Biden at Black History Month Reception: ‘I May be a White Boy, but I’m Not Stupid. I Know Where the Power Is’

President Joe Biden did what he does best at the Black History reception: Cracking awkward jokes! Not kidding:

Biden: “You know, I know — I know real power when I see it, the Divine Nine.(Cheering)We’re honored to have presidents, all the presidents here tonight. I want to thank them for — and by the way, you know, I’m not — I may be a white boy, but I’m not stupid.(Laughter)I know where the power is. I know where the — you think I’m joking? I learned a long time ago about the Divine Nine. And that’s why I spent so much time at Delaware State campaigning and organizing my campaign in Delaware.”

The Divine Nine refers to historically black fraternities and sororities.

Biden made these remarks “after joking that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who is black, no longer talks to him.”

It’s so weird:

Jeffries “is here in spite of the fact that when he ran the first time I campaigned for him,” the president added before shouting out Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Steven Horsford (D-Nev.).“I campaigned for him too. You know what this means is, they don’t talk to me any more,” Biden said. “I’m only kidding.”
