Federal Charges Against David DePape In Paul Pelosi Attack

Federal Charges Against David DePape In Paul Pelosi Attack

Charged with Assault and Attempted Kidnapping.

When I said we needed for evidence to come in before reaching conclusions about the attack on Paul Pelosi, I suggested from what was known “The ‘MAGA’ attacker turns out to be more Jared Loughner than anything …” It’s looking like that was the case, just like Loughner, someone suffering deep mental problems and delusions when he shot Gabby Giffords.

That attacker, David Depape, was reportedly pscychotic and suffering from a mental breakdown, and an FBI Criminal Complaint just filed seems to confirm he was delusional.

From the FBI Press Release:

A California man was charged today with assault and attempted kidnapping in violation of federal law in connection with the break-in at the residence of Nancy and Paul Pelosi in San Francisco on Friday.

According to the complaint, David Wayne DePape, 42, of Richmond, was arrested on Friday inside the Pelosi residence by San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) police officers responding to a 911 call from Paul Pelosi, husband of U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Paul Pelosi later described to police that he had been asleep when DePape, whom he had never seen before, entered his bedroom looking for Nancy Pelosi.

According to the complaint, minutes after the 911 call, two police officers responded to the Pelosi residence where they encountered Paul Pelosi and DePape struggling over a hammer. Officers told the men to drop the hammer, and DePape allegedly gained control of the hammer and swung it, striking Pelosi in the head. Officers immediately restrained DePape, while Pelosi appeared to be unconscious on the ground. As set forth in the complaint, once DePape was restrained, officers secured a roll of tape, white rope, a second hammer, a pair of rubber and cloth gloves, and zip ties from the crime scene, where officers also observed a broken glass door to the back porch.

From the Complaint Affidavit:

9. On October 28, 2022, at 2:23 a.m., San Francisco Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from Paul Pelosi (“Pelosi”) located at the Pelosi residence in San Francisco, California. Pelosi stated words to the effect of there is a male in the home and that the male is going to wait for Pelosi’s wife. Pelosi further conveyed that he does not know who the male is. The male said his name is David.

10. At 2:31 a.m., San Francisco Police Department (“SFPD”) Officer Colby Wilmes responded to the Pelosi residence, California and knocked on the front door. When the door was opened, Pelosi and DEPAPE were both holding a hammer with one hand and DEPAPE had his other hand holding onto Pelosi’s forearm. Pelosi greeted the officers. The officers asked them what was going on. DEPAPE responded that everything was good. Officers then asked Pelosi and DEPAPE to drop the hammer.

11. DEPAPE pulled the hammer from Pelosi’s hand and swung the hammer, striking Pelosi in the head. Officers immediately went inside and were able to restrain DEPAPE. While officers were restraining DEPAPE, Pelosi appeared to be unconscious on the ground. Officers removed a cell phone, cash, clipper cards, and an unidentified card from DEPAPE’s right shorts pocket. DEPAPE provided officers his first and last name. After officers asked DEPAPE if he had an ID on him, DEPAPE said it might be in his backpack on the back porch and later stated his backpack was near the broken glass. When officers removed DEPAPE from Pelosi’s residence, police body worn camera footage showed a glass door that appeared to be laminated glass, broken near the door handle. San Francisco Police Department recovered zip ties in Pelosi’s bedroom and in the hallway near the front door of the Pelosi residence. In addition, law enforcement searched DEPAPE’s backpack at the Pelosi residence, and they found, among other things, a roll of tape, white rope, one hammer, one pair of rubber and cloth gloves, and a journal.

***

13. Pelosi was interviewed by SFPD Officer Ariane Starks in the ambulance during transport to San Francisco General Hospital. Pelosi stated he had never seen DEPAPE before. Pelosi was asleep when DEPAPE came into Pelosi’s bedroom and stated he wanted to talk to “Nancy.”1 When Pelosi told him that Nancy was not there, DEPAPE stated that he would sit and  wait. Pelosi stated that his wife would not be home for several days and then DEPAPE reiterated that he would wait. Pelosi was able to go into the bathroom which is when he was able to call 9- 1-1. Pelosi stated that when the officers arrived, that was when DEPAPE struck him with the hammer.

The statement DePape gave was other-worldly, including a plan to wait several days for Nancy to return:

15. In a Mirandized and recorded interview of DEPAPE by San Francisco Police Department Officers, DEPAPE provided the following information:

a. DEPAPE stated that he was going to hold Nancy hostage and talk to her. If Nancy were to tell DEPAPE the “truth,” he would let her go, and if she “lied,” he was going to break “her kneecaps.” DEPAPE was certain that Nancy would not have told the “truth.” In the course of the interview, DEPAPE articulated he viewed Nancy as the “leader of the pack” of lies told by the Democratic Party. DEPAPE also later explained that by breaking Nancy’s kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into Congress, which would show other Members of Congress there were consequences to actions. DEPAPE also explained generally that he wanted to use Nancy to lure another individual to DEPAPE.

b. DEPAPE stated that he broke into the house through a glass door, which was a difficult task that required the use of a hammer. DEPAPE stated that Pelosi was in bed and appeared surprised by DEPAPE. DEPAPE told Pelosi to wake up. DEPAPE told Pelosi that he was looking for Nancy. Pelosi responded that she was not present. Pelosi asked how they could resolve the situation, and what DEPAPE wanted to do. DEPAPE stated he wanted to tie Pelosi up so that DEPAPE could go to sleep as he was tired from having had to carry a backpack to the Pelosi residence. Around this time, according to DEPAPE, DEPAPE started taking out twist ties from his pocket so that he could restrain Pelosi. Pelosi moved towards another part of the house, but DEPAPE stopped him and together they went back into the bedroom.

I dont believe this at all. They have had time to get their story straight I guess

But where was the alarms, the security , it’s ridiculous

JRaeL in reply to gonzotx. | October 31, 2022 at 6:22 pm

I have a feeling that DePape was told exactly what to say.

Are we to believe that Pelosi slept through the sound of the glass door being shattered by a hammer?

Are we to believe that the front door was unlocked? That really is the only explanation if it opened for the police without being opened by a third person.

Are we to believe DePape had two hammers with him? Which one was used to break the glass? The one he and Pelosi had hold of or the one the police found in the bag?

Are we to believe that police asked both men to drop the hammer if they believed there had been a break in by a stranger who now had a weapon within range of Pelosi?

Are we to believe this statement “According to the complaint, minutes after the 911 call, two police officers responded to the Pelosi residence where they encountered Paul Pelosi and DePape struggling over a hammer..” Or this one “When the door was opened, Pelosi and DEPAPE were both holding a hammer with one hand and DEPAPE had his other hand holding onto Pelosi’s forearm. Pelosi greeted the officers. The officers asked them what was going on. DEPAPE responded that everything was good. Officers then asked Pelosi and DEPAPE to drop the hammer.” These two statements do not describe the same thing. SO which is it?

When did the police go in? Did they go in the front door when they first arrived? Did they go in only after DePape hit Pelosi? Did they enter by the glass door?

    Why didn’t DePape restrain Pelosi?
Just who was DePape planning on luring to the residence? If it was all about Nancy, Nancy, Nancy that does not make sense.

      OwenKellogg-Engineer in reply to JRaeL. | October 31, 2022 at 7:39 pm

      Good questions that you raised:

“When the door was opened …” If both men (one in just underwear) were struggling, then who opened the door? It wasn’t the police.

If Pelosi didn’t know who the individual was, how did he know his name was “Dave”?

With all of the security cameras, and alarms, how does one sleep thru all that, only to woken up by the presence of the intruder?
A lot of conversation occurred before the police arrived, and then the struggle began. Which goes back to the first question: Who opened the door for police?

Maybe the body cams will shed some light….if they don’t suddenly get erased accidentally.

If you are passed out drunk or on sleeping meds you can sleep through a lot of noise.

A person can break a window to access a lock on a door.

There was only one hammer. Both men were holding it, because they were struggling for control of it

One very effective way to find out a stranger’s name is to ask him. Try it some time, and see what happens!

DePape did not arrive dressed only in skivvies. That has been debunked.

          Gosport in reply to buck61. | November 1, 2022 at 3:17 pm

          Debunked by whom? A “fact-checker”?

I’m certainly not saying the skivvies rumor is true, but definitively claiming it isn’t seems a bit premature.

Given the people involved and the Fed’s obvious interest in getting out ahead of the story with their own spin it’s not beyond possibility that someone would be sanitizing unhandy information.

See paragraph 11 in the affadavit. It describes shorts with pockets. I’m the first to say that the affadavit is sloppy and incomplete, but the “shorts” in that description would not be underwear.

          Barry in reply to buck61. | November 1, 2022 at 11:16 pm

The “affidavit” is a work of fiction, 100%.

          malclave in reply to buck61. | November 3, 2022 at 6:20 pm

The affidavit is from the FBI, isn’t it? I’m sure they’d never lie.

He was not clad in underwear, at least according to the affadavit. In paragraph 11, it mentions pockets. If we believe at least that part of the affadavit, DePape was wearing shorts. Based on my observations of derelicts in Seattle (where I lived) and Portland (where I travel every 4 or 5 weeks for errands), those would be surfer-style board shorts that I’ve seen on plenty of derelicts in both places..

I think there are gaping holes in the affadavit. Cannot say for sure what’s true. On the underwear front, release of surveillance and police bodycam vids and snaps would at least clear that one up, along with the weird interaction at the front door. In the meantime, people should back away from the “tighty whities” line.

      Virginia42 in reply to JRaeL. | November 3, 2022 at 2:47 pm

Not only that, but the glass is on the OUTSIDE of the door. How does that show a break in?

If the panelled glass in the outside door is laminated, it might either be glass with a strong plastic film glued to the inside of the glass or two layers of glass with a plastic film glued between them. Either way, if you use a hammer to attempt to smash the glass the plastic film will stop unconstrained glass fragments from being projected into the interior if a hammer is used from the outside. As long as the plastic film is untorn, glass fragments will tend to fall on the outside of the window panel. This may explain the quantity of glass fragments on the ground outside the house, and from the angle of the picture/video you might not be seeing an equivalent amount of glass also on the inside of the door.

    Overstayed by 20 years.

Illegal aliens tend to have a very low correlation with MAGA ideology which seems to put paid this idea that the attacker was of the right.

He’s illegally here, supposedly living in some bizarre nudist commune where his baby momma is in a relationship with another man all in the same household where they use some sort of psychedelic import from Mexico for recreation.

That doesn’t scream MAGA. It doesn’t even scream rino. This is a disturbed, dysfunctional and delusional person.

Voyager in reply to gonzotx. | November 2, 2022 at 3:35 am

Well, do consider the possibility that San Fransisco has become so completely lawless that a random illegal Canadian nuthatch off his coco puffs was able to walk into the home of the spouse of the Speaker of the House, and both their security and local police are so completely useless they couldn’t do anything about it even when they were already there.

I’d almost expect the D’s to be pushing the gay lover thing just to keep “even rich folks getting head hammered in Bluetopias” out of the headlines.

According to their sources, Pelosi himself opened the door when police arrived, and rather than walk out, began to walk back toward assailant David DePape. DePape even assured police that everything was “good,” which — given the broken window — police clearly didn’t believe. Only then did the hammer attack occur, prompting an immediate response from the surprised officers, according to NBC.

The Gentle Grizzly | October 31, 2022 at 5:21 pm

I will say this in advance: he did not kill himself.

Colonel Travis | October 31, 2022 at 5:24 pm

Police knocked on the door. OK.

“When the door was opened…”

When the door was opened? By….a ghost? A butler with a candlestick? At first we were told a 3rd person opened the door for police. Then police said there was no 3rd person in the house. This says it was opened but why is it written like it’s written? Why doesn’t it say “when police opened the door”? Was the door unlocked and Pelosi said – come on in, fellas? Police didn’t hear a struggle, why would they open the door themselves?

Another part of the affidavit:
“DEPAPE remembered thinking that there was no way the police were going to forget about the phone call.”

Sorry, how did the police get in the head of this guy to know what he remembered thinking? This is written like a novel, not a police interview.

Gee, I wonder why I can’t believe anything by any authority any more.

In another part of the affidavit it says Pelosi opened the door himself, then quickly scooted back to his struggle with Depape over the hammer, somehow without the police seeing this. Depape was presumably holding still while Pelosi was opening the door, waiting for him to come back and resume. What a gentleman.

      “Pelosi greeted the officers.”

And didn’t say something like “Get this maniac off me! Watch out, he’s got a hammer!”?

Or attempt to dive out the door to safety?

      Yeah, nah.

Gosport in reply to Gosport. | November 2, 2022 at 5:46 pm

        From the court filing:

DEPAPE stated that they went downstairs to the front door. The police arrived and knocked on the door, and Pelosi ran over and opened it.

Ran to the door, but didn’t leave?
So at what point did DePape run over to Pelosi with the hammer?
Why didn’t Pelosi leave when DePape came after him?
Why didn’t the cops stop DePape?

        Smellier by the moment.

Funny how the entire “3rd guy lets us in and those 2 were struggling over a hammer in their underwear” suddenly changed. I want security camera and police vest cam footage. Bet we get that as fast as the 6 Jan footage Pelosi refuses to release

Maybe DePape SAID he remembered. Do you expect full explication and total precision in a preliminary police report? Are police known for being adept and accomplished writers?

Call me a sceptic but seriously? Home nutjob just wanders up to a guy’s house who is worth more than $300 Million and whose wife is 3rd in line to the Presidency, sets down his backpack, pulls out a hammer then smashes a glass door letting himself in and no alarms, no security, nothing? Denmark, am i smelling something rotten coming from your way?

The Feds got involved very quickly.

To control the narrative?

Until I’m convinced otherwise, the answer is yes. They get no benefit of the doubt.

That’s what happens when the DOJ and FBI become political commissars and police who protect and promote Dems and their agenda. And who harass, surveil, persecute, prosecute, and imprison their political opposition.

How insane would one have to be to believe these convoluted stories? Not ONE mention of the man that let the police in from the first *spin* and then the story changes. Did he vanish into thin air?

Since nothing leaked about Pelosi”s Driving Drunk after the initial report, it’s obvious that the current story will gain spin until it sounds *right* and then it will drop like a lead balloon, never to be heard from again.

There certainly is an element of gay sex that all these made up stories can’t hide, but what is indisputable is the high level of security in the Pelosi house. A mouse couldn’t get inside without tripping off massive alarms.

I smell A BIG RAT!!!

Even if all of that were true, it still doesn’t add up to certainty. Without specific evidence it’s still no more than speculation. Gay sex might be a part of this, but only an idiot could be certain of it with what’s known now.

      Two in the morning.
No security alarms, at the home of the third most powerful poohbah in the USA.
Pretty inconceivable that the guy WALKED IN off the street in Fruit of The Looms.
No signs of a break-in (one phony sign of a break-OUT).

Mostly defense argue but I’ve heard others pull that same act. Then argue the exact opposite by again pretending they are confused by a basic point of law. I guess it’s not a lie if you believe it.

Even if I believe the entire story…..where is the federal offense for the FBI to file a criminal complaint? I see lots of potential state charges (B&E, assault, ect.)

IIRC kidnapping is a federal offense. I assumed that’s why they charged him with it. To get the Feds involved.

Seems like a stretch. A really big stretch. Pelosi never left the house.

But if it gets the Feds in the game, why not? Because having the Feds running this show is all that really matters to the Dems.

CountMontyC in reply to JHogan. | October 31, 2022 at 7:26 pm

I believe kidnapping is only a federal offense if it crosses state lines, involves something that crosses state lines( telephones for example) or demand for a ransom. None of which seem to apply here.

If what the authorities have described is true it’s Attempted Kidnapping. He broke and entered with the intent to commit the crime.

Toss in a little ‘domestic terror’ language and you have the same thing the FBI tried in the Whitmer “kidnapping” farce (less the conspiracy part).

Federal charges first… huh

BierceAmbrose in reply to Massinsanity. | November 1, 2022 at 2:26 pm

I saw that too. Interesting. Perhaps some of the legal eagles around her can explain this one.

    — Assault, battery, trespassing, menacing are locally defined, non-Federal crimes. Kidnapping is federal AIR. There’s some variation on “unlawful restraint” that rolls up under Federal Kidnapping. The details escape me; so I’m asking. WFT, over?

    — General police powers reside with the states, and subordinate jurisdictions.

    — Since Speaker Pelosi funds and oversees the FBI in her official capacity, there’s a bit of a conflict of interest here, for the FBI as the investigators, I think. ”

    — The regular, local police were called and responded. Creates two questions; why aren’t they driving the investigation, decisions on charges, handling of evidence, and so on. And where was all the Federal security for the First Gentleman?

On a related question, why do we need an expansion of the legillature’s Praetorian Guard, capitol police, into a national police and investigative force?

I assume he is out on bail? Or is that only for people who attack the rest of us?

“The officers asked them what was going on. DEPAPE responded that everything was good. Officers then asked Pelosi and DEPAPE to drop the hammer. [At this point, Pelosi apparently released the hammer.] DEPAPE pulled the hammer from Pelosi’s hand and swung the hammer, striking Pelosi in the head.”

I guess San Francisco police officers can be excused for not realizing the inevitable failure mode of unilateral disarmament by the law-abiding.

You get what you pay for, Democrats.

Release the 911 call, word was he knew the guys name
They have no credibility left, if they said it was 2am and dark I want verification at 2am it’s dark.

Two men- struggling over a hammer.
Standard police response- ask any of them- guns drawn, pointed at both of them.
One gains control, pulls arm back as if to strike.
Standard police response- bullets leave end of gun, suspect wounded or extremely dead. Do SF police have different training and expectations then all the other police in the USA?

I read the FBI affidavit- and to put it quite simple:
I do not believe a single word of it. The initial reports don’t come close to the new narrative- and we have to believe that there was NO SECURITY at the house at all, not even an active alarm system. Totally not believable.

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/man-charged-assault-and-attempted-kidnapping-following-breaking-and-entering-pelosi-residence

The bedrooms are apparently on an upper floor. The police encounter them struggling over a hammer on the first floor?
I’ve seen pics of the broken glass on the door DePape supposedly entered through. Every liberal rag in the world- well, if you break glass from one side some ends up on that side. Well, some, not all or most, and the photo looks like all or most.
The perp allowed a 911 call? In the middle of a crime? What kind of idiocy is that? Even a crazy person knows better.

Ummm… Nothing about what’s currently coming out is true. And it’s all being tied up in a little neat bow. Pretty soon, everyone involved will be saying exactly the same thing. As if coached on exactly what to say.

“Police asked.” Since when? Next we will read they asked “Mother May I?”

Another question occurred to me, “How did DePape know where Pelosi’s bedroom was?

Char Char Binks in reply to gospace. | November 1, 2022 at 9:48 am

I guarantee the cops would have shot DePape if they could have without risking shooting Pelosi.

Perp could very we’ll have let Pelosi call 911, or was tricked, or simply lost focus, allowing a chance to call. A determined and SANE kidnapper wouldn’t have allowed it, but with a lunatic, all bets are off.

The attack seems to have been more of a meandering, aimless, but still dangerous, lunacy, not a mad, ferocious bludgeoning, which it could have become, had not the cops intervened.

Whoopee Peabody | October 31, 2022 at 7:22 pm

Living in a safe city where no alarm is needed, the unthinkable happens. An intruder quietly breaks the glass in the back door of Pelosi’s home without waking anyone up. He then goes upstairs where he finds Mr Pelosi in bed. The intruder starts asking about his wife and quick-thinking Pelosi realizes this must be a bad guy and says, “I have to use the bathroom.”

Anybody gullible enough to believe the intruder gave Paul Pelosi a ‘time out’ to use the bathroom is pretty gullible. Anyway, to continue the story, Paul always charges his phone in the bathroom next to the commode and, genius that he is, Paul makes a 911 call—speaking in a secret code which the 911 operator is totally familiar with.

A couple of minutes later, someone knocks at the front door, which is downstairs. And so, holding a hammer, they both go downstairs together to see who it is. Upon seeing the police, the intruder gets angry and hits Paul in his great big fat oversized head.

This will now be the hottest news from now until election day.

I was practically crying with laughter when I read that holding a hammer they both walk downstairs together to see who it is. Oh my gosh!

Funny, but you forgot they were both in tidy whites

If you’re going to San Francisco
      Be sure to wear
      A clean pair of underwear.

RandomCrank in reply to gonzotx. | November 1, 2022 at 3:24 pm

Nope, he was not clad in underwear, at least according to the affadavit. In paragraph 11, it mentions pockets. If we believe at least that part of the affadavit, DePape was wearing shorts. Based on my observations of derelicts in Seattle (where I lived) and Portland (where I travel every 4 or 5 weeks for errands), those would be surfer-style board shorts that I’ve seen on plenty of derelicts.

I think there are gaping holes in the affadavit. Cannot say for sure what’s true. On the underwear front, release of surveillance and police bodycam vids and snaps would at least clear that one up, along with the weird interaction at the front door. In the meantime, people should back away from the “tighty whities” line.

RandomCrank in reply to Whoopee Peabody. | November 1, 2022 at 3:34 pm

A tidbit: It so happens that I charge my phone in one of the bathrooms in our house. Not for any weird reason. We are terrible housekeepers, and that’s the least messy place.

Dolce Far Niente in reply to RandomCrank. | November 2, 2022 at 10:04 pm

Do you believe the Pelosis do their own housework? Or cooking? Or virtually any daily task that the uber-rich can hire someone to do?

From the DOJ statement,

“SFPD Officer Colby Wilmes was able to interview a witness, Witness 1, who saw an individual in all black, carrying a large black bag on his back, walking near the Pelosi residence where Witness 1 was parked. Witness 1 was working private security at an address nearby. Witness 1 then heard what sounded like banging on either a door or car and then heard the sirens within a minute or two.”

If the police were on the way so quickly how was there time for the scenario as outlined in the same statement have time to play out?

gospace in reply to JRaeL. | October 31, 2022 at 8:31 pm

Witness one was working private security, saw a man dressed all in black (NEW DETAIL! Never before revealed!) walking near the Pelosi residence. And therefore- near where he was working a private security detail. And HE didn’t call 911? Huh? Just sat there like a lump and did nothing?

The company he works for has reasonable cause to terminate his employment.

henrybowman in reply to JRaeL. | October 31, 2022 at 10:07 pm

So he broke into the house, THEN carefully stripped off his black outfit, THEN went upstairs to meet Nancy Pelosi. Because that’s royal protocol in the Ibogaine Empire.

I am very probably alone in this but I think DePape was set up. Somebody or somebodies fed him just the right crap to amp his crazy to eleven with Pelosi as the target. I don’t think Pelosi was supposed to get hurt. That was off script. If I am right I have little doubt it was not any MAGA people pulling the trigger. Instead the “danger” they pose is the real reason for this whole show.

henrybowman in reply to JRaeL. | October 31, 2022 at 10:09 pm

    Nah.
Glowies like supplying people with AR-15s. Not hammers.
Really tough to rig a hammer to malfunction.

Whoopee Peabody in reply to JRaeL. | October 31, 2022 at 10:41 pm

You are too skeptical. I find it entirely plausible that a nudist, hemp smoking, jewellery making long haired hippy living in the most liberal city in the USA is a right winger.

    The_Mew_Cat in reply to JRaeL. | November 1, 2022 at 9:33 am

Crazy people are hard to control or predict. If DePape was amped up by someone, there is no way to control him, but DePape probably won’t remember he was manipulated.

Sorry … home security camera and police body cam videos, or it didn’t happen this way. End of story. I’m sick of their lies.

    gonzotx in reply to JPL17. | October 31, 2022 at 9:25 pm

    They will
Probably do an reenactment when Paul heals up for the camera footage and dear crazy David will act his part for an unknown sum of money and a light sentence , SF after all, can’t be showing favoritism!

We all know the FBI has serious credibility issues these days, why would they assign basically a junior agent ( 3 years of experience) to head up one of the highest profile cases in the region involving the most high profile residents.
If it is a fed case we won’t see the evidence as federal cases are not given the same media access as a state or local case. My gut tells me he gets some type of plea deal and the case is never presented and the evidence never sees the light of day.
He serves his time and gets deported back to Canada in 20 years or so.

This is the weakest October surprise EVER!

Char Char Binks in reply to gonzotx. | November 1, 2022 at 9:56 am

No, it’s the perfect scenario at the perfect time, with the perfect white “conservative” perp, to call for more suppression of Republicans, less free speech, and everyone needs to vote for only one party to preserve Our Democracy and Who We Are in a Rules-Based Order.

I believe the break in was real, and not planned, but it works out perfectly for Dems, with the right spin from the Dem media, of course. It’s a win for Hillary’s Indivisibles.

Suburban Farm Guy | October 31, 2022 at 10:23 pm

They’re always on about mental health, which is obviously big here. But their ministrations on those lines have been, um, not specific enough. Where you gonna get these legions of social workers to treat these legions of psychopaths you’ve created with your idiotic policies? And after that? Sounds like a dream world alrighty

Well stated before my comment –
But it’s clear the federal report is just a made up story. Imagine that, the federal government and the San Sicko AG telling lies.

They really don’t want you to know pelosi is a gay man that preys upon male prostitutes. It’s not the gay part that is an issue.

I’d bet a $1000 that the person in the car with pelosi on the evening of the drunken wreck was another male prostitute.

it would seem that he is psychotic and under the influence of drugs so that any statements would be inadmisable including declining a lawyer.

I think this is even easier than the plea deal: get a competency hearing where he says a few very nutty things, the judge declares him incompetent, and he disappears into an institution. Unlike the plea deal, he doesn’t have to agree to anything.

Note they won’t let you interview people that are criminally insane very often. Not nearly as often as they let you interview criminals locked up for 20 years. So there becomes no way for him to fess up until much later.

Easier yet, call the Depape aspect of the situation “under investigation” and just let it fade away.

Depend on the public having the attention span of goldfish and the press doing exactly what you tell them to do. As usual.

BierceAmbrose | November 1, 2022 at 2:27 pm

Oh wait. I get it. It’s Halloween.

The Feebs are dressing up as an investigative agency.

David DePape was not clad in underwear. He was wearing surfer-style board shorts. So says the affadavit, in paragraph 11: “Officers removed a cell phone, cash, clipper cards, and an unidentified card from DEPAPE’s right shorts pocket.”

I have no way of knowing who here has any interactions with the homeless. I have had some, in Seattle where I lived, and in Portland, where I have to go every 4 or 5 weeks. It’s fairly common to see these derelicts in shorts, even in chilly weather.

Why does it matter? Because the whole “tighty whiteys” commentary is being used to infer a sexual interaction between DePape and Pelosi, either as lovers or as a hired escort, which further implies that they have known each other and therefore the “strange intruder” claim is a lie.

For all we know, they did know each other, and the affadavit is made up out of whole cloth. Cameras outside the house and on the police officers’ bodies might clear this up, but for the moment, the affadavit does NOT support the widely-spread underwear element. This is one of many reasons why authorities should release camera data.

There are all kinds of questions surrounding what’s in that sloppy, contradictory affadavit. I suspect that the leaks over the weekend about underwear came from a mistaken reading or interpretation of DePape’s wearing “shorts,” the miostake being overlooking that the shorts had pockets.

This would seem like a trivial detail, and on the surface it is. But the implications are not trivial. At the very least, people here ought to take note of it and suspend the “tighty whities” speculation pending something more definitive.

Trust me, I am not in any way blessing that affadavit as a whole, or even the shorts-with=pockets part. Still, it ought to be taken into account.

RandomCrank in reply to RandomCrank. | November 1, 2022 at 3:08 pm

p.s. The affadavit doesn’t say surfer-style board shorts. That’s my assumption, based on never once having seen a bum wearing shorts in anything other than those. If derelicts like DePape wear tennis shorts or swim shorts with pockets, I have not seen it — ever.

Char Char Binks in reply to RandomCrank. | November 1, 2022 at 3:22 pm

It’s unlikely that DePape would have, or maybe even could have, carried all those items in his underwear.

Anyway. DePape is probably a deranged lunatic, a criminal, a drug addict, and possibly unemployed, but he was NOT homeless.

RandomCrank in reply to Char Char Binks. | November 1, 2022 at 3:29 pm

He was living in a school bus parked in the driveway of a house in Berkeley. The sloppy affadavit placed him in Richmond, which is 6 miles away. In any case, how did he travel to San Francisco? I think it’s safe to assume that he didn’t take that school bus.

Char Char Binks in reply to RandomCrank. | November 2, 2022 at 1:22 pm

I think he lived in the garage, not entirely sure. Still, living in a bus at a property he has access to is unconventional, but not homeless, IMHO.

Technically, the affidavit doesnt say he was wearing the shorts. The shorts could have been on the premises. He could have stripped down, the shorts could have been strewn. Without the camera evidence, no one knows.

Something else just occurred to me. If the affadavit isn’t a complete bullshit story, DePape was wearing either the board-style shorts my other comments mentioned, or black cargo shorts. I’ve seen cargo shorts on derelicts too.

We will never know the truth because the Assistant US Attorneys are either incompetent, corrupt, unethical, or all three. I have yet to meet a AUSA who was actually intelligent. They are sociopaths and narcissists. The worst attorneys I’ve ever met.

We will never know the truth because the government will never tell us the truth. And they will not tell us the truth because their first priority is to protect the democrats, and most of the democrats at the top of the party are sicko’s.

Why is this federal? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?

Today:

Fox affiliate in SF retracts report that Pelosi and the suspect were found in their underwear.
NBC News retracts report there were 3 people in the house.
Politico retracts a third party opened the door to let cops in.
Now the media calls us names for BELIEVING them. 😂
