As a Georgia State Senator, I am officially calling for an emergency session to review the actions of Fani Willis.
America is under attack. I’m not going to sit back and watch as radical left prosecutors politically TARGET political opponents.
We, the undersigned, being duly elected members of the Georgia House of Representatives and Georgia Senate, and comprising 3/5 of each respective house, pursuant to Article IV, Section II, Paragraph VII(b), hereby certify to you, in writing, with a copy to the Secretary of State, that in our opinion an emergency exists in the affairs of the state, requiring a special session to be convened under that section, for all purposes, to include, without limitation, the review and response to the actions of Fani Willis.

The letter says, “We, the undersigned,” but I only see Moore’s signature. I’m guessing he expects others to sign it.
Moore has been asking people to sign a petition to investigate Willis:
Corrupt District Attorney Fani Willis is potentially abusing her position of power by pursuing former President Donald J. Trump, and I am calling on my colleagues in the Georgia legislature to join me in calling for an emergency session to investigate and review her actions and determine if they warrant impeachment.
The politically-motivated weaponization of our justice system at the expense of taxpayers will not be tolerated. I am demanding that we defund her office until we find out what the hell is going on. We cannot stand idly by as corrupt prosecutors choose to target their political opposition.
Cliff Maloney, who runs America First Georgia campaigns, told Breitbart News:
“Finally, a leader who is stepping up and fighting back against the epidemic of corrupt District Attorney’s that are drunk on power,” he said.
“Colton Moore is an absolute patriot,” he added. “He must win this battle and I encourage every liberty loving American to support him.”
Trump faces 13 charges in Georgia, adding up to 76.5 years in state prison.

No, I don’t think it’s hendiadys or substandard. I think it’s correct English. Sitting back is not necessary in order to watch. It’s not a preparation for watching. Rather they are two things that a passive person would do, and that he declares he will not.
Is she saying she would she sit back and not watch, or not sit back but do watch? Both are negations of sit back and watch.
What she’s saying is she’s not going to sit back to watch. Nothing about negating watching.
Try it both ways and see which is more lively English.
No, he is saying that he is expected to do nothing but sit back, and watch. And that he refuses to do either of those things. He is going to do something about it. Whether there’s anything he can do is another question. But he seems to be of the mind that “I must do something; this is something, so I will do it”. Which has exactly the same effect as sitting back and watching, but you end up feeling better about yourself because “at least I did something”.
You can also sit back and close your eyes (not watch), but you don’t need to sit back in order to close your eyes.

I sympathize with you, and prefer the more logical “to watch”, but both are correct. Both usages go back centuries with writers of the first water. More concerning is the employment of attorney’s as the plural for attorney.

It doesn’t work out with verbs. It makes you stop and think (stop to think).

And it’s exactly what we need.

If there is nowhere for this to go, then you admit that our system is an adequate to deal with evil. If so then it must be reconstituted.
