the intrastate gun polities. F the feds.
