Crazed Feminist Goes Nuclear on “Oppenheimer” Movie
…because a woman doesn’t speak for 20 minutes into the film.
I am one of many Americans who has grown tired and bored with Hollywood production and values.
One of the bright spots for me has been anticipating the release of “Oppenheimer”, which is the story of story of American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb as the goal of the famous Manhattan Project during World War II.
Apparently, I am not the only one. It appears the box office already exceeded expectations.
While Oppenheimer’s critical ratings have blown past Barbie with a near-perfect Rotten Tomato score, the latter, which stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, is now expected to double the Cillian Murphy-starring biopic’s box office takings.
However, both releases have shot past their expectations in a huge way, perhaps proving that audiences are tired of sequels and superhero films.
Barbie was estimated to earn $110m at the US box office during opening weekend, with Oppenheimer‘s total was projected to sit around $50m. Impressively, Barbie is now on track to take $150m, with Nolan’s drama set to amass $75m.
Speaking in a new interview with The Independent, Nolan described Oppenheimer as “the biggest film I’ve made”. Meanwhile, Murphy admitted to struggling to watch the film due to seeing his face projected on the screen, but acknowleged that the film is “designed” to be “watched with an audience”.
Of course, given the presence of so many white males over 50 involved in the Manhattan Project, “Oppenheimer” has earned the derision of at least one extreme feminist.
A feminist academic has slammed the new Oppenheimer movie after claiming that no women speak until 20 minutes into the movie.
The film, which explores physicist the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, who created the atomic bomb, was released this weekend to rave reviews.
On Twitter, Dr Tanya Roth criticized the film for it’s lack of female representation within the first twenty minutes.
On Friday, the expert on woman’s history, said: ‘Fun fact: no women speak until 20 minutes into Oppenheimer and then within a minute there’s a sex scene.’
She also followed this up with: ‘To add to this: no people of color appear for at least 30 minutes, and I believe there are 2 black men in the entire movie.’

Apparently, the race to be victimized by “Oppenheimer” is on.
Indian netizens slammed the movie and the director for having a scene where the main character Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) quotes a line from the Bhagavad Gita ( the Hindu sacred text) while making love to Jean Tatlock (Florence Pugh).
I’m calling for a boycott of the movie Oppenheimer. I just learned there is a highly offensive scene involving the Bhagavad Gita in it. I will not repeat it here, but it involves something explicit. Never trust Hollywood and West to depict Hinduism positively and accurately.

I saw three full grow people in weird looking pink dresses coming out of the theater on my way in to see mission impossible. I’m pretty sure two of them were women. Then I remembered the existence of the Barbie movie.

It is now a requirement in every modern movie because of a generation of new directors who also MUST have at least one of the following; a gay or lesbian, black/white couple, a black playing a white role in the original story, a character who is a racist or woman hater. It is like they have a playbook and they must check all of the boxes.
Someone told me, back in the 70’s, that in France it was virtually a requirement that every film have a “young woman takes off her clothes” scene.

As hard as it is for modern Leftists to comprehend; unlike today the goal of the military was to win a war for national survival. There was no affirmative action for race, LGBTetc., or politics. The overriding goal was victory at all costs. We started researching nuclear weapons after it became known that the Germans were. Fortunately for us, they took a wrong turn in their research and gave up.
By that time we had learned in the Pacific how expensive it was in lives to take territory from the Japanese. A million plus Americans [and their descendents] would have died in any attempt to land and physically take Japan. One of those may well have been my father, who had already fought his way across Europe in Patton’s 3rd Army [and earned US citizenship for it]. His unit was scheduled to be brought back to the States, re-equipped, and used for the invasion of Japan. Hiroshima and Nagasaki made that unnecessary.
Reality. The war was fought and the logistics train was run largely by white males. It thankfully worked.

The Japanese Emperor Hirohoto, believing the nigh annihilation of his people was at hand, made the unprecedented move to speak on national radio and personally pleaded for his country to surrender. While the royal family had little real political power at this point, they still held considerable sway over the hearts of the populace, and many Japanese citizens, shocked at hearing their Emperor speak, were said to have bowed to their radios.
Hirohito had plenty of political power. Many of the Japanese disasters in the war were the result of Imperial General Headquarters trying to carry out what they believed were imperial directives. His plea for the country to surrender was mainly directed at the military, especially the Imperial Army, who has been trained under the Bushido code to never surrender. A small faction of young (and drunk) army officers instigated the Palace Revolt (murdering the head of the 1st Imperial Guards Division in the process) in an effort to seize the recording of the plea to surrender but failed when Army leadership would not go along with it.
I have read that when the surrender was announced many Japanese people believed it meant they had won. They also expected the to continue to fight without surrender until victory.
The ‘goal of the military’ is to house and enable transvestites and child molestors. That’s it’s main goal under Biden/Obama.

The US Armed Forces invested innumerable amounts of money to Germany, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan and more, and still provide protection to many nations.

The Enola Gay is in the annex to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum out by Dulles. I’ve been to the bomb pit on Tinian and to see the Enola Gay. Bookends, practically.
I would say the US started delivering superior firepower in 1942. The difference was we could keep delivering it. And we did, over and over again.
I once out of curiosity looked up info about my dad’s WWII service record (He died of a stroke when I was 13 so I couldn’t ask him about it). He served as a tanker under Omar Bradley in Germany. Got a chill when I found a copy of his orders reassigning him to the Pacific Front. Were canceled of course when the Japanese surrendered.
The nuking of Japan not only likely saved the lives of a million US soldiers, it probable saved the lives of ten times that of Japanese, bamboo spears vs machine gun fire is not a winning formula for civilian defenders.
Assuming we didn’t give a Sh@t about the genocide of Chinese civilians under Japanese occupation, we could have at the end blockaded and (regular) bombed the Japanese mainland into surrender – but the Japanese deaths from starvation wouldn’t have been any better.

Full disclosure: I don’t LOOK for them, but they just leap out at me. I seem to recall in The Caine Mutiny, and establishment shot of the building where the mutiny trial was to take place. The war was over in 1945, and I think the court martial was right then. The establishment shot had early and mid 50s cars out front (the move was done in the mid 50s).

That’s not true at all. This is a true story that is well documented and for a director of any such movie to change the sex or race of an important character is not only unprofessional but cowardly. The Broadway play “Hamilton” is an example of taking history and turning it into a political and racial statement for the woke masses. An entertaining only movie can get away with that because it is only for enjoyment but when you turn history upside down then it is wrong in my opinion. I do not count minorities but I do notice mistakes in the identification of historical figures. If this movie had depicted Oppenheimer as a black man would that have bothered you? I don’t think you understand that there are many kinds of movies and when it is a historical version it should reflect history and not Hollywood.

Fat Man And Little Boy was an excellent movie about Oppenheimer and The Bomb … but it didn’t do well because it had too many women speaking in it (Laura Dern wouldn’t shut her mouth) and no sex scenes.
There is a Canadian movie “Hiroshima” that is a good presentation of the era. Fat man and Little Boy blurred history. For anyone really interested in the development of The Bomb… the book “Critical Assembly” is a must. Here is the pdf version.

I’ve spent 55 years of my life (I am now 66) reading history, with a large portion of that time reading WW II history. The best history book I have ever read is The Making of the Atomic Bomb by Richard Rhodes.
That was an excellent book and there are many more that look at it from other perspectives.
I’ll look that one up…. Critical Assembly is not sweeping… it is a blow by blow account of Los Alamos. All of this is just as amazing as Apollo 20 years later. When America could and did what was needed.
As a nuclear engineer, I reread “Critical Assembly” in preparation for seeing the movie. So much that is taken for granted now had to be discovered in that short time span. Much of the breakthrough success was in late 1944 and early 1945. The major setback was when it was found the reactor made Pu-239 was contaminated with fissioning Pu-240 than prevented a gun type bomb… to much spontaneous natural neutron production. The first samples had been pure from Lawrence’s cyclotron created plutonium prior to this. Oops. As for cost… the B-29 program was more costly but was a small segment of history overshadowed by the jet age.

Fun fact: The step grandfather in law was a physicist in WWII and worked on the Manhattan Project and every time I asked what he did he’d always say that as the youngest scientist on the team he had the vital job of making the tea 😂 He went on to a long and illustrious career in the nuclear industry after WWII and was a wonderful, wonderful bloke 😊

The lives of all the Japanese on the island weren’t worth the life of a single additional American soldier, if there were even a tradeoff. As it happens it saved both.
A leader’s principle duty is to accomplish his mission with the least expenditure of the lives of his troops and his people. The leader is under no obligation to avoid causing the deaths of his enemy’s troops and civilians (who are similarly the responsibility of the enemy’s leadership), when avoiding those deaths would sacrifice this principle. That is to stay, a leader’s duty is to the greatest extent possible preserve the lives of his own people even at the expense of the lives of his enemies, and to only consider the lives of his enemies when such consideration is consistent with the first principle and as tactical practicality and strategic necessity permits.
That misses the point, though. The point is that a great many people mewl about how destructive it was, and the fact is that invading the islands would have likely required genocide or near to it. The people worried about the level of destruction wrought at Hiroshima and Nagasaki should understand that the bombs saved Japan from being wiped off the earth – because it made them sit up and become aware of what was coming.
Yes, from a military strategy point of view dropping them also saved American lives. But that’s not what those people are complaining about. And demonstrating their ignorance even from their own point of view is useful, IMO.
If the Japanese didn’t want to die in the war they should have surrendered earlier.
And the point of “saving Japanese lives, too” is that the bombs woke them up to the lie they had been told about being invincible and such.
And, even then, a bunch of them still wanted to fight. There was an impending coup (which never came to fruition) because the Emperor wanted to surrender.
Anyone with a brain can see it was a good thing – for the Japanese – to drop those two bombs and end it.
The US was also considering chemical warfare if things got bad after the invasion.

Both Robert Oppenheimer and his wife were solid communists. Neither were U.S. patriots. In fact, the evidence strongly indicates that Oppenheimer facilitated Stalin acquiring the bomb technology. Security was lax. The BIG problem was with the British and their security. After WWII and with the Soviets getting the bomb, it became apparent that the UK was a problem and they were cut off from US thermonuclear technology. Many in the UK begrudge that but we had reason.
Reason 2: The British gave the Soviets a tour of the jet engine facility. They not only gave the Soviets a jet engine, but the KGB spy that toured the facility wore sticky gum soled shoes and picked up metal fragments that allowed full metallurgy of what was being made. The outcome…. the MiG-15.
This is about as relevant as a complaint that the movie wasn’t about women’s contribution to the war effort. This movie was about Oppenheimer’s contribution to the Manhattan Project and the ending of the war. The injection of Oppenheimer’s potential involvement in espionage is not necessary to the story being told. That subject is worthy of an entire movie all by itself. “Oppenheimer” is not that movie, because it’s not telling that story.
I believe most humans crap regularly, but I don’t complain that movie-makers almost never show this, as it is equally unnecessary to the stories they’re telling.
Well, it’s touted as a “biopic”. And there’s plenty of irrelevant sex. So, why shouldn’t his communism be better represented? I don’t think it should be a movie killer, actually, but it is a valid complaint (up to a point).
There was an “art” film, back in the sixties, in which the players talked while sitting bare-assed on toilets but retired to private cubicles now and then to eat. The playwright thought this was a profound commentary on our society.
Show me that with a link. From all of the historical data I have ever read that was never proven. His wife was a devout Commy but he was totally mixed up about the ethical production of such a weapon and who and how it would be used. The spies that were eventually discovered at Los Alamos were not tied to him. Just like in academia today, back then they were a lot of “Free” thinkers and radicals who did not respect America and who believed in Socialism or Communism. Almost exactly like academia today.

Well, the historical reality is that black Americans didn’t play a pivotal role in the development of the atomic bomb. Deal with it.
And, you can hold to that historicity while also saying something like “Maybe there should have been, but we were still working out of Reconstruction,” and not be a goober about it.

I watch a lot of PBS British movies and they go out of their way to insert blacks into the stories that would not have had very many employed in the era of the movie. It doesn’t bother me but it is a stretch where it needn’t be. If it was based on using a superior actor or their role, that would make sense but to insert it for diversity is just another layer of woke that we have to endure.

Exactly….. the bomb was about 10 times more powerful than predicted. This is the plutonium implosion device as the Hiroshima bomb was never tested… it was a sure thing… very very inefficient. Only about 3% of the U-235 was converted to energy. But… it did go “bang”… thank you very much.
The US did have a “problem” in developing bombs…. more punch than calculated. Think Castle Bravo and lithium-7. All to say our missiles didn’t need the heavy lift to deliver the payload but the Soviets did… hence Sputnik.

Opening scene … Oppenheimer is chauffeured by Jamie Foxx from his home to the lab at Los Alamos. They stop for gas, where Rosie O’Donnell fills the tank and checks under the hood. Meanwhile, Oppenheimer crosses the road to eat breakfast at a roadside cafe, where the waitress is played by Susan Sarandon. She asks how his work is going. He ignores her and leaves a 2-bit tip. When he’s out of earshot, she grumbles something about a “living wage”.
That ought get them 10/10 on the libtard-o-meter.
A true “Hidden Figures” version of Oppenheimer would have the women solving all the math and physics problems while the men stand around being useless.
The biggest story of the year, movie-wise, continues to be “Sound of Freedom,” which has hit $125 million in box office in the U.S., presently its only market.
Obviously, box office is a very big deal, but that’s only where it starts. 60% of U.S. box office goes to the rights holders. Add international at 20%-40%, streaming revenues (I don’t know how they’re calculated), and for some movies (“Barbie” and “Star Wars” being examples) mechandise. Deduct production costs, usually high and often VERY high, and promotion costs, which are usually high and sometimes VERY high, for the bottom line.
“Sound of Freedom” is a simple case. Made for 21st Century Fox for $14.5 million; shelved by Disney after they bought the Fox catalog in 2019; sold to Angel Studios this past spring for maybe $5 million to judge from a public filing.
$125 x 60% = $75 million, minus $5 million = $70 million profit with more to come. A bunch of these Hollywood blockbusters have been losing money. No wonder the “progressive” media has been sliming that movie.
Now let’s look at Oppenheimer. Made for $100 million. Rule of thumb: To begin making any profit after production and promotion costs, the box office (which is usually mostly U.S.) has to be triple the production cost. Will Oppenheimer’s box office hit $300 million? We shall see, but I strongly doubt it.
Provo, Utah’s Angel Studios runs a far, FAR leaner ship. Believe me, kids, Hollywood is jealous as hell, and has been sending the flying monkeys of the media out to attack their big hit. More will come.
SOF is an incredible movie and well worth the price of admission.
Hollywood also hates the fact that Mel Gibson did the final edit. They already did their best to cancel him once.
I can’t find any confirmation that Gibson did the final edit, or that he was involved with “Sound of Freedom” other than to praise it. If you can produce a link that verifies what you claim, please post it and I’ll change my mind.

“Unbroken” is a great book. I decided I wouldn’t be able to handle the movie, and besides, it left out the end of the story.

I am planning to see this movie because without the twio A Bombs, an invasion of mainland Japan would have been a very bloody affair with hundreds of thousands of casualities from banzai and kamikazii attacks and military installations being centered in civilian popuations. The two bombs brought the Japanese to their knees and the atomic bomb preserved world piece despite Oppenheimer being a fellow traveller and very naive about the threat posed after WW2 into the Cold war by Stalin and his successors
I for one wouldn’t exist, or i would be someone else, bc my dad was shipping out as a medic for the invasion of Japan when the bombs were dropped, and would almost certainly never come back.

I guess the whining woman must have loved the series a couple of years ago about Los Alamos and what went on there. It was so heavily slanted towards illicit sex and devious dealings among the families that were locked on the base that it completely overlooked the bomb story. It started off actually discussing the problems they were having building the bomb and then went on an infidelity wave that was just disgusting. Graphic sex scenes and language as well as deviant practices aplenty and almost nothing about the scientists and the bomb. Pure Hollywood.
I’m still upset about no women being allowed to score a goal when they lost to the retired men 12 – 0.
I was planning to see this movie but I have changed my mind because of three grautitious scenes of nudity and sex that have offended Hindus
