Video Shows as Many as 40 Teenagers Beating Up Marines in California

“Get that f—er! Get that f—er! F–k that f—er up!”

An online video shows almost 40 teenagers allegedly beating up three Marines on a California beach over the weekend.

No one knows exactly what started the fight.

From KTLA:

The video was taken on May 26 and shows several Marines walking away from a crowd of what appears to be primarily teenagers and young adults when someone seems to throw something at one of the Marines.

The Marine then turns and charges into the crowd where he is punched several times.

Later, the video shows two Marines curled up in the fetal position as they are punched and kicked by several crowd members.

Hunter Antonino, one of the Marines, said the assailants “stomped on” and “beat up” the three men:

“We told them we were Marines so they would leave — but they didn’t. They just kept going at it,” one of the attacked servicemen, Hunter Antonino, told KCAL News.

As they start walking up some steps, some in the group behind yell for them to “get the f–k outta here” — before one runs up from behind and sucker-punches the trailing serviceman.

After a brief hesitation, the Marine drops what’s in his hand and charges at his attacker, knocking him down.

As the mob teenagers surround the Marines, one screams, “Get that f—er! Get that f—er! F–k that f—er up!”

Another asks the Marines, “What’s good n–ger,” while another calls them “p—ies.” The guy who did the initial punch poured a drink over the Marines.

It is under investigation:

“This is considered an assault with a deadly weapon because of the amount of suspects we are investigating,” said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Frank Gonzalez. “The weapons that were used were their feet while these victims were on the ground. So, regardless if the victims choose prosecution or choose medical attention the sheriff’s department is going to investigate this to the fullest and try to determine who the suspects are.”

I looked as carefully as I could, and it seemed to me those brutes were white.

    The attackers were white.

At the very least, that is a mixed mob….that’s obvious from any view of the video.

As for the “attackers”…there were many but the 9 who were arrested were all juveniles so we won’t see their mug shots.

CincyJan in reply to gonzotx. | May 31, 2023 at 9:58 am

I presume that is the case, since the only other reports I’ve heard of teen mobs were black teens. But this video has bewen doctored to make it hard to identify anyone, even the victims. There are three dark circles roaming the screen. So I’m not surew.

We didn’t have a race problem in America we have a problem race

If I were the CO that jurisdiction would be declared off limits until they find and charge everyone involved.

broomhandle in reply to CommoChief. | May 30, 2023 at 5:46 pm

If I were the CO, I would station a whole platoon there every day until this is resolved.

CommoChief in reply to broomhandle. | May 30, 2023 at 6:16 pm

Sounds tough. Interesting approach, send a platoon to town to do what exactly? Stand around? Become a bigger target for a potential drive by shooting as tensions escalate? It isn’t as if you can send them out with weapons and a combat load of ammo. Even if you did what exactly do plan on them doing 24/7? Sending an armed platoon to town to shoot civilians seems like a very bad idea to me.

Depriving the jurisdiction of the money spent by service members is a pretty big slap to a community near a military installation. They depend on the payday rich single service members blowing his/her $ and upon the patronage of the military families to support their local economy.

Mauiobserver in reply to CommoChief. | May 30, 2023 at 6:30 pm

No but sending in a whole regiment with combat loads and orders to take no prisoners is appealing but clearly not the correct answer.

The correct answer would be a massive manhunt to track down all of the thugs. Arrest them and transfer them to a different jurisdiction and prosecute, convict and incarcerate them for several years each.

CommoChief in reply to Mauiobserver. | May 30, 2023 at 7:27 pm

Did you mean to imply that the manhunt be led by the military and not civilian LEO?

Mauiobserver in reply to Mauiobserver. | May 30, 2023 at 9:19 pm

Civilian LEO manhunt. Prosecuted in a different jurisdiction as it is difficult to imagine these “kids” would be convicted in this city or if so face any real penalties.

Though I doubt that there would be a change of venue to a court where they could face real consequences.

I doubt that any of the attackers will ever receive any meaningful punishment.

I remember hearing a story about the CO at LeJeune many years ago making Jacksonville, NC off limits to all personnel after a couple of dumb privates (are there any other kind?!) got rolled at a club one weekend. Sent out shore patrols to enforce it.

As I remember it, the mayor begged the CO to lift the restriction within the week.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to The Packetman. | May 30, 2023 at 6:36 pm

Packetman: We’ve all heard the story; just plug in a command name, any command name, and the story is the same. I heard the same about Norfolk VA, Camp Pendleton, and Twentynine Palms. The c.losest to truth I ever heard was about “NoF..k” VA, and it wasn’t the merchants. It was the local cops.

When I was stationed in Pensacola in 1977 for my CTR training, we had air force on the command as well. Their CO made three places off limits to Air Force personnel. Seems they were either being cheated in for-money poker games, or outright drugged and rolled for their payday cash. I saw the bulletin in their barracks myself, so I know this was not some legend.

The names of those three places? Two VFW posts, and one American Legion post.

What little respect I had for those organizations took a hard hit.

CommoChief in reply to The Packetman. | May 30, 2023 at 7:34 pm

The potential loss of military payrolls being spent is a bigger deal than many realize. When we began to shut down many of the bases in Germany as they had been agitating for the German political class suddenly figured out exactly how much money was sloshing around from the US Military and some rapidly changed their tune. Too late of course.

A CO putting even a single establishment in town off limits can have a devastating impact on that place. Apply it to the entire jurisdiction and grant 4 day passes with busses to transport service members to some alternative place up the road. That jurisdiction will figure out how to find these thugs quick.

Let me point out something. Three Marines *should* have been able to leave a trail of thugs with broken bones and missing body parts after they were attacked, because Marines fight as a unit. Every one of those three knew exactly what would have happened if they fought back and crippled or even killed one of these young thugs. The Marines would not stand behind them, but instead would have them up on charges and out of the corps, while the civilian authorities (California, nach) would line up criminal charges and green-light every civil trial against them. In short, their future careers and lives would be sacrificed upon the pagan altar of Political Correctness.

Three against 40? Marines may be a tough lot, but, not that tough.

In this day and under present political conditions, I’m surprised the Marines were not arrested for interfering with our exalted minority Gavin’ some fun n’ (stuff).

You don’t fight a group of 40. You pick one thug and go 3:1 on him hard, then move down the line.

There’s a difference between this and a ‘friendly’ bar fight. I’m surprised none of the Marines were killed. People in the crowd certainly knew what was about to happen since they had their cameras out.

What do you think the other 39 thugs will be doing while you are going 3:1? Something tells me they just might turn that into 3 groups of 13:1 instead of just standing and politely waiting for you to finish and move on to the next one.

Andy in reply to georgfelis. | May 31, 2023 at 9:53 am

You’ve not fought many gang bangers have you?

1:1 or even 2:1 the tough guy wins. That’s not how gang brawls go. You are fighting 5 from all directions and if you get the better of 1-2 of them, they’ve got back ups more than willing to trade punches. They are exceptionally good at these attacks too.

I’ve rolled with a lot of marines, sorry but the hand to hand training is not all that unless they got skills from somewhere else. Ask any Marine stepping into a BJJ gym as a white belt.

In this situation- deploy your OC spray and exit the scene before the guns come out.

but take a step back, is the CO going to have their back on shore duty?

It’s Kalipornia, have those Marines been charged with something yet?

Bingo. The local “authorities” probably aren’t even really looking for the perpetrators.

These savages and their animalistic conduct are the fruits of a lawless society that perennially coddles, enables and lionizes criminal sociopaths as alleged “victims,” allowing them to visit their violent predations upon citizens with total impunity, unperturbed and unmolested by police, prosecutors or judges.

I have my stainless steel umbrella up so let the down ticks raineth.

I keep fighting the idea in my mind but, more and more, I understand WHY we had segregation. It was for safety, often that safety was a two way street.

I live in D.C. and I have encountered belligerent, racist hostility from local denizens “of color,” on numerous occasions, including a few years ago, when a black man threatened to stab me for “walking in his lane” on a narrow sidewalk.

That said, I should clarify that my comment makes no assumptions or presumptions of the racial makeup of the assailants in this incident, certain statistical realities, aside.

I call any person who engage in mob violence a “savage,” whatever his/her skin pigmentation or ethnic make-up.

Your comment is so manifestly stupid, inapposite and infantile, it doesn’t deserve a rebuttal.

Any person who compares mob criminality to innocents resisting Muslim terrorists’ efforts to murder them and others, is not only a dim-witted fool, but, a morally bankrupt fool, at that.

^ guyjones, the 3 “Karens” were infringing on the freedoms of the teens t0 peaceably assemble and celebrate at a -public- beach — which is neither an uncommon type of event, nor a bad location for it. If three -terrorists- had ordered the teens to stop their partying at a -public- beach, and the teens had responded by slapping the stupid out of the terrorists, wouldn’t you cheer?

-Justified- reactions to unjust attempts at domination by “Karens” or other terrorists are not immoral. The “Karens” had no more right to the public beach than did the teens.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to guyjones. | May 31, 2023 at 8:48 am

Guy, I was in DC several times at various Navy facilities including the Yards. In my admittedly limited sampling, the most arrogant and pushy were female blacks at the wheel of their leased Mercedes, with their “step aside, peasant!” driving to get to the parking lot. They then went into this or that building to sit at a desk and pretend to do a job far over their heads.

For the record, and no offense intended, but, of all the places I did my field work over 25 years, the only place more rude and nasty than DC was a town in eastern PA where I surveyed a school district. The district personnel weren’t too awful, but the townspeople were nasty, rude, and acted like the stereotype one thinks of when one hears “New York City”.

chrisboltssr | May 30, 2023 at 7:02 pm

You get the culture you venerate.

Public beach. The marines had no more right to use the beach than did the kids. It’s a free country and fireworks are a normal summer phenomenon in the U.S. The marines started some crap, and the kids finished it. I don’t have a problem with how it worked-out, but I do wonder why everyone seems to be defending the marine corps “Karens”.

“If your eye offends you, pluck it out” — improve your own behavior rather than unjustly harassing others because their behavior doesn’t suit you.

Mauiobserver in reply to BoboPhat. | May 30, 2023 at 9:24 pm

    Really.

Perhaps when you or your family offend a mob or 40 or so violent young men you will be equally understanding when you are beaten or worse.

Mob justice is a dangerous path to go down.

BoboPhat in reply to Mauiobserver. | May 30, 2023 at 11:35 pm

I don’t object to the sounds of Americans enjoying freedom. If the noise had bothered me, I’d have walked further down the coast to a more quiet spot. Treat others as you would want to be treated in their place is a simple rule to remember.

Mauiobserver in reply to BoboPhat. | May 31, 2023 at 12:20 am

Perhaps you don’t but it is also possible and in fact probable that if you attire or mere presence offended the mob you would be a victim.

Plenty of ordinary people have been viciously attracted for wearing a hat or shirt whose political of patriotic message set off the thugs.

BoboPhat in reply to Mauiobserver. | May 31, 2023 at 12:41 am

It must be terrible to live life as such a frightened creature. I put my faith in God and focus on behaving well myself. I also walk through crowds of people most days, right alongside drug dealers and addicts, violent thugs, gangs, and every other sort of poorly behaved persons. I’m aware of how we humans -can- behave, but I treat each person the same as I would treat you. Neither my presence, nor my appearance appears to offend anyone at all — although one young man did make a comment about me smiling while I was walking by — shouting after me “What you got to smile about?!” Jesus, and that’s all I need.

lc in reply to BoboPhat. | May 31, 2023 at 7:30 am

NY Post reports that one of the marines was hit by firework debris, so they asked the large group to please stop firing them off. A logical request, no?

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to lc. | May 31, 2023 at 8:52 am

Fireworks that can project debris are likely the kind illegal in California. No, I am not exaggerating to bash California; it has laws that are strict due to brush fire conditions and the like. If a firework does much more than just fizz and spit a few little sparks, (“safe and sane” was the term I believe), they are illegal.

BoboPhat in reply to lc. | May 31, 2023 at 9:47 am

No. It’s a public beach. If you were accidentally hit by a volleyball at a public beach, would you “ask” the people playing volleyball to stop -their- activity, or just move yourself 100 yards further down the beach? Public spaces are meant to be shared by all, not dominated by three entitled “Karens.”

GWB in reply to BoboPhat. | May 31, 2023 at 10:51 am

        No. It’s a public beach.
And the fact it’s an illegal activity means nothing?
Also, were they setting off the fireworks when the Marines arrived or did they move to the Marines’ location and begin setting them off?

So far what I’ve seen of your opinion on the matter is a terribly self-righteous concern troll.

BoboPhat in reply to GWB. | May 31, 2023 at 12:19 pm

Plenty of people speed while driving, but shouting at them for doing so is not the same as choosing to behave well oneself. We are never actually capable of controlling others, but we generally are each capable of controlling ourselves, despite failing at times. If we wish to be forgiven for our transgressions, then we should be equally forgiving of others.

The teens were no doubt violating ordinances or laws, and the same is true of every able-bodied American in these days of endless regulation. I’m no exception. I see my fellow citizens violating local ordinances, state, and even federal laws -each- -and- -every- -day-. If I say anything to them at all it is usually a friendly “Hello” or “Good morning!”

I wish for my countrymen to be free, to individually -choose- to behave well, and to not be subject to endless tyranny in the name of government regulation or to pacify control-freak “Karens” — neither of which have ever actually ended bad behaviors among the public, but rather themselves constitute additional forms of bad behavior.

not_a_lawyer | May 30, 2023 at 9:28 pm

I’m having trouble understanding this. I grew up very close to San Clemente and my parents would take me and my siblings to their beaches once a week during the summer to play in the surf.

San Clemente is a Whitopia. It is the southernmost municipality in Orange County. South of San Clemente is Camp Pendleton Marine Base, doubtless where these marines are stationed. South of that is Oceanside which is somewhat downscale, but not black. Everything South of Oceanside is upscale white-dominated coastal suburbia.

Are these assailants black? It makes no sense. The closest heavily black jurisdiction to San Clemente would likely be Long Beach, which is a long 50 miles North, and they’ve got their own beaches up there. Maybe a carload might venture down to San Clemente, but not 40+ simultaneously.

The only way you’d get 40+ rowdy black teens on the San Clemente beaches would be to host a rap concert on the beach or something like that.

Are they Hispanic? Hispanics are all over the area but the concentrations of hard-core are from Santa Ana and points North, which is still a good 35 miles North, with beaches much closer, like Newport or Huntington.

Are they trying to tell us that a gang of 40+ white OC teens gang-assaulted Marines? The Hell you say. I don’t believe that. Most of OC is still upper-middle class whites, and their kids do not gang-assault Marines.

Some info is being withheld.

DEI normalizes color judgments and class-based bigotry, not limited to racism, sexism, ageism, etc. So, the Marines would be viable targets in the pursuit of social justice.

Fat_Freddys_Cat | May 31, 2023 at 8:49 am

Things never really change. When I was in the Navy in the 70s-80s we had to be prepared to defend ourselves from our “grateful fellow citizens”, both in the physical sense and watching out for pickpockets, cheats, etc. And when my Dad was a Marine in WW2 he and his mates were involved in the Zoot Suit riots (yes that was more than a song).

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Fat_Freddys_Cat. | May 31, 2023 at 9:00 am

In my four years, EVERY instance of violence I was aware of involved our exalted minority, including the slitting the throat and face of a white sailor right there in my barracks. (I still remember when I inadvertently walked into the corridor only to be told to go back to my room for a while,

A Navy investigator casually walked into the room that was The Crime Scene. His facial expression changed from “just a barracks fight, why was I called” to him blurting out “Jezuzz Aitch…!”

The slashed sailor lived, but his face was disfigured quite a bit. Never found out what happened to the brothers. And, it WAS brothers.

There were other, less harmful ones, but, in my again limited knowledge, it was never. white to start it, and never a Hispanic either.
