Online Mob Comes for Pregnant Nurse After Video of Confrontation Over Citi Bike Goes Viral

A nurse in New York has been placed on leave from her job after a video of a confrontation between her and a group of young black men arguing over a Citi Bike went viral.
Each side believed that they had the right to the bike. The nurse, who is pregnant, eventually backed down.

The Bellevue Hospital employee branded a “Karen” after she was caught on video allegedly attempting to hijack a Citi Bike that a black man claimed he had already paid for has been placed on leave, NYC Health + Hospitals confirmed to The Post.
A clip of the explosive encounter has raked in more than 40 million views on social media after it was shared on Twitter on Saturday, with the health care network labeling it “disturbing.”
“We are aware of the video involving a health care provider off duty and away from the hospital campus. The incident in the video is disturbing,” a spokesperson for NYC Health + Hospitals said in a statement Tuesday.
“The provider is currently out on leave and will remain on leave pending a review,” the statement continued. The woman has denied wrongdoing.
“As a health system we are committed to providing an environment for our patients and staff that is free from discrimination of any kind.”
The video, which starts mid-confrontation, shows the woman dressed in hospital-branded scrubs screaming for help as she tugs at the bike.
“Help! Help me! Please, help me,” she yells.
It’s ironic that she called for help. Following the Jordan Neely incident and the arrest of Daniel Penny, no one is likely to step in, in a situation like this ever again.

The attorney for the white New York City hospital worker who was accused of trying to take a rental bicycle from a Black man in a now-viral video says that the woman paid for the bike herself — and has the receipts to prove it.
A receipt shared with Insider shows payment for a Citi Bike on the app on the evening of May 12 in Manhattan; the bicycle was re-locked to its dock a minute later with no charge logged.
The Citi Bike identification number in the viral video is the same as the one on the receipt and the location matches the view seen in the video.
“It was her bike,” lawyer Justin Marino said in an interview with Insider on Thursday.
Marino said that bike was pushed back into its docking station after a young Black man and his friends told the woman — a pregnant NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue staffer — that the man had already paid for the same bike.
“She had reserved it, and then they pushed the bike back into the docking station, preventing her from taking it out again,” Marino told Insider.
Too many Americans enjoy joining a mob any time the opportunity presents itself. Social media makes the situation even worse. It’s sickening.

The majority of victims of the crimes committed by ‘blacks’ are themselves ‘black’. So I don’t see why not. This was almost certainly a target of opportunity.
These groups of thuggish young men, by and large, prey on those perceived as weak and isolated. They don’t tend to engage with people who appear to present a threatening or competent image. The thugs do perform a surface level analysis of a risk reward calculation in selecting their victims.
They tend to select women, the elderly, the disabled, the infirm or otherwise seen as a soft target. Very often they act against those isolated or alone while using their numbers to intimidate by a disparity of force or if resistance is offered use the numbers to overwhelm the victim.
This is going to further divide our society. One camp is going to always fall in support of the minority groups because they value their image as “allies” more than getting to truth if a situation. The other camp is going to be pushed to never believe stories where minorities are victims because of individuals that seek gain by constantly misrepresenting the situation. I read a Net York Post article on this video incident, and nearly all comments decried the Nurse’s actions as depicted in the truncated video, my immediate thoughts caused me to ask if there was any proof that the hulking young man had actually rented the bike. Now we find proof that the pregnant nurse did, in fact, rent the bike and was bullied into relinquishing it. This whole thing flew in the face of credibility that a pregnant nurse would even think to try to forcibly take a rent bike from a group of RoBNYs (Roving Bands of Negro Youths).
The big picture: you do not have a right of self-defense or claim to your own property against a favored identity group. You are supposed to surrender your life or property when confronted, any defense is a “crime”.
That is the reason she was fired and that would have been the reason for being arrested if she applied equal force to protect her property.
