Democratic County Official in Texas Switches to GOP Citing ‘Unprecedented’ Border Crisis

An attorney for Kleberg County in Texas has switched parties from Democrat to Republican, citing the ongoing border crisis as a reason.
Kleberg County is on the border and typically votes blue but went for Trump in 2020.

A Democratic county official in Texas announced that she is switching to the GOP, citing support for law enforcement and border security policy as key reasons why.
Kleberg County Attorney Kira Talip Sanchez confirmed the political party switch Saturday in a release to Fox News Digital. She addressed the Hispanic Republicans of Texas PAC at their 2024 election season kickoff event.
Kleberg County is located in southern Texas and borders the Gulf of Mexico. While it has historically leaned blue, the county voted for former President George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004, and narrowly voted for former President Donald Trump in 2020.
Sanchez cited the “unprecedented” border crisis as a main reason for her switch.
“As County Attorney, I have been proud to work with law enforcement to ensure the safety of the citizens of Kleberg County,” Sanchez said in a statement. “There is an unprecedented crisis at our southern border. I believe that the GOP’s policies of law and order protecting safety, and backing the blue best align with my values and the values of the citizens of Kleberg County.”
“I look forward to working with my colleagues to keep South Texas safe,” Sanchez added.

What takes them so long to switch? It has been plainly obvious from the start that allowing this flood of illegals has been deliberate on the part of the Democrat party and not only deliberate but planned and done with bad intent. And then the Commie Lib bastards send their officials in front of Congress to lie to them and us…

Mayor of El Paso is still a Democrat, that ought to tell you nothing is changing.
A county attorney is similar to a DA. In any event, it’s just another indicator that formerly heavily Democrat Texas border counties and districts are turning purple. She wouldn’t be changing parties if she hadn’t had her finger up to check the political winds.
1) If it is bad enough that an elected Democrat who deals with the problem daily has a crisis of conscience and switches parties; it is probably too late to fix the problem by electoral means.
2) You also realize that the Democrats will take her out by any means fair or foul, legal or illegal, for committing heresy against the State and Narrative.
