The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed it hit “all designated targets” in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday morning with Iranian-made Kamikaze drones:
It also claimed to have thwarted an attempt by Ukraine to breach its defences in the southern Kherson region.The ministry said: “During the day, Russia’s armed forces continued to strike with high-precision long-range air and sea-based weapons at military command facilities and Ukraine’s energy system.”All designated objects were hit.”
Iran has repeatedly denied supplying weapons to Russia. This is the second time in a week Russia has used these Iranian-made kamikaze drones in Ukraine:
The kamikaze drones used to attack Kyiv are thought to have been sold to Russia by Tehran.There is increasing concern among Ukraine’s allies of the impact Iranian support could have on the Russian army.Over the weekend, the Washington Post reported that Tehran is considering stepping up its supplies to Moscow, including with the sale of short-range ballistic missiles. These would be the first sold to Russia by an outside nation since the start of the war.
Israel might change its mind about the war:
In Israel, a senior minister suggested it was time for Israel to get off its diplomatic tightrope and send military aid to Ukraine.“There is no longer any doubt where Israel should stand in this bloody conflict,” Nachman Shai, the minister for diaspora affairs said. “The time has come for Ukraine to receive military aid as well, just as the USA and Nato countries provide.”
Putin’s BFF Dmitry Medvedev warned Israel not to do it: “Israel appears to be getting ready to supply weapons to the Kyiv regime. A very reckless move. It would destroy all bilateral relations between our countries.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky unleashed his anger on Telegram:
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has said Russia will receive “only fair punishment” following its heaviest bombardment of Kyiv and other cities since the start of the war.He said on Telegram: “All night and all morning the enemy terrorizes the civilian population. Kamikaze drones and missiles are attacking all of Ukraine. A residential building was hit in Kyiv.”The enemy can attack our cities, but it won’t be able to break us. The occupiers will get only fair punishment and condemnation of future generations. And we will get victory.”Ukraine’s military said it had destroyed 37 Russian drones since Sunday evening, or around 85% of those involved in attacks.
Ukrainian officials reported three deaths in a residential building, including a couple expecting their first baby. Authorities have rescued 19 people so far.
