Recall Gascón Submits Over 700,000 Signatures to LA County Registrar

Gascón blames Republicans.

The latest effort to recall Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has entered the next phase.

Unlike the first attempt, Recall Gascón has obtained the required number of signatures to get the measure on the ballot this November.

Supporters of a recall effort against Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon said Wednesday they submitted thousands more signatures to county officials than are required to trigger a recall.

The Recall George Gascon campaign said it submitted 717,000 signatures to the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters. The group needs at least 566,857 of those to be verified to bring the recall question to voters in November.

“We believe we’re submitting enough to qualify,” recall group spokesman Tim Lineberger told Fox News on Tuesday. “I firmly believe if voters are given the chance at the ballot box, they will remove him in a landslide. I think it will be worse than what happened to Chesa Boudin in San Francisco.”

Wednesday was the deadline for the group to turn in the petitions. The group said it had collected 150,000 signatures in the past three weeks after two El Monte police officers were killed.

The recall effort had to submit, at a minimum,  570,000 signatures by July 6th to allow the vote to proceed. The Registrar of Voters is now reviewing signatures for authenticity.

In a statement Tuesday, recall organizers said residents “have spoken in a resounding way,” noting the sheer number of people who have signed petitions and pointing to 37 cities in the county that have taken “no-confidence” votes in Gascón.

“The sheer magnitude of this effort, and time and investment required to get to this point, show how strong the public desire is to remove George Gascón from office,” the Recall DA George Gascón campaign said in a statement. “From day one, this recall has been led by the very victims who Gascón has abandoned, ignored and dismissed. When the recall qualifies, he will not be able to ignore them any longer.”

Meanwhile, Gascón is blaming Republicans for the recall effort.

“The Republican-led recall effort in L.A. is on the ‘cusp’ of qualifying for the ballot this November,” it reads. “And if they’re successful, they will reverse all our progress.”

Gascon and his supporters have tried to paint the recall effort as one being led by right-wing mega donors and police unions. The Recall George Gascon campaign told Fox News in mid-June it was close to collecting the 567,857 signatures needed from registered voters to put the recall question on the ballot.

“The only person talking about partisan politics is George Gascon himself because he has no defense for his failed record,” the recall campaign told Fox News in a statement. “Whether he’s intentionally gaslighting or just delusional, Gascon’s continued dismissal of victims and the legitimate concerns of residents is part of the reason why he’s going to be recalled in a landslide if we qualify.

Here’s hoping the good people of Los Angeles County get a redo this November.

Seriously, we have to take these signatures seriously because of the seriousness of the issue. The whole nation of Kalifornia and people submitting these signatures must both understand and have empathy that a recall such as this could happen anywhere if things were the same there.

We must all stand together on the significance of this issue and demand that these things stop as we recognize the eventual end effects of inaction against these issues.

So far Boudin didn’t survive but Newsom survived with a massive “atta boy” even though his polling was really bad in the state. So, if the Dem party wants you, you won’t get recalled in CA. How badly do they want Gascon? We’ll find out.

Commiefornia is long since lost because they were allowed to blatantly corrupt their elections.

I live not that far outside LA. When I got back from vacation I not only had a mail in ballot THAT I DID NOT REQUEST in my mailbox, I had 2 of my neighbors.

Apparently now they’re literally mailing ballots to every single voter regardless of request.

Until and unless it is forcibly changed then nothing will change.

The Citizens of LA seem to be getting another bite at the apple. How they choose is up to them. Either they muster the political will to remove Gascon or they choose to retain him.

California has codified mail-in ballots. The fix is in.

You are looking at it the wrong way, IMO. The mail in ballots and all the opportunities they present for shenanigans are not limited to exclusive use of d/prog.

Where these lax ballot integrity and voter access policy provisions are in place they, like any other tool, can be used for good or for ill. When a foolish policy provision is put in place the best and most effective way to demonstrate its flaws is to pick it up and wield it against those who imposed it until they realize the error of their actions.

If this communist had any sense of true honor, he would resign. That won’t happen.

The only thing right leaning about this guy is the diacritic resting atop the final vowel in his surname. His blank eyes warn all of his soulless core. May he rot in hell for eternity.

Gascon is blaming the Republicans for this? Are there any in LA? I thought they were on the endangered species list in LA.

LA says no problem! Our expert panel from Mi has determined that 704,000 of the signatures were fraudulent.

Heck, all they need to do is submit the signatures to the same intense scrutiny used in the 2020 election and the whole bunch would be approved in about an hour, plus another ten or twenty thousand which would just ‘appear’ in the middle of the night.

He can blame Republicans, but given the sheer number of signatures,it’s hard to believe that only Republicans are supporting the recall.

“The Republican-led recall effort in L.A. is on the ‘cusp’ of qualifying for the ballot this November,” [Gascon’s fundraising message] reads. “And if they’re successful, they will reverse all our progress.”

Gascon is paraphrasing Goebbels.

The only thing about this that I find interesting is that the County Recorder will actually verify every one of those signaures. Guess what they don’t do with mail-in ballots in an election. Yep. They don’t verify them.

Personally, I really, really, really hope Gascon survives the recall and takes out on the damn LA voters who are trying to recall him. No bail requirements for anybody, everybody gets a couple of passes at everything but class A felonies and they get kicked down to the bottom rung.

Every resident of LA County should live in fear every waking moment.

1) Signatures have been submitted, with in theory a surplus. They have not yet been “verified”.
2) Given that this is the Party’s DA, is the Party which also controls the Registrar of Voters office going to accept such insolence by the peasants? [not Deplorables, peasants. Pretty much everyone there is a registered Democrat or a Democrat voting unaffiliated.]
3) How strict will they be in discounting signatures.
4) Assuming that they cannot toss out enough signatures to keep it off the ballot, the Party [well trained and practiced from 2020] runs the elections. And counts the votes. And releases the official results. How many “Mules” are awaiting orders in Los Angeles?

This recall effort will be as effective as Newsom’s.

Well they recalled the Soros DA in SF.

The progressive fascists think that putting criminals in prison is racist because a higher percentage of blacks and Mexicans are criminals. It’s the fault of the white racist system that these minorities commit crimes.

No one sucks like Gascon
No one cucks like Gascon
Frees crooks for Soros bucks like Gascon

Those 700,000 signates will be gotten through with a magnifying glass checking every signature. If it were votes not one would be inspected
