Why does the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission even exist?
What’s the point of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission:
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person’s race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and related conditions, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.
Most employers with at least 15 employees are covered by EEOC laws (20 employees in age discrimination cases). Most labor unions and employment agencies are also covered.
The laws apply to all types of work situations, including hiring, firing, promotions, harassment, training, wages, and benefits.
It doesn’t say to favor one race over the other. It doesn’t tell you to favor one religion over another.
You have to treat everyone the same way.
After George Floyd’s death, top companies cowered and vowed to make race, oh I mean diversity, the most important factor when hiring someone.
The big guys kept their word. That only means one thing: racial discrimination.
Yup. Love how Bloomberg frames it as if the hiring people at the companies were in fact racist the whole time (emphasis mine):
While the biggest shifts in 2021 happened in lower-paying job categories, such as sales workers and admins, the trend also occurred in well-paid and powerful managerial and professional roles. Even at the executive level, more than half the added jobs went to workers of color.
Black workers, who were the initial focus of the diversity push, made some particularly notable gains. Their share of managers and professionals increased at 70 companies in our data set, and they boosted their ranks among executives in nearly as many firms.
For years, companies have blamed the lack of a sufficient recruiting pipeline for why their workplaces don’t reflect the country’s racial and ethnic makeup. White men tend to disproportionately hold the highest-paying roles, and hiring managers have long said that qualified candidates from other backgrounds for elite jobs were few and far between. The latest findings show that when under pressure to hire and promote qualified diverse talent, organizations find a way to do it.
No, they didn’t just “see the light.” They knew if they didn’t do anything, then someone would cancel them.
Do you know the people are qualified or hired so that they could check off a box?
WHY would anyone want to be hired for any other factor besides qualifications? I’d be insulted if someone hired me just because I’m a female.

More than a quarter of companies had fewer Black executives in 2021 than in 2020. Three – Costco Wholesale Corp. and chipmakers Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Broadcom Inc. – had zero Black executives in 2021. Spokespeople from Broadcom and AMD declined to comment. A representative for Costco did not respond to a request for comment.
Another uh oh. Bloomberg thinks companies are eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) departments due to backlash from conservatives:
While the overall US labor market remains healthy, many companies have announced layoffs. At the same time, the cultural winds have shifted. Support for corporations’ environmental and social policies — which encompass diversity initiatives — has waned as some conservative politicians and policymakers rail against what they’ve labeled “woke capitalism.” Many chief executive officers are wondering if the scope of the Supreme Court’s June ruling on race-based admissions could apply to their own hiring goals.
“We’ve seen three years later how quickly DEI is becoming deprioritized,” said [Former CarsGuru DEI staffer Stephanie] LaJoie-Lubin, who no longer works in-house at a company, but still consults. “And now it’s like, ‘oh well, the business isn’t doing well, so where are we going to cut resources and investments?’ DEI and people teams.”
No. It’s because the DEI departments are not sustainable:
DEI positions have been disproportionately hit by layoffs across industries, but particularly at tech companies, which have faced financial challenges as sales slowed from the blistering pace attained during the pandemic.
One “DEI professional” noticed that, unlike how Bloomberg implied, the companies were not serious about diversity:
Speaking to laid-off DEI professionals, Howard noticed job losses concentrated among individuals who criticized an employer’s diversity-related policies or offered ambitious ideas for reform, he said.
“The separations weren’t coming from organizations that were really serious about enhancing their culture,” [Cecil Howard, a DEI consultant and former chief diversity officer at the University of South Florida] he said, describing a chilling effect for DEI professionals: “We don’t need you to be a voice; we need you to be a face.”
Following the BLM protests, just 6% of new S&P 100 jobs went to white applicants.
The only way this is possible is if corporations racially discriminated against white applicants.

The statistics use by Bloomberg for the report are disputed:
A Daily Wire analysis of the same numbers examined by Bloomberg found that, in reality, the demographics of hiring figures for 2021 were barely different from previous years. The percentage of new jobs that went to whites was likely about 46%, eight points below the 54% white makeup of companies’ existing workforces. That’s to be expected given demographic changes in the United States since the time that the currently-retiring baby boomer generation first entered the workforce.
Remember the Bloomberg story saying only 6% of new corporate hires post-Floyd were White?
The Daily Wire pointed out that this was an error based on using net numbers and failing to realize that Whites were older and thus retiring more.

To reduce the 6% of whites and Asians [we are kinda like unofficially white for government preferences] and straights that somehow slip through and are hired.

Asians average IQ is higher than whites, in the eyes of many blacks that makes them worse that white.
I have heard them badmouthing Middle East people who open stores in their neighborhoods. Intelligence of the two groups is about the same, One is industrious, the other far less so.

It became obvious in the late 60’s that the hypothesis that black issues were environmental was dead wrong and that low IQ was mostly genetic. That doomed AA succeeding on merit. That was when they started dumbing down the system to create a false illusion that blacks could succeed in nearly all fields. Only 15% of blacks have an IQ of 100 and up. That leaves about 70-75% who probably are not employable based on merit.
Looks like some people think it’s “racist” to state the empirically obvious, that blacks (as a population) have an average IQ that is 1 SD below Binet’s standard of 100. That is a HUGE difference, with staggering implications.
It is a huge difference, and the IQ deficit is compounded by culture which ranks about the same as that of the ingrates in Palestine.
As to downvotes, they are not necessarily about the specific post, some people get a mad on and then downvote everything. The DeSantis issue is one example of that.
The naive, or, virtue signaling types who live in gated communities.
They may be in the top 100 now but if these companies continue to hire based on factors other than merit they won’t be in the top 100 for long.
They’ll just get government contracts and liaisons. Like Facebook, YouTube, old Twitter…

Racism has come full circle, where today it is black racism against virtually all other groups. It is time to judge people solely in their merit.
This brings to mind Ben Shapiro’s recent
rantreview of Barbie, wherein he points out that a core plot point of the movie is that Mattel’s board is 100% male… when in the real world, it consists of six men and five women, and the company was run by a woman for 30 years (though not currently).Ben is a liberal fraud. Just like Bill Mahar.
Please name one idea Shapiro espouses that is liberal, or one thing he has done that is fraudulent.
In any event, the point of the omment is not Shapiro, but the liberal fraud of pretending there is still a systemic white patriarchy, still at the root of all evil, that still needs to be stamped out.

Yeah sure looks like it. Large companies intentionally hiring certain people based upon immutable characteristics but refusing to hire other people based on their immutable characteristics. Not to mention seemingly across the board at major corporations, so when does this stop being viewed as merely a ‘trend’ and start being looked at as collision?
In this case is People of Color used to describe non-White? Or a euphemism for “black”?
Well, it wouldn’t include brown bears, polar bears, panda bears, care bears, or teddy bears. Or bears with degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
With a number that high, it probably includes everybody who can check any box on an application form other than the “white” one, including Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, and Native Americans.

Ask Elon. The EEOC demands that Space-X hire noncitizens, at the same time the DOC (export controls) demands that it NOT hire noncitizens.

Sue these companies in a massive class-action suit. The internal C-Suite and lower-tier manager emails and chat messages that will be produced in discovery and which were created post-George Floyd’s drug-addled, self-inflicted demise, will be illuminating inasmuch as they will reveal blatant, brazen and illegal racial discrimination by companies who know federal labor laws very well.

Not just the hiring, but also the promotions and firing/layoffs.
I’m looking right now at 2 layers of middle management that exists because they need to give a certain skin color a promotion.
These people have no business being in those positions. Their calendars are wide open (unlike mgrs who do stuff). They are assigned NO projects but get promoted to higher levels. However unlike incompetent white people, these people are sacred cows and can never be fired. They will never be hired internally for real work, because everyone knows what they are about (doing nothing).
I have no idea how an honest person addresses this. The only person submitted for promotion by our black senior manager (who BTW received the only grade level promotion for doing exactly nothing for the two years I’m aware) was a black woman who accomplished nothing.
Unfortunately there is no rigor in our performance reviews to assert anyone else merited the promotion. So good luck with a law suit.

No wonder the stock is a dog. I’ve seen all of this cost 100s of millions in the short year I’ve been where I’m at.
I saw this at a prior company too- there was a req open for ONE position, but they hired two, one who could do the job and a black person externally who could be trained to do the job. Headcount is hard to find…. well not hard if a week later you tell a white person to leave or face horrible performance reviews because anonymous people suddenly don’t like you (yes- this happened).

Understand that some of these situations also have to do with public safety. I won’t disclose where I have a W2 at now, but end result here has a strong parallel to the Chernobyl movie.

I agree with you. I’m incredibly fortunate to have skills and opportunities that have allowed me to weather this. I realize few are as fortunate, and none of us should have ever been placed in the situation in the first place. It’s a grotesque failure of leadership.
