Now Joe Biden Can’t Stop Talking About The Granddaughter He Ignored Until Three Days Ago

Curious timing.

Joe Biden deliberately and consistently refused for years to even acknowledge the existence of Hunter’s daughter Navy.

It was such an embarrasment to anyone with a heart, that even NY Times Columnist Maureen Dowd called him out on it three weeks ago, It’s Seven Grandkids, Mr. President.

My sister and I often disagree about politics, but this is not a political issue to us. It’s a human one. Joe Biden’s mantra has always been that “the absolute most important thing is your family.” It is the heart of his political narrative. Empathy, born of family tragedies, has been his stock in trade. Callously scarring Navy’s life, just as it gets started, undercuts that. As Katie Rogers, a Times White House correspondent, wrote in a haunting front-page piece last weekend about Hunter’s unwanted child, Biden is so sensitive “that only the president’s most senior advisers talk to him about his son.” Rogers said that “in strategy meetings in recent years, aides have been told that the Bidens have six, not seven, grandchildren.” Jill Biden dedicated her 2020 children’s book to the six grandchildren….The president’s cold shoulder — and heart — is counter to every message he has sent for decades, and it’s out of sync with the America he wants to continue to lead.

Then last Friday, July 28, Team Obama/Biden rolled out an interview in People magazine acknowledging Navy for the first time. I assume the internal polling was the reason, Internal Polling Must Have Been Brutal: Biden Acknowledges Granddaughter For First Time.

Joe Biden wouldn’t even acknowledge the existence of his granddaughter Navy, via Hunter, for years. Not even after he repeatedly was criticized for such a cold-hearted and cruel attitude. But we’re entering an election year, his popularity is low, and the internal polling and focus groups must have been brutal. The false narrative of loving Grandpa Joe, concocted for the 2020 election, couldn’t last when he ignored the existence of a poltically inconvenient grandaughter. A granddaughter not even allowed to use the Biden name.So ‘Grandpa’ Joe finally tossed Navy a verbal bone during an interview with People magazine. He mentioned her name.

In hindsight, I missed what was right in front of me. It wasn’t internal polling, though that might be bad. It was Devon Archer’s upcoming testimony the following Monday (today) expected to reveal that Joe has been lying for years about his supposed lack of involvement in Hunter’s shady business deals selling access to Joe.

Team Obama/Biden strategists needed a distraction, hence the People spread, that got a lot of media coverage.

But wait, today Joe made a point in a podcast interview to point out he has seven granchildren not six, and how much he loves them. More media coverage on the day Archer testified, such as this in Politico:

President Joe Biden is getting into the habit of counting Hunter Biden’s 4-year-old daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, among his grandchildren. In a conversation for a podcast episode released Monday, Biden said that he has seven grandchildren — not six. Though the reference to Navy was only implicit, it marks the first time Biden has cited that figure when talking about his family during an interview.“I have seven grandkids, five of ‘em old enough to talk on the phone, you know, every day I either text or call them,” Biden said during the episode of “On purpose with Jay Shetty.”Biden first acknowledged that he is the grandfather of Navy, Hunter’s daughter from his affair with Lunden Roberts, in a statement on Friday.

So contrived. So Team Obama/Biden.
