It looks like @OldRowOfficial wanted to make the spot a historical landmark. The same account started a trend called “Bidening” where people fall off their bikes as Biden did in Delaware.

Ordinary users can report map changes like address location corrections, business name corrections, closed routes, new businesses, and new points of interest to Google and Apple Maps. They get a quick once-over vetting by the staff before being approved. It’s not hard to sneak stuff by them.
google maps had, for about 5 years, my physical house location pull up when you typed in the address for the county jail, some 10 miles up the highway. I tried and tried to get them to change it, even telling them to look at their own sat images where you could see a trampoline, playset, dirt road up a mountain. It wasn’t until I asked the county jail/sheriff to start sending messages to them on official “letterhead” that I stopped getting folks looking for their parole officers or semis full of food at my door.
Biden fell because he forgot to pull his foot out of the pedal toe-clip-strap thingy. Though he may have thought the clips are bicycle safety belts – in case he gets rear-ended or rolls it into a ditch. Because a bike is just like a convertible ragtop sports car.

To be fair, when Brandon and I learned to ride our bikes and drive cars, they didn’t have toebags or seat belts. Brandon probably hasn’t ridden a bike made since.

That’s like saying a person got into a fender bender because they failed to put their foot on the brake pedal soon enough—when the real reason is they were texting. In Biden’s case the real reason he fell down is because his brain is like a ragtop on a sports car that no longer goes up and down.
I feel for the guy. I came close to doing this once, my first time I rode someone’s bike equipped with “toebags.” As I had since childhood, I attempted to RAISE my foot from the pedal to put it on the ground… and it didn’t respond! However, I was way faster on the recovery than Joe “Timberrrrrrr” Biden.

No, Biden fell BECAUSE he tried to pull his foot out of the cage.
The cages are designed to keep the foot on the pedal while you are “wiping your feet” so you get more power for longer. In short, if you try to simply pull out of the cage (ie just pull your foot straight back out of the cage,) you fall.
To get out of the cage you have to either roll your foot or twist it to get the straps to loosen.
Biden didn’t which makes anyone wonder “why did he have the cages on in the first place?”
He clearly didn’t know how to operate them.
Cyclists I know asked the same question…..”why did he us them?” (They weren’t on Jill BIden’s bike.)
One must wonder if he used the cages because he doesn’t have the physical strength or acumen to keep his feet on the pedals.
