Trump: ‘They Can’t Beat Us at the Ballot Box, So They Try and Beat Us Through the Law’

Trump: ‘They Can’t Beat Us at the Ballot Box, So They Try and Beat Us Through the Law’

“Even people that aren’t big fans have said…’This is not the right thing to do.’ It’s an insult to our country.”

Former President Donald Trump delivered a speech at Mar-a-Lago only hours after being arraigned in a Manhattan court on 34 counts of nothing. The video starts when he enters the room. I’ll spare you the drab from PBS.

I’ll add snippets below the video.

I think our nation is done for. There can never be any trust between us and the left/Democrats – EVER again.

For those who remain hopeful for some reason: red state DA’s MUST indict the Clintons, Pelosi, Kerry, Biden’s son and brothers, Schumer, AOC, Omar, etc or you will live in tyranny, starting today.

Looks like Biden knew he had classified docs BEFORE he concocted Mar-a-Lago. The hits keep coming. How nice for us all.

Ben Shapiro mentioned this as a MAD (mutually assured destruction) “treaty” with the Dems. But that is costly and no guarantee of effectiveness. That is small stuff compared to the real crimes the Left commits. I hate to think what effective measures would be required.

The Ds have finished their long march through the institutions. And we are beginning ours.

And when this worm turns, they will pay for their crimes. What they are doing here shows the desperation of a rear-guard action.

We might not win as soon as we want to, but our victory is inevitable. Everything woke turns to shit.

As Rorschach said, “I’m not locked in here with you, you’re locked in here with me!”

The woke can’t survive without us, but we sure as hell can survive and thrive without them.

“They can’t beat us at the ballot box”

But, Donald, they did. And will continue until stopped cold.

Mark Levin and Victor Davis Hanson have framed what is going on in stark and accurate terms. People in this country better wake up and throw off the yoke of repression hurled at them every day. Not just at Trump either, as the pages of LI shows quite clearly.

Two things can be and are true at once

Trump is being unjustly attacked by a weaponized prosecutor.

However Trump was defeated at the ballot box the following times

2018

2020

2022

So no they are not doing this because they can’t beat Trump at the ballot box they are dong this to try and influence Republican Primary voters to chose him BECAUSE he is easy for them to beat at the ballot box.

Obsession with a partisan tree, of a primary election far away, and blind to the forest here and now, an historic, infamous day for the nation. Off key and oblivious. Carry on with the theory, ad nauseum.

Name one thing I said that wasn’t true you cutist.

      Name it now

Democrats experienced a blue wave in 2018.

They won all three branches of the federal government in 2020

They defeated the Trump’s hand picked candidates again in 2020 in all of the swing states that will determine the next presidential election.

So yes two things are true at once they could easily win against Trump which is why they are doing what they know helps him in the primaries.

As always you have insults instead of arguments.

I could have also listed that Hillary didn’t contest the three states that allowed him to enter the White House, that the polling was dead right in 2016 and Hillary was a fool to ignore that it said three states would be in play, and that Hillary won the popular vote by the margin the polls said.

Being obtuse and engaging in name-calling shows who you are, and it’s not a pretty picture. Look in the mirror as you point fingers.

“Name one thing I said that wasn’t true you cutist.

        Name it now”

        Ordering people like a wokester!

Being a complete and utter bleep then as always I don’t expect cultists to behave like men or women.

Name ONE thing I said that wasn’t accurate.

Trump is claiming that the reason for this is Democrats can’t beat him at the ballot box (a very clear pitch for his nomination by the way).

That makes it worth pointing out they have beaten him at the ballot box every time since 2016.

Telling an asshole using insults instead of arguments as you did to instead actually debunk part of the offensive post isn’t wokeness and it is morons like you who have been losing the culture war for us.

I think if you had a choice of Christ or Trump you would pick Trump. I don’t think you are capable of standing anything besides Trump worship and it is eating you up that there are people who use their brains.

You are off the handle. Hardly ANY comment made was about Trump, but what was done to him and what it means in the greater scheme.

On the other hand, YOU jumped right in to partisan garbage on an unprecedented night. So sad.

And now you are emulating a wokester, making demands and juvenile remarks. Play the game by yourself.

Gonzo cap the being a moronic cultist, cap the worship of Donald J Trump our god is a jealous one.

You’re the one coming off as a hater.

Oh I showed up and called someone drunk?

You do realize behaving like a jackass as you are doing makes you look like a jackass yes?

Your idea of manors is just everyone agrees with me, nobody pushes back, I get to be disrespectful yet deserve respect my answer to that is no.

You are getting more respect than you give from me.

Your the one engaging in unnecessary personalization of others. You have some real anger issues, getting so incensed over comments at a web site. Really!

Respect? Stop calling people cultists and showing ignorance. There is no good reason why you jumped into the thread and started playing the partisan tribal war, sounding like a broken record. Do you EVER turn the record player off? And when called on it, you lash out. Jsut like a wokester. So spare it. You throw it, yet cannot take the slightest pushback. How old are you?

No, he isn’t. He’s responding to the ongoing pile-ons by you Only Trumpers in the only way you seem to understand.

healthguyfsu | April 4, 2023 at 10:41 pm

This is smart of him to use as a rallying cry, but I don’t think he is leading some huge voter surge that he is putting forth in his statement. Of course, it wouldn’t be much of a rallying cry if it just said…we haven’t done well at the ballot box but they’re still scared about being exposed.

I saw Trump’s attorney on Tucker. She said the indictment had the dates the election interfering events occured were in February 2017. The election occurred in November 2016.

Trump was already in the White House when the supposed election interference occurred.

I have seen no other lawyer speak to this online or on TV. Seems like a big deal to me.

The way I read it was that Cohen had already paid and his “invoice” was submitted and paid in ’17

Drago: “He’s not human, he’s a piece of iron.” Rocky IV

Trump has taken more punches from the Democrats over the past six years than Rocky did in five movies.

I thought Trump did a great job tonight and delivered a masterful speech, especially given the circumstances of being arraigned earlier. He is an amazing individual, and I don’t know how he does it—keeps on, going on.

I like Ron DeSantis and think he will make a great president—just not now.

In this moment of time, we must fight fire with fire. There is only one way forward: it’s Trump.

Fuzzy is wrong about us. That is pretty much how I see it I hate seeing people throw shade at each other. But that is where we are here.

I am disappointed.. The biggest legal event in our nation’s history, and where is Professor Jacobson? Maybe he will offer some insight today.

The biggest legal event in our nations history?

Determining if Wilson could imprison an anti-war activist for opposition to America’s entry into the first world war?

      Dredd Scott

Overturning of Roe vs Wade and Roe vs Wade

      Decision on Japanese Internment

      Brown vs Board of Ed

Nope a corrupt district attorney using his office to influence the Republican Primary with a case with a 0% chance shot that is the biggest legal event in our nations history……

What? I haven’t said anything to or about you, amwick. I actually think quite highly of you. But I’m wrong there? Interesting.

A bold statement from Rona Rino Romney:

We are learning that the greatest crime in Biden’s America is to be a Republican. Whether you are a parent at a PTA meeting, a pro-life American, or the former president of the United States, Democrats are going to come after you any way they can.

— Ronna McDaniel (@GOPChairwoman) April 4, 2023

With a hack like this, If you have any thoughts of ANY Republican winning a national election in 2024, you are deluded.

She did a another stellar job in Wisconsin, ALL the Republicans lost,

    ALL

Danny in reply to gonzotx. | April 5, 2023 at 11:39 am

Find me one Democrat in Wisconsin or anywhere else who when asked will confirm they voted against Rona McDaniel instead of voted against Donald J Trump just one.

Yesterday was yet another demonstration of Trump’s power at the ballot box (non outside of Republican Primaries).

I find the attack on pro-life Americans, and parents significantly more harmful and important than the one on Trump, failure to mention that and deciding those middle income people with a mortgage on their house who have to deal with middle class issues aren’t important enough to you utterly incomprehensible.

The ordinary people are the entire story of America. We do not have a rigid class system of false accusations against a knight are worst than false accusations against a peasant in this country.

Whatever you think of Rona McDaniel (a Trump appointee by the way) that was not a bad statement in any way.

Apparently those 34 counts that were reported due to a link was correct. So, who leaked them because that is a crime in NY. His wife confirmed Bragg has Trump nailed on felonies so how come he didn’t list any in the Indictment? Is he just hoping a Judge will toss the whole thing and then Bragg will refuse to say just what felonies leaving it super secret and open to endless speculation on commenting “he committed felonies and I have the proof” pulling his won version of Schift?

    mailman in reply to diver64. | April 5, 2023 at 4:24 am

Nor could he list a law that was broken 😂😂 And last time I checked the crime of mean tweets wasn’t illigal…well not yet anyway.

gonzotx in reply to mailman. | April 5, 2023 at 5:32 am

They just convicted a man of a sarcastic meme from 2016 , political interference… NY of course

Apparently there is no first Amendment anymore

The mystery second crime was a planned, subsequent bookkeeping entry intended to coverup the first fraudulent booking entry.

The speech by Trump was pretty good. He was able to effectively lay out the history of the d/prog shenanigans, legal and otherwise, without it becoming a pity party.

This is the tone he should take going forward. List the ways the d/prog tried and failed to ‘get Trump’ and by inference the populist right but without coming across as whiny. Become more of a ‘happy warrior’ like Reagan insofar as he can do so while not seeming phoney.

The man is clearly in possession of the inside track for the GoP nomination in ’24. His current plurality isn’t a majority and he does have some work to do in convincing those GoP primary voters who don’t currently support him to join his campaign.

IMO, the way to do it is to discuss what he did wrong his first term and how he will fix those errors in his second term; shows humility and growth. Then keep the campaign focused on the issues of the Nation today and ’24. While there is overlap from ’16 and ’20 there are new challenges while the older challenges have gotten far worse.

gonzotx in reply to CommoChief. | April 5, 2023 at 10:32 am

For God sakes, President Trump is NOT going to “show” humility, that’s not in his wheel house

We’ve had hundreds of republicans groveling for forgiveness, and that’s actually what your asking in effect

You want a Jeb, Paul Ryan, Romney, , you go for it. They all eat humble pie for you big time…

We need a War President and he is our War President

Danny in reply to gonzotx. | April 5, 2023 at 11:41 am

The American people have repeatedly voted against the kind of show you are advocating for.

The only kind of politician who gets to decide anything is a man or woman who has won the general election.

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | April 5, 2023 at 12:47 pm

No that’s not it at all. What I think would help him to attract enough GoP primary voters to achieve A majority in the various GoP State primaries is to acknowledge his mistakes and failures from his first term. Hit them head on, take responsibility and articulate what he learned and how he will that experience to prevail on those issues in a second term. That’s not groveling that’s adult behavior.

For example simply acknowledging the failure to get the border wall fully built. Accept responsibility for it; and pivot to a promise, say something like:

‘I should have vetoed the budget Ryan and McConnell sent up without the funding. The swamp was much deeper than I realized and I won’t make the same mistake twice. Next time I will VETO any budget sent to me w/o fully funding a border wall along the the entirety of the US/Mexico border’.

That sort of statement acknowledges the failure, accepts responsibility for the failure, demonstrates he learned from the failure and declares the specific action he will undertake to prevent future failure so he can deliver on the promise of a border wall.

I don’t see anything objectionable about what I described and recommend here. We are all human and share human frailties, we need to be able to acknowledge we have feet of clay and make errors lest we be consumed by hubris. We ain’t infallible and neither is Trump.

Insisting that Trump doesn’t make errors or if he does that he should run from them instead of acknowledging, addressing and laying out how he has learned from them and a promise fix them might play to the plurality of GoP voters, maybe not, what it definitely won’t do is expand the number of GoP primary voters who are currently unconvinced to support Trump in GoP primary.

gonzotx in reply to CommoChief. | April 5, 2023 at 1:03 pm

acknowledging his failure to get the border wall fully built?

Dear God, were you hiding in a cave during their persecution of him and the wall non stop, by his own party no less. They refused to fund it, over and over again and refused to release monies that he wanted to transfer from other agencies

The failure of the wall was NOT Trumps fault, look to your nice and polite RINOs like Paul Ryan, Romney, Cronyn, McConnell fot that!

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | April 5, 2023 at 3:34 pm

          gonzotx,

The DC establishment including Ryan, McConnell certainly did refuse to provide funding for the border wall. That’s why I stated that very fact.

What you keep ignoring is Trump could have chosen to VETO the budget as long it didn’t include full funding for his signature campaign promise.

Instead he allowed himself to be rolled by Ryan and McConnell on this issue. He could have chosen to FIGHT but instead signed the budget without the full funding attached.

That is what happened. There isn’t any ambiguity or nuance involved. This is the sort of thing Trump needs to be willing to address in order to attract uncommitted GoP primary voters and secure a majority in the Primaries.

If he is unwilling to reach out to those voters and hasn’t secured enough delegates to achieve a majority then a brokered convention, where the establishment runs the show, is going to occur. I don’t think that’s going to be to Trump’s benefit. IMO, avoiding that scenario by attracting more GoP primary voters than he has now seems a better choice.

No crying from you if Trump gets effed in a backroom deal full of all sorts of shenanigans by the establishment at a brokered convention as long as you keep rejecting the idea of doing what it takes to avoid a brokered convention.

PODKen in reply to CommoChief. | April 5, 2023 at 1:57 pm

It might help … but Trump will do none of that … it just ain’t gonna happen.

CommoChief in reply to PODKen. | April 5, 2023 at 3:39 pm

IDK, he’s done it several times already. He’s a smart guy and knows he he is vulnerable on the border wall and Covid response by the Federal govt under his watch. He has to know his opp will exploit these vulnerabilities and understand it’s better to get out in front of them by addressing them head on.

That way he remains in control of the conversation and can pivot to how his experience as POTUS and in dealing with the DC Swamp up close makes him a better choice while offering the opportunity to present solutions to rectify previous errors.

They’re not basing it on ‘the Law.’ Rather they base it feelz and look for a pretext.

But they are beating you at the ballot box, Donald. By cheating, mind you, but a win is a win all the same.
