Arizona Launches Hotline so Parents Can Report Critical Race Theory, Other Woke Subjects in Schools

Arizona Education Hotline

The state of Arizona seems to be pretty serious about keeping woke ideology out of their public schools. They have apparently launched a hotline for parents to call if they see Critical Race Theory or other related subjects being pushed in the classroom.

This is just the latest sign of the pushback against CRT, DEI, and gender theory that we have seen in other states.

FOX News reports:

Arizona launches ‘anti-woke’ parent hotline to report critical race theory, gender lessonsArizona is becoming the latest state to fight back against far-left indoctrination in the classroom by launching an “anti-woke” hotline for parents to report inappropriate course curriculum.Arizona Superintendent of Public Schools Tom Horne deployed the “Empower Hotline” for concerned parents to report topics their children are learning at school, including subjects like critical race theory and gender ideology.”We’ve asked parents to call in when they become aware of inappropriate teaching,” Horne told “Fox & Friends First” Wednesday. “As you mentioned, that would include lessons that focus on race or ethnicity rather than individuals on merit, gender ideology, social-emotional learning, or inappropriate sexual content.””Then when we get those calls, we investigate them to see if there’s inappropriate teaching that detracts from academics,” he continued.Horne launched the hotline this week, which operates during typical business hours, in a bid to fulfill his campaign promise of eradicating “inappropriate” material from classrooms across the state.

Of course, the Associated Press pushes liberal talking points on CRT:

The Arizona Republic reports that the “Empower Hotline” was a key campaign promise of Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne, who ran on a platform that promised to focus on math and reading instruction and “declare war” on conversations about emotions and identity.Arizona residents should report “inappropriate lessons that detract from teaching academic standards,” the department said on its website. That includes topics like social and emotional learning or that could be considered critical race theory.Critical race theory — a way of thinking about America’s history through the lens of racism — is not taught in state schools but it’s a hot-button issue for social conservatives who view the concept as an effort to convince white people that they are inherently racist and should feel guilty because of their advantages.

Tom Horne talks about the hotline in the video below:

Conservative leaders in other states should go on offense as Arizona has here.
