Nonbinary California Teacher Brags About Helping Students Socially Transition Without Parents Knowing

“My job, which is a public service, is to protect kids… Sometimes, they need protection from their own parents,”

The new trend seems to be teachers nationwide openly bragging about “helping” students change their gender identity. The scariest part is they are doing this by keeping it a secret from their parents.

A Bakersfield, California, 9th-grade history teacher named Olivia Garrison brags about protecting students from their parents in the New York Times.

Garrison is a teacher at Del Oro High School:

The New York Times reported, “Olivia Garrison, a history teacher in Bakersfield, Calif., who is nonbinary… has helped students socially transition at school without their parents’ knowledge.”

“My job, which is a public service, is to protect kids… Sometimes, they need protection from their own parents,” Garrison told The Times. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The report concerned liberal parents who were outraged about teachers such as Garrison icing them out of their child’s care.

The district Garrison works for is also involved in blocking parents from being in the know on social transitions. For example, the California district has a pronoun change request form that students can fill out without their parents knowledge or involvement, according to its website. The district goes on to list Garrison as an adviser at the GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) club.

Parents are outraged—including the liberal parents:

One of the realities of the controversial policy has even outraged liberal parents like Jessica Bradshaw of Southern California.

The mother told the Times that she learned of her 15-year-old’s social transition after reading their preferred name on a worksheet.

“There was never any word from anyone to let us know that on paper, and in the classroom, our daughter was our son,” she said.

“It felt like a parenting stab in the back from the school system. It should have been a decision we made as a family.”

Kern High School District, where Garrison teaches, even boasts a flier on its website that allows students to change their preferred name and gender marker without a parent’s signature.

This creature is a child abuser.

“” It should have been a decision we made as a family.””

I think I see a big part of your problem.

The family might be part of the problem. Child abusers don’t do well in prison or in hell I’ll bet.

Starting to wonder if gender bending is the ONLY thing taught in today’s schools

Levine syndrome: seeking personal affirmation through medical, surgical, psychiatric, or social corruption of minors under a layer of privacy.

A nonbinary human may be treated as a child or adult in grooming circles. What are other modes of transbinary are there? A baby or a fetal-baby for social distancing, for another.

Past time to impose on the imposers like they impose on everyone else.

I just got back from Sam’s, shopping in a fairly, or use to be, fairly conservative town, now definitely purple…

Can’t tell how many lesbian couple there were.

Maybe it was lesbian shop at Sam’s day, I don’t know, but Dear God, these women go out of their way to look ugly and out of shape as they can

That weirdo forgot to mention offensively pudgy and duplicitous in their description.

That aside, one way to push some of these weirdos out of teaching may be something as simple as a dress code. No jeans, tie dies or tees. Khaki pants and a basic polo (school logo) or white/blue button up long sleeve. Closed toe shoes. Alternatively suit and tie / dresses. Gender normative of course. Hair color must be a natural color though not necessarily your natural color; brunette can dye blonde but not pink/purple/green/blue. Nails trimmed and neat and a single nail polish color on all digits if worn, otherwise clear.

Very boring is the goal. No more exciting than an insurance sales office on casual Friday in 1995. The lack of opportunities for individual expression and attention seeking via wardrobe might just push some of them out of teaching.

In short, maybe teachers need a uniform, not just the kids.

Teachers dressed professionally when I started first grade in 1952 and for every year after. Their job was a profession. Kids dressed neatly and our hair was cut properly for the boys. Standards went be the wayside years after that.

When I taught in the public schools back in the day you wore a button down collar shirt, tie, dress pants & shoes. You were also expected to have proper hygiene and be properly groomed. And that’s how it was. Nobody needed a “dress code”. You were considered a Professional Educator and were expected to dress and comport yourself accordingly. Guess those standards are long gone. Too bad that.

It’s the small and/or basic societal standards that are in many ways more important than more complex societal questions. When the simple, clear bright line societal expectations are allowed to be eroded it is a signal that others are under assault as well.

Very much parallel to broken windows. Enforce the easy things that are basic binary solution sets and the the environment that allows a further bite at the cultural apple by the weirdos doesn’t come to exist. These folks always shift the goalposts. Keep them at square one by refusing to yield the small, simple things and they don’t advance onward to assault the more complex/nuanced ones which lay beyond.

Like everything the left takes over (journalism is another example), they have destroyed teaching/education. A once-respected profession has been destroyed as such by a gaggle of groomers and anti-American bums and weirdos. Sad, and I’m not sure how or if it can be turned around, but for now, far too many teachers are leftist activists not educators, and as such, they deserve the same respect we reserve for antifa rioters and the burning, looting, murdering hordes of 2020.

Exactly. If somebody had to explain to you how to behave like an adult you didn’t belong in a professional position.

I was in high school in the late ’70s/early ’80s, and even then it was the norm for my male teachers to wear at least a tie and maybe a suit coat, and the female teachers wore dresses/skirts or occasionally slacks (P.E. teachers excepted).

There were rumors that certain teachers were overly “friendly” towards some students of the same sex, but it certainly wasn’t in your face.

None of them, straight or homosexual, had weird colored hair, or were otherwise flamboyant.

Never trust a “teacher” with weird colored hair.

And yet, many conservative parents continue to send their children to the government schools.

School choice could solve this problem. Fools could send their children to schools where this kind of thing was favored.

Yet in “conservative Texas with a “republican “ gov and legislature, we don’t have school choice

The reason for the reluctance of State level politicians to push to enact a meaningful choice is the power, money and influence of the ED lobby and ED unions. Another factor is family relationships with ED members. In many small towns, rural areas one spouse is an educator and the other runs a small business, farm, ranch.

Lots of small-town attorneys, accountants are married to educators. The natural constituency for better, more efficient govt services is the broad middle class which has lots of educators in their ranks. ED members voting as a bloc in a city council, county commission, state legislative race and especially a school board race is tough to overcome. One side has a built in funding and organizational advantage. Overcoming those deficits is the problem. Push too far unsupported and a good office holder who is solid on other issues will lose to a far worse candidate overall who is backed by the ED machine.

As always it boils down to local citizens selecting a candidate then backing that candidate with funding, volunteer work, knocking on doors, making phone calls. Then the difficult task of cleaning the local voter rolls. Unless these reformers find a candidate they trust to carry out reforms and very importantly that trusts the community reform group to match or come close to offset the ED machine advantages it won’t happen.

She(?) looks like “Pat” from “It’s Pat” recurring sketch on SNL. It is still on nbc.com (https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/its-pat-birthday-party/3505906), and spawned (yikes!) a movie in the same name.

They couldn’t do that today. Nosiree.

And now we finally have Mz. Garrison.
Come on down to South Park, and meet some friends of mine.

Note: in the olden days pre-union, the teachers had to look professional.

Still, I thought things went over the top when, after summer, one of our male teachers returned with a very nice and big, best but bushy mustache. Think Jerry Colona.

There was quite a controversy about it, and he was ordered to shave it off. He said no. There was a big fight, but ultimately he won out.

She really flatters herself to think she looks like a student. She looks like a clown or a bum.

Parents HAVE to meet their kids’ teachers. All of them, every year. If they look like this, get your children out of that school immediately. Any school that hires someone that looks like this cannot be trusted with your child’s education and future.

Dont kid yourself. These people are hired BECAUSE of the way they look.

What should really happen to these people is they should all be listed on national sexual abuser registers and NEVER let anywhere near children…EVER!

If I were a parent and this freakshow groomed my kid, I’d be suing the teacher for emotional distress on a minor.

Fat_Freddys_Cat | January 27, 2023 at 7:42 am

These teachers like to say that the students are “my kids” but you can bet if the teacher’s “advice” on gender bending leads to serious medical expenses or, God forbid, suicide that same teacher will throw her hands up and say “Hey! I’m not responsible! She ain’t my kid!”

Fat_Freddys_Cat | January 27, 2023 at 7:44 am

I wonder what other sorts of things she thinks it’s appropriate to hide from the parents. Drug use? Criminal activity?

Um… check out the program that allowed Nicolas Cruz to skate and skate until he killed 17 kids and injured 17 more at Parkland… the solution to which apparently is to take away my guns:

Florida’s Broward County, home to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, was among the leaders in this nationwide policy shift. According to Washington Post reporting, Broward County schools once recorded more in-school arrests than any other Florida district. But in 2013, the school board and the sheriff’s office agreed on a new policy to discontinue police referrals for a dozen infractions ranging from drug use to assault. The number of school-based arrests plummeted by 63 percent from 2012 to 2016. The Obama administration lauded Broward’s reforms…

Confessed killer Nikolas Cruz, a notorious and emotionally disturbed student, was suspended from Stoneman Douglas High. He was even expelled for bringing weapons to school. Yet he was never arrested before the shooting. In a county less devoted to undoing school disciplinary policies, perhaps Cruz would have been arrested for one of his many violent or threatening incidents. When Cruz got into a fight in September of 2016, he was referred to social workers rather than to the police. When he allegedly assaulted a student in January 2017, it triggered a school-based threat assessment—but no police involvement. The Washington Post notes that Cruz “was well-known to school and mental health authorities and was entrenched in the process for getting students help rather than referring them to law enforcement.”

In prior times, these types were ACCURATELY described as MENTALLY ILL.

There was a time when it simply would not be possible to walk one city block in public looking as these freaks do.

I will always be amazed when a liberal is amazed that the idiocy that the liberal has been supporting has gone too far…as if that wasn’t predictable from the very beginning. How can any human be that thick? I know, it makes me look thick for even asking.
