World Athletics Bans Biological Men From Competing In Women’s Events
“Decisions are always difficult when they involve conflicting needs and rights between different groups, but we continue to take the view that we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all other considerations”
Finally some sanity in the international sports world. World Athletics—the organization that oversees international track and field events—has issued a decision to ban men, including “transgender” ones, from women’s sports.
World Athletics on Thursday announced its decision to exclude transgender female athletes who have been through male puberty from world rankings competitions.
The international governing body for track and field and other running-related athletic events said its decision would have no consequences for athletes right now because there are no transgender athletes competing internationally.
“World Athletics conducted a consultation period with various stakeholders in the first two months of this year, including Member Federations, the Global Athletics Coaches Academy and Athletes’ Commission, the IOC as well as representative transgender and human rights groups,” the organization said.
“It became apparent that there was little support within the sport for the option that was first presented to stakeholders, which required transgender athletes to maintain their testosterone levels below 2.5nmol/L for 24 months to be eligible to compete internationally in the female category.
“In terms of DSD regulations, World Athletics has more than 10 years of research and evidence of the physical advantages that these athletes bring to the female category.
Apparently, the decision is subject to change in the future, based on further study, but as of now, there are no biological men claiming to be women competing at the international level.
World Athletics has banned male to female transgender athletes from competing in women’s events – effective from March 31 this year.

Fox News continues:
“However, there are currently no transgender athletes competing internationally in athletics and consequently no athletics-specific evidence of the impact these athletes would have on the fairness of female competition in athletics.
“In these circumstances, the Council decided to prioritize fairness and the integrity of the female competition before inclusion.”
World Athletics president Sebastian Coe said the rules wouldn’t last forever.
“We’re not saying no forever,” he said, via BBC.
World Athletics said there would be further studies done to consider transgender athletes’ inclusion in sports.
. . . . “Decisions are always difficult when they involve conflicting needs and rights between different groups, but we continue to take the view that we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all other considerations,” Coe said. “We will be guided in this by the science around physical performance and male advantage which will inevitably develop over the coming years. As more evidence becomes available, we will review our position, but we believe the integrity of the female category in athletics is paramount.”
Needless to say, people have thoughts:
The 100M world record for women, set by Florence Griffith-Joyner, is 10.49 seconds.
The HIGH SCHOOL boy's record is under 10 seconds.
The evidence is rather overwhelming. https://t.co/yyeto0xDJW

World aquatics & world athletics based on the evidence available (that’s every Olympic results ever & all peer reviewed studies) now acknowledged males in a sports category designed to give females equal opportunities is cheating! Like we have always know. Compete where you…

World athletics have finally seen sense and banned transgender women who have gone through male puberty from taking part in women’s sport. Common sense prevails.

You can’t ban people from competing in categories for which they were never eligible.
What @WorldAthletics did was reaffirm that female categories are for females.https://t.co/xgZJtUjd13

about time someone stood up to the madness.
Backbone from an institution in rejecting the woke trans ideology and in protecting not only the female participants but the integrity of their sports is refreshing.
It’s up to ALL of us – in any way possible, no matter how small – to stand up to this leftist sabotage of our nation.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we can define her. We have the science. We have the ability to discern who is female. She will be that woman. The same as she was before. Better… stronger… faster… feminine.
And the lawsuits begin in 3… 2… 1…
Human rights or human rites? The advocates of genderfication and conflation of sex and gender are the same progressive liberal sects that gave the world diversity, political congruence, Levine’s follies, and the wicked solution, among other forward-looking practices. Lose your Pro-Choice ethical religion, your twilight faith, your class-disordered ideologies. Sequester the albinophobic images and rhetoric.
Of course, there was this crap just the other day.

Start thinking about what kind of clown these ‘first place finishers’ are.
The extraordinarily narcissistic kind.
Gotta wonder how much of this was Sebastian Coe’s doing.
He’s a mench.
But in America
Not so much
There is not much more basic than male/female. It’s not difficult to understand. Nearly everyone starts out as a boy/girl. Compare to gravity, it always exists, desire does not, will not alter reality.
This is hatred of God for making us the way we are. “Reality” is one of the names of God.
This nonsense started when they allowed Oscar Pistorius to run with an artificial mechanical device. He had no right to run.
This is after a decade of annual debate at the USATF meetings in America. Those meetings have always been no-nonsense. The non-binary delegate who elected to participate spent all of their lime lecturing about pronouns and avoided the tough scientific questions.
Starting in the 1970s, USATF struggled with elevating women in the sport. The AAU was very high handed in their treatment of women, so the sport of track and field and long distance running lobbied congress to pass the Amateur Sports Act. That led to the formation of the US Olympic Committee and in turn the USATF which bypassed the AAU. So, from the start, there has been an effective political movement within the sport to promote women. The trans community did not stand a chance against that block.
Very interesting! I thought this decision was the result of a miracle. I still do.
But will they ban the remaining 5,684,322 genders?
“As more evidence becomes available, we will review our position”
This will be interpreted as an invitation for the full weight of the mob to descend upon them.
Clearly unconstitutional. Nancy Pelosi should impeach all these “World Athletics” right wingers.
It took balls to make this decision.
Excellent decision but I don’t like some of the weasel words leaving the door open. The proper response to a complaint that this “isn’t fair” is that allowing biological males to compete is not fair to the 99.9% of women athletes who are biological females.
Presumably any competitions that are affiliated with this organization will not be able to operate in Minnesota, or in any other state where the laws ban discrimination between real women and pretend ones. Small loss. The majority of Minnesotans voted for and support the Dems who made their law on this matter. Let them be shut out of world-level competitions until they change their minds.
The big entities I see influencing is
NAIA/NCAA / USATF / Olympic Comm / and then WA(C).
The high school and collegiate battles are a big deal. One to watch is whether Footlocker XC allows trannies. I know at the state level and even meet level the trannies have destroyed womens sports for high school.
For High School Cross Country- Footlocker is it. When Footlocker falls, distance running as a sport has fallen for girls. What makes that interesting is the meet has been held in San Diego with 4 regional qualifying meets preceeding a week or so earlier. If they stand against trannies – the geography of those meets may have to also change.
So sane adults are finally found in charge somewhere. But sadly, not in the USA.
When comedy becomes reality.
