Steve Bannon Sentenced to Four Months in Jail, Given $6,500 Fine for Contempt of Congress

Former Trump White House official Steve Bannon was sentenced to four months in prison and must pay $6,500 for contempt of Congress.

He refused to comply with a subpoena from the January 6th Committee:

Bannon was released pending appeal. If an appeal is not made, Bannon must surrender voluntarily by Nov. 15, U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols ruled.The Justice Department had recommended a six-month prison sentence and a $200,000 fine for former Trump aide Steve Bannon due to his failure to comply with a subpoena to appear before the House Select Committee investigating January 6.”I want to thank all you guys for coming,” Bannon said entering the courthouse Friday. “Remember this illegitimate regime, their judgment day is on eight November when the Biden administration ends. I want to thank you all for coming.”He quickly added, “And remember, take down the CCP. Thank you.”

Bannon is jailed for contempt of Congress. Eric Holder is still free.
