German Investigators: Pro-Ukrainian Group Blew Up Russia’s Nord Stream Pipelines

German Investigators: Pro-Ukrainian Group Blew Up Russia’s Nord Stream Pipelines

German State Media: a rogue six-member team on a rented yacht blow up undersea pipelines.

Days after Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with President Joe Biden in the White House, the German state media outlets published a report claiming a pro-Ukrainian group was responsible for destroying the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

According to a report jointly published by the German state TV ARD, Die Zeit newspaper, and other public broadcasters, six pro-Ukrainian saboteurs sailed the high seas in a rented yacht to carry out the blasts that destroyed the Russian pipelines in late September. The report cited official German investigators and claimed no evidence tying the Ukrainian government or any other state actor to the incident.

The German persecutors are reported to have located the yacht used in operation and recovered traces of explosives used in the blasts. The identity of the perpetrators or the masterminds has not yet been made public.

German weekly Die Zeit reported Tuesday:

German investigative agencies have reportedly made a headway in solving the attack on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines. According to the joint research by the ARD [Berlin studio], the ARD political show “Kontraste,” SWR and DIE ZEIT, it was possible largely to reconstruct how and when the blasts were carried out. The evidence points to Ukraine. But, investigators have not yet found any clue as to who might have ordered the attack. (…)

According to information available to the ARD [Berlin] studio, Kontraste, SWR and ZEIT, the investigators managed to identify the boat that was supposedly used in the secret operation. It is apparently a yacht rented from a Poland-based company, reportedly owned by two Ukrainians. The investigation shows that the secret maritime operation was carried out by a team of six people. It is said to have been five men and one woman. The group consisted of a captain, two divers, two diving assistants and a doctor, who reportedly brought the explosives to the scene [of the blasts] and planted them there. The nationality of the perpetrators is said to be unclear. The attackers used professionally forged passports, which are said to have been used, among other things, to rent the boat.

The investigations show that the team sailed out of Rostock (Eastern German port) on September 6, 2022. The equipment for the clandestine operation is reported to have been delivered beforehand to the port in a delivery truck. The research uncovered that the investigators subsequently managed to locate the boat again the following day in Wiek [a port in the eastern German island of Rügen] and later on the Danish island of Christiansø, northeast of Bornholm. The yacht was then returned to the owner without cleaning [the traces of the explosives]. According to the [media] research, investigators recovered traces of explosives from the table in the cabin. According to information available to ARD [Berlin] studio, Kontraste, SWR and DIE ZEIT, a Western secret service is said to have tipped off European partner agencies in the autumn, i.e. shortly after the destruction, in which they blamed that a Ukrainian commando team was responsible for the explosions.

Berlin Remains “Cautious,” Won’t Rule Russian “False Flag” Narrative

According to media reports, the German government was “cautious” about pinning the blame on Kyiv based on the latest revelations and still considered that Kremlin could have carried a “false flag operation” of blowing up its pipeline — a lucrative source of revenue for the Russian wartimes economy.

“Speaking on the sidelines of a European Union defense ministers meeting, Pistorius said some experts also had raised the possibility of a so-called false flag operation by a group pretending to be Ukrainian,” the Associated Press reported Wednesday.

On Thursday, Moscow dismissed German media claims and blamed the West, particularly the U.S., for the incident. The BBC reported:

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the report a “co-ordinated fake news media campaign” and told the state news agency Ria-Novosti those who attacked the pipeline “clearly… want to divert attention.”

Russia has blamed the West for the explosions and called on the UN Security Council to independently investigate them.

Based on the sophistication of the covert operation and the type of explosives, initial German investigations had pointed to unnamed “state actors” for the blasts.

The Nord Stream blasts knocked out Russia as the main natural gas supplier to Germany and western Europe. Before President Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine last February, Russian exports amounted to over 55 percent of Germany’s total gas demand.

Again whos the world’s biggest Ukrine cheerleader? Why its the same regime that said they would blow you the pipeline.

    They were just “Plumbers.”
Of course they were formerly US Navy demolitions experts with 15 years of service. They are humble residents of Langley, VA.
They happened to have shaped charges and communication equipment capable of encrypted undersea transmissions to set off the detonations from miles away.
    They really liked Ukraine.

    (Sarcasm)

    ITS TOTALLY IMParrssiSSIBLE !11!!
    NATION STATE ACTORS!!!!11
SEAL SQUAD TEAM DELTA SIX RAINBOW ECHO!11!!!

    Except when it’s not.

If you are an Explorer Mixed Gas Diver (60m), some of the theory sessions and open-water dives may not be necessary, depending on your level of deep-diving experience and familiarity with the dive kit appropriate for an 80m dive. This is a continually assessed course during which students must reach the required performance standards.

An Advanced Mixed Gas Diver (80m) is competent to plan conduct open-circuit dives with mandatory decompression using hypoxic, normoxic and hyperoxic trimix to dive to a maximum depth of 80m. You could do this course at a regional event, local club or a Technical centre. Not all clubs and technical centres run Advanced Mixed Gas Diver (80m) courses, so please check if you are interested.

book your place on a scheduled Advanced Mixed Gas Diver (80m) course online now.

Based on assistance vs. GDP ratios Poland is far and away the biggest Ukraine cheerleader making everyone else, including the US, look cheap in comparison. I don’t recall them saying they would blow up the pipeline though.

A group of pro-Uke sympathizers, rogue no less. A story like this appears now, why? Mischief afoot.

Bet the captain of yacht was the woman – Adm Rachel Levine.

Such terrible lies

eugyppius, yesterday:

The plausibility of the Nord Stream attacks being the work of divers on a rented yacht who planted eight to sixteen explosives – the equivalent of many hundreds of kilogrammes of TNT – on four pipelines at the considerable depth of 80 metres, is something my readers will have to decide themselves. I’m very confident that our enthusiastic fact checkers will take vastly less interest in this latest reporting; indeed, as the story echoes through the German media, it seems our journalists have already forgotten their misgivings about anonymously sourced investigative pieces. I do find it surprising that both American and German officials seem willing now to throw Ukraine under the bus – even in this attenuated way – for no apparent purpose beyond serving the public a better alternative to Hersh’s story than the threadbare Russia-did-it thesis.

Wow…. amazing story. Was the first mate Gilligan? State-craft level operation carried out against Germany by an elite if not supernatural crew about a tiny boat.

“Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this Baltic port
Aboard this tiny ship.”

“Pro-Ukraine group” a.k.a US special warfare/underwater demolition.

chrisboltssr | March 9, 2023 at 1:55 pm

Yeah, pro-Ukraine group did this, aka the “Navy Seals”.

Seymour Hirsch’s story hit too close to hime.

I can see that everyone else is as impressed with the credibility of this report as I am.

Russ from Winterset | March 9, 2023 at 2:23 pm

The thing that makes Hirsch’s story unbelievable to me is the fact that the man who would have to give the plan a green light would be….Joe Biden. A man who couldn’t pour piss out of a boot even if you printed the directions on the heel. And even if he did approve the plan, do you think he would be able to keep his mouth shut about the operation?

I’m still leaning towards the “bad/deferred/nonexistent Russian maintenance” theory, but sabotage by Ukrainian assets or private actors acting on behalf of the Ukraine would be in second place.

JackinSilverSpring | March 9, 2023 at 2:33 pm

Given how egregiously our government has already lied to us about so many other things, why should we believe it about this?

LOL.

Now, pull the other leg.

We know the truth, the pedophile in Chief already confessed.

We were assured by 99% of media and 100% of the Biden Admin that it must be Russia Russia Russia, despite Potus and #2 State Dept both heavily insinuating that they were absolutely confident the pipelines would be ‘dealt with’ in the event of a Russian invasion.

Well, it is true that this was done by a Pro-Ukrainian group: The Biden Admin working through the CIA/DOD and, probably, its similarly minded European allies.

Makes more sense than the nonsensical original theory that a country would blow up its own income producing infrastructure.

Among other problems, renting a boat with false passports leaves a pretty cold trail.

Anyway, it’s murder on the pipeline express.

There does need to be a real bank account. Reminds me of the WTC bomber, especially when he went back to get his deposit.

Experienced divers who are also experienced with explosives is a small community.

Wait, wait, wait!!! I thought that it was a vast conspiracy between the US and Norway as reported on LI by the same author, Vijeta Uniyal, exactly a month ago.

Russia Demands ‘International Probe’ After Bombshell Report Claims Biden White House Ordered Hit on Stream Pipelines

Report by Seymour Hersh claims Biden Admin ordered CIA to blow up Russia’s Baltic Sea natural gas pipelines to Germany.

Biden returns from Kiev with a consensus and cover-up.

No word about who blew up the pipeline for months and suddenly just after allegations that Brandon ordered it people come out of the woodwork claiming to know who did it. Color me skeptical.

Pro Tip: When someone tells you they are going to do something then it happens it was probably them who done did it.

Both Biden and Nuland promised it would be destroyed. After the twitter files, the US doesn’t need to directly get their hands dirty if they can pay someone to do their bidding.

The Polish Sikorski thanked the US for blowing it up right after it happened.

Lets not forget that infrastructure is targeted in war all the time. The idea of Russian false flag was always nonsense.

Why would you blame Ukraine for fighting by targeting infrastructure?

Did we avoid targeting infrastructure in any war involving the United States (answer is absolutely not).

Russia, Germany, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, Mauretania you name it the nation targets enemy infrastructure the moment war begins.

Could we stop doing military propaganda? Unless you are a 9 year old you should know war is hell and not be under delusions about it, and you shouldn’t require propaganda to lie to you about how “good guys” never target infrastructure (particularly because WE target infrastructure if we go to war).

CaptTee in reply to Danny. | March 10, 2023 at 2:44 pm

Yes, targeting infrastructure is targeting your enemy’s ability to wage war.

    Back to the topic:
    First, Russia did it.
    Then the CIA did it.
    Now Ukraine sympathizers did it.
    Who next?
Maybe it was just poor workmanship!

henrybowman in reply to CaptTee. | March 10, 2023 at 3:30 pm

LI isn’t reporting any of these as conclusions.
They are reporting the various conflicting claims, as they come out.
Many times, the news is in who is making the claim and what the claim is.

Pure idiocy from people who say that Ukraine did something wrong. Let’s see. Russia attacked Ukraine and is waging a brutal war on it trying to kill as many people as possible and destroy the country. Thousands of Ukrainians have been killed, millions have been left homeless. Why wouldn’t Ukrainians try fighting back? Why wouldn’t Ukrainians try to blow up a Russian pipeline?

In the 1940’s, US bombed the hell out of Germany even though no German soldier ever set foot on US soil and no German bomb ever fall on US territory.
