I thought presidents had something like that. SMH
For dereliction of duty? I would expect there to be minimal standards of conduct. This is so obviously a political prosecution that actually undermines national trust in the justice system, that I would be surprised if there were not sanctions for such actions. But I am not a lawyer, and I didn’t even play one on TV. Fani Willis is the one apparently playing a lawyer on TV.
If Dems can trump up charges, surely we can do the same.
Civil immunity. No one in government – with the possible exception of the sitting president – enjoys criminal immunity, which is often misunderstood. And, even immunity for the president is very unsettled and largely untested.
Sometimes there are statutes or rules covering misdeeds of prosecutors. Duke lacrosse prosecutor Mike Nifong served a whole day in jail for his misdeeds.
The key to my business success was near certainty that people who are dishonest or crooked in one aspect of how they conducted themselves, were likely doing the same across the board. I successfully destroyed a fair number of them, not all, but enough to make a difference.
Nifong is and interesting case. I watch a docuseries called The Staircase. I though Peterson killed his wife, but after the Duke case my opinion has changed.
The problem was letting these goon thug hacks get away with things, from Lois Lerner’s IRS to the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane and more, with zero accountability This massive coordinated abuse of prosecutorial authority to interfere in the next presidential election now requires fundamental reform, in addition to some (figurative) head rolling. Otherwise the country is lost. Of course, I’m hoping it hasn’t gone too far for reform already.

Many people “could have.” None of them did.
Disagree because it’s the manner in which they have gone after him, unlike any other figure American political history, that exposed the corruption. They did it to themselves. But it would not have happened without the perfect foil to justify the abuses that are now plain to see.
Don’t know how you could possibly disagree. There any number of people in Washington who know where the skeletons are and could have exposed them. But rather than support the constitution, they choose to play along. What the swamp did to the person who did so is irrelevant and after the fact.

Damn, I’m jealous. I’m 5-11 and 195, 64, in reasonably good health and I have nowhere near the amount of energy and stamina that Trump displays. If I even make it to 77, I’ll wish I can keep my weight reasonable — it’s tougher the older you get. And match his energy at that age? No way.

I’m in my 50s and also 6’3″ 210…and it’s an unbelievable challenge to stay there. It’s amazing how much your metabolism slows down in your late 40s. If I ate today what I ate just a decade ago, I would be 240, easy.
Older folks should be sure to have thyroid hormone levels checked. Hypothyroidism is common (low levels) and under-diagnosed, which would mean a lower metabolism and tendency to gain weight.
Based on the reporting I’ve seen, his height & weight at the jail were “self reported”. Sort of like being at the DMV. So, his numbers may have been fudged a tad.

If I was booked tomorrow, could I “self-report” that I’m purple, with green hair, 9 foot tall and weigh 45 pounds? And they’d put that on the official record? Heh – yeah, probably.
I’m also 6’3″ and I can assure you, there is no way in hell he weights 210 pounds. Looking at him I would venture to guess he weights about 275.
I’m 5’11”, 255 lbs. I’ve been a high as 294 lbs, but I train BJJ and exercise almost daily. The belt far is completely stubborn.

There’s a small possibility it’s because his lawyers told him to shut up and he actually listened to them for once.
Did you look at the transcript of his speech on 6 January? He laid the fraud (or his allegations of the fraud) out in detail, including dead people voting, imprisoned felons voting, people living at vacant lots voting, etc.
Remember, he only needs to find “one plus the winning margin” of fraudulent/illegal votes to cause the election not to be capable of being certified as valid.

In law, your belief does not matter. What matters is the belief must be reasonable. For example: I shot because he was charging me with a knife vs. I shot because he is a robot sent from the future to kill me.
Trump need prove nothing. In fact the state must explain how an election is overturned. Did Trump attempt to forge ballots? Threaten Electors with violence? Attempt to destroy ballots? Sabotage voting machines? Those are separate and specific crimes in and of themselves and MUST be listed in the charging indictment. But they weren’t.
Not only that, but no individual can overturn an election even if he has all the evidence in the world that the election was rigged. Only the state legislature can recall the Electors or appoint a new slate. And even then the House of Representatives must vote on it.
I can only believe she was too dense to realize this. She has handed him the court hearing on election fraud the (captive?) local judges denied him on grounds of standing or laches. What was that saying about being hoist by one’s own petard?

It isn’t that easy, gonzo. I suspect most of the lawyers here are not licensed to practice in the jurisdictions where Mr. Trump is charged. Such an attorney can be added pro hac vice, which is a legal term for adding an attorney to a case in a jurisdiction in which they are not licensed. It has to be accomplished according to local rules so that the added attorney does not commit the unauthorized practice of law. In the jurisdictions where I’ve practiced, attorneys who practice pro hac vice must do so with a local lawyer acting as local counsel.
Additionally there is the very real issue of competence within the narrow scope of the law charged. While a lawyer might have a strong personal opinion about someone’s guilt or innocence, that’s a far cry from being a competent advocate. (See, Jenna Ellis, Sydney Powell, et. al.)

While a few million watched the Republican presidential primary candidates’ debate, Tucker Carlson’s interview of candidate Trump attracted an estimated audience which viewed all or part of the interview was in excess of 230,000,000, making it the most viewed social media event in history. Such a number suggests something is going on that neither President Biden nor his campaign strategists considered.
They are so used to “winning” over the years that I doubt they either care or understand. They could care less if it were a pyrrhic victory since destruction of the USA as they see it is their goal anyway. For those that have little to lose, any outcome is suitable. I firmly believe that they will do anything and everything to get their way…. it’s not their hill to die on but to kill for. They have enough of the control of the country to roll the dice, especially since they can fabricate any false flag that they want and have it stick.
The 200+ million ain’t accurate. The overwhelming majority of that count is is bias in how the algorithms assign a ‘view’. No flipping way more than 15-20 million max actually WATCHED the TC interview. The remainder is algorithm hocus pocus. Almost everyone understands this.
About 26 million people watched the 1st debate in ’15 with Trump on stage. About 12 million watched this years first debate without him on stage. The remaining 14 million probably were interested enough to watch the counter program TC interview of Trump. The polling supports this in that about 55-60% of GoP respondents support Trump and the remaining GoP respondents support another GoP candidate.
Trying to shoe horn 200+ million ‘views’ into a calim of organic support for Trump when we all know damn well that isn’t close to accurate undercuts the credibility of those who make the claim. There were about 156 million ballots cast in ’20.
Are we to now believe that the number of folks who care enough to WATCH a debate or counter programmed long form interview pre labor day the year prior to the general election has grown from 26 million in ’16 to a combined number approaching 250 million? Get real.
This is the sort of exaggerated claim that causes folks to question everything else the MAGADONIANS have to say. It hurts your ability to effectively persuade others and diminishes your ability to function as a successful surrogate for Trump.
