House Democrats Prove RFK Jr. Correct by Trying to Censor him at Censorship Hearing

The Democrats tried to censor RFK at a government suppression of free speech hearing in front of the weaponization committee. The lack of self-awareness.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a presidential candidate, appeared at a censorship hearing in front of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

RFK has been vocal about social media platforms and the left censoring him.

The Democrats, from the start of the hearing, tried to censor RFK at a government suppression of free speech hearing in front of the weaponization committee:

But after his opening remarks, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., moved to take the hearing into executive session to discuss RFK, Jr.’s alleged violation of a House rule aimed at banning testimony that defames or degrades others.

Wasserman Schultz said the witness made “despicable” antisemitic and anti-Asian comments in the last few days, referring to his comment that COVID may have been “ethnically targeted” because those who are most immune to COVID appear to be Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people. RFK, Jr. later said he was not accusing anyone of deliberately engineering COVID to spare certain ethnic populations.

You cannot make this up.

Gotta give the d/prog points for consistency on this one. They put their desire to suppress/censor information out in the open today very unapologetically then followed their standard play book. If step one is unsuccessful then move on to try and shame people into self censorship with false allegations/innuendo, ascribe bad motives all delivered in a pathetically over emotional diatribe.

If somebody tried it in person they’d get punched in the throat.

IDK about that. The rise of the Karen and lack of a corresponding increase in Karen receiving an attitude adjustment on the spot to the applause of all would suggest the those with totalitarian tendencies don’t fear direct consequences.

They only get away with Censorship because the entire Corporate Media is a part of their team.

Thankfully today new media alternatives exists such as substack and LI or even reaction channels on YouTube such as Hodge Twins. Musk has upended the previous regime at Twitter following his decision to put his $ where his mouth was and but it to restore more open debate and speech.

Missing a ‘g’ in the headline, boss.

This is not really about censorship, it’s about the Democrat primaries. If RFK Jr were not running for president on the Democrat ticket this would not be an issue. The object is to eliminate contenders running against Joe Biden in the primary.

Polls show that RFK Jr has a connection with the Democratic voters. He represents a real threat to Joe Biden. If this doesn’t work, they will use the superdelegates to knock him out in round two.

RFK Jr. was doing nothing but telling the truth, as published in our National Library of Medicine. The thread below explains the theoretical basis and accompanying data. In brief, ACE2 receptors vary along ethnic lines, and the differences mean that SARS COV2 binds more readily to some than to others.

For me, the presence of Ashkenazi as a distinct group is not significant. They are just one more sort-of identifiable ethnic group. There could be parallel stratification of vulnerability to other diseases, as well, that we don’t know about yet because nobody has looked, yet.

For me, the significance is that the Russians have accused our government of funding biowarfare research aimed at different ethnicities. Over time, I have seen evidence supporting every element of that accusation emerge.

Now, we have the Democrats wildly overreacting to some simple, well-supported statements of fact by a Presidential candidate in their own party.

I am looking at what was once unthinkable.

I made a similar point on a previous comment thread regarding RFK, Jr.

The two stories in the New York Post (one as a gossip item, the other built directly upon the gossip item) both ran early on Saturday July 15. Conveniently timed.

Sliming RFK Jr. as an anti-Semite worked at this site for a few hours. I still see uncritical repetition of the charge at Townhall. I’m sure the “mainstream” media are going with it.

The article in question merely predicts reduced vulnerability to the Wuhan virus in Ashkenazi Jews and East Asians, based on a model of the way the virus gets into cells.

The authors warn that data on people who have been exposed to the virus will be needed to test their predictions. It doesn’t appear that anyone’s run the appropriate follow up study. It may not feasible, given the extremely low quality of official numbers on Wuhan virus cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.

My general rule for accusations of someone committing any ‘ists, isms or phobia’ is to give it a week or so to marinate. Usually by then the original claims have been either completely disproved or so watered down and twisted as to become meaningless as the additional info becomes available for added context.

Some folks are still obsessed with the shiny object of a mere allegation like a cat chasing a laser pointer’s beam. They haven’t yet internalized that the leftist will use our own decency as a weapon against us.

I don’t know why people find the idea of ethnically-targeted bioweapons so preposterous, especially in light of the fascination in recent years with using DNA to discover one’s roots and the fact that these generic ancestry companies can sell the DNA data they collect to *anyone*….

Russell’s theory of types prevents it from being a problem.

F-JFK Jr. is not a underdog worthy of our empathy. He’s a long time DC grifter-lawyer and eco-confidence man. He is heir to the Camelot aristocracy. In the Game of Thrones he’s the guy that…. …

He enriched himself at the expense of western ranchers and farmers while live action role-playing the crusading knight in shining armor.

He’s ground peasants under his boot heel.

If rightists want to use him as shovel against democrat bull-manure, fine, but please don’t turn him into a martyr for the Cause.

Perhaps, but he is still entitled to speak his mind and not be censored by his government, certainly not at the behest of his own party, merely because they don’t like what he says. The mere attempt to silence him tells you that they fear others might hear what he says.

Tiki in reply to Idonttweet. | July 20, 2023 at 5:51 pm

Not “perhaps.” That’s a load of glib garbage. You’d not be so dismissive if your family found themselves dispossessed by a lawyer-scoundrel. Reserve some sympathy for those people.

And make no mistake, RFK Jr. is a scoundrel of the first order. Not a mustache twisting cartoon character. A true villain.

I don’t care about his rights after he’s spent a lifetime trampling the rights of others.

The idea of adopting high-flown and legalistic notions and catchphrases about applications of justice is for fools and children.

That’s why we find ourselves in the position we’re in right now; losing the Culture War.

You can go down with the ship if you want, but don’t you dare lecture me about Duty and Honor.

He may be a villain, but any trouble he gives Dementia Joe is all good.

Idonttweet in reply to Tiki. | July 20, 2023 at 8:07 pm

I don’t know what tied your knickers in a knot, but the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment protects an individual’s right to speak his mind regardless of whether the government considers his speech well intentioned and well thought out or deeply misguided and flawed.

I disagree with many of Mr. Kennedy’s opinions and positions and if I don’t like them, I can move on and not listen to or read them, but he has an absolute right to have and express them. Neither government, nor the tyrant-wannabes in his own party have the right to shut him or anybody else up because they don’t like what’s being said.

retiredcantbefired in reply to Tiki. | July 20, 2023 at 5:03 pm

The whole point of supporting RFK Jr.’s efforts against censorship is getting rid of censorship.

The whole point of supporting RFK Jr.’s efforts against pandemic panic, forced vaccinations, etc., is reducing the likelihood of future pandemic panic, forced vaccinations, etc.

The whole point of suggesting RFK Jr. as a candidate to Democrats is getting some of them to vote against Biden or To Be Named Later in the primaries, thereby weakening Biden or To Be Named Later.

That’s all. The guy is a Kennedy and a career trial lawyer, and he’s been wrong about a lot of things. I doubt anyone who comments here doesn’t know what he’s done in the past.

      Bullshit.

      You’d be amazed

As an ally of convenience on the issues of censorship and the joint shenanigans carried out by govt and legacy media /big social media in support of big pharma and totalitarian tendencies?

Sure, as long we go into it understanding it is a temporary and very limited alliance. Nothing more. Then make sure we have a hand on our wallets and the other keeping him in front of us at all times so he can’t shiv us in the back.

What nerve. Debbie spends her life calumniating.

In P.D Ouspensky’s Letters From Russia 1919, he talks about the Russian Intelligentsia’s idea that one must hold tight to philosophical abstractions in the face of Lenin’s Bolsheviks.

They stuck to their principles.

DWS invoked rules that apply within the House in an attempt to silence RFK Jr. for something he said days earlier, outside the House. It’s also possible that the rules apply only to House members, and not to people who are testifying to something before the House (because it strikes me that when someone comes to testify before the House, there are at least some House members who want to hear everything the speaker has to say, as is their right). DWS almost certainly attempted to abuse the House’s rules, and she should be punished for the attempt.
