Poll: Majority of Americans Believe Biden Admin Is Intentionally Letting Gas Prices Skyrocket
Perhaps people believe this because members of the Biden administration keep coming right out and saying that we are “transitioning” off of oil and gas.
A new Trafalgar poll finds that a majority of Americans believes the Biden administration is letting gas prices rise intentionally in order to get the country off of fossil fuels and on to green alternatives.
Perhaps people believe this because members of the Biden administration keep coming right out and saying that we are “transitioning” off of oil and gas.
The Daily Caller has some details on the poll:
Poll: Majority Of Americans Think Biden Is Intentionally Sending Gas Prices Sky High To Fuel Green Agenda
Over half of American voters believe President Joe Biden is intentionally allowing gas prices to skyrocket in order for the people to use less fossil fuel, a Friday poll found.
A Trafalgar Group poll found that 53% of Americans believe the president is intentionally allowing prices to rise in order to make people rely on clean energy, according to the poll. Another 39% countered saying he is not doing so. Over half of Independent voters, 56%, agreed soaring gas prices are the president’s intention, while 37% disagreed.
Nearly one-quarter of Democrats, 24%, believe the president is intentionally allowing prices at the pump to rise, while 68% do not believe he is having any impact. The vast majority of Republicans, 77%, believe the administration wants gas prices to soar, while 12% disagree.
The poll surveyed 1,091 adults between May 25-29 with a 2.9% margin of error.
Seems pretty straightforward.

We have documented multiple examples to support the findings of this poll. See here, here, and here.
For further proof, let’s go to their own words.
Here’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg three days ago, clearly talking about a transition to electric vehicles:
To support the transition to electric vehicles, we must build a national charging network that makes finding a charge as easy as filling up at a gas station.

There are other examples, but you get the idea.
It’s very easy to conclude from their own words that they see our government-created energy predicament as an opportunity to “transition” to green energy, something the left has wanted to do for years.
Is it surprising that people believe they’re letting gas prices rise intentionally when they keep coming right out and admitting that they want us off of fossil fuels?

This is Democrat ideology in practice. The goodness of it is supposed to be self evident but for some reason it must be crammed down our throats, mandated, funded and enforced at the point of censorship if necessary.
Let’s stop calling them Democrats. That’s so 1950’s.
How about something REALLY fitting, like Communists, Tyrannical Treasonous DiKtators, (sic) or Unpatriotic Destroyers of our once proud country?
Really they should be Bolsheviks
It’s more than mere communism/fascist: given the intense corruption, it’s more “Mafia”.
No, the Mafia had a code of ethics, such as it was.
Biden has proved that he hates the US. Every action he has taken has hurt the US in one way or another. the Dems who agree with him are no better. It’s time Dems are known as un-American.
I think Biden is just a f*** up … more than anything else …
He’s bought and paid for, just doing the bidding of his superiors, our country be damned.
Need a word that will ring familiar to the average age voter with average intelligence. Some adjectives have no meaning to the voting population today…they simply aren’t old enough.
Control freaks?
.
Progressive fascists!
I think that this is too modestly stated. Is there any evidence that higher energy prices has not been Biden administration POLICY from Day #1? It has only been since high gas prices have become politically inconvenient that they are talking a different game, except that their actions have not changed in any meaningful way.
Of the 24.8% of Dems who acknowledge the obvious truth of the question posed by the poll, namely whether or not Biden is intentionally raising the price of gas, 90% of them are in favor of further increases.
The remaining 10% (of the 24.8%) will be voting Republican, one would assume.
I’d like to see the publications where you got those figures. Have you any links? Thank you.
I should have been more clear in my comment.
The 90/10 split I referred to came entirely from my own speculation, not any recognized source.
I just assume that most of the Dems are crazy, and calculated accordingly.
This is not a transition . It’s a transformation, as in Obama’s statement about a fundamental transformation of the country.
Oil and gas are, obviously, a huge part of the fundamental transformation.
The Utility I work for is considering sending an email to our customers preparing them for this years heating bill being 3 times last Winters.
There is a difference between letting something happen and causing something to happen.
In this case we’re looking at the latter.
Yes, they are definitely causing. Plus they causing a future crisis of national security by wasting the strategic oil reserve buy get rid of it ahead of massive world wide unrest.
It’s both …
Biden said in a debate that he wanted to destroy the oil industry. Of course it’s on purpose. Hello, is this thing on?
Successful transitions of this type are consumer driven, not administration driven.
The penalty of this miscalculation will be felt by this administration on election day, 2022.
If we have a real election with only a count of real, legal votes. Neither can be assumed.
Subotai Bahadur
Not sufficiently if there is one Socialist/Communist remaining in Congress. Well, OK, we should keep one in a cage to remind future generations of what they were and are.
To finance the Biden/Maidan/Slavic Spring with “benefits”, housewarming “gifts” to the Taliban, redistributive oil in Libya, and labor arbitrage (e.g. practical and actual slavery) in the Green deal and a blight on our own land.
He’s pretty much admitted to this.
24.8% of Dems believe they’re doing it on purpose, while 75.2% are complete idiots.
I’ll go you one better on Obama’s continueing ‘fundamental transformation of America’ agenda. If you were going to crush America’s economy, what policies would different? Name one.
They hate Trump, the Trump boom, and all who prospered from it. You will be punished, all gains reversed, 401s torpedoed, supply chain shredded into a million pieces. No tampons? No baby formula? Soaring energy costs? Labor shortages? Hyper-inflation? All of it in less than 2 years.
The Spite House; vindictive, unforgiving oppressive marxist agenda. If you were going to crush America’s economy, what policies would different? Name one.
We are at war. Prepare accordingly.
Add to that an ammo shortage …. Quick…find the black market addresses in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
We can handle it. But what we can’t handle, is our Swamp political party being at war with YOU and I.
The road to He11 is not going to be paved as it requires petroleum based products to build. We will have to do with dusty dirt trails.
Believe?
Name anything he has done to stop the price going skyward.
“Perhaps people believe this because members of the Biden administration keep coming right out and saying that we are “transitioning” off of oil and gas.”
WITHOUT asking us if we were okay with that!

My fellow ethnic Han [my family was Cantonese and now full American], what we are facing here is a government that does not believe in either the Constitution or consent of the governed. Interesting times are ahead of us.

And if anyone knows anything about the Han when they expressed their hope that you, “live in interesting times” it was the opposite of wishing you well.
It is less of an ill-wish than an acceptance of what is inevitable.

Apparently, 10 GOP senators have agreed to vote to infringe our gun rights:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSgOylgCMgg
This is based on Schumer declaring “Finally, we have a gun deal!”
Cornyn (Texas, yes Texas) and Ms Lindsey Graham are again among them. You can guess the rest. We need to get busy with the phones and e-mails. They have yet to produce a written bill so there is time.
Could we please stop with the Dems vs Reps crap? It’s all one big Uniparty with mostly suspects accounting for the rest. The GOP PSUCKS!!!

Portman has been busy f*cking over us Buckeyes since he announced he’d be retiring at the end of this term. This is more of the same.
The Dems act like the increasing prices of fuels just affect auto drivers. But the price of diesel fuel is directly linked to the price of food, and there is no way farmers can “transition” off of diesel.
To run a tractor or a combine for 16 hours a day using batteries would take several tons of batteries. That’s not going to happen. Take a 70 HP combine (50 KW) and run it for 16 hours, that will consume 800 KWH of electric energy. A Tesla battery stores about 50 KWH, with about 40 KWH usable. So you would need about 20 Tesla batteries to run your combine for a day!
Diesel fuel is one of the largest expenses for farmers, plus more diesel is needed to transport the food. You would have to be an idiot who has never seen a farm to think you can double the cost of diesel fuel and not increase the cost of food.
Every single product or service requires transportation. Almost every manufactured product, from fertilizer, to plastic, to pharmaceuticals, requires some form of fossil fuels as a raw material. One significant, leveraged second order effect will be less use of fertilizer, leading to lower crop yields over which the farmer has to spread his higher diesel fuel costs.
One problem is that many of these folks pushing EV + wind and solar don’t really understand much about the economy. For them food comes from the grocer, gas comes from the pump, their Amazon order appears on their doorstep. They have no idea how many steps and processes are involved nor how many hands tough the product nor even what the inputs are or where they come from.
They hit the yes to confirm order icon and stuff just appears in three days. It’s a modern version of a cargo cult but instead of worship it’s simple ignorance.
They do understand kickbacks from their donors, though.
This [mal-]administration increased the US money supply by 40%, and refuses to license pipelines and exploration for oil. Is it any wonder we’re seeing fuel prices, and all other prices downstream, skyrocket? I live in a deep indigo state, and am represented by a shameful rasca in the House and two uber-Dems in the Senate. But I will vote in November, whether it’s worth something or not.
As “jb4” points out, [nitrogen] fertilizers are essentially processed and transformed fossil fuels. And if farmers were unable to use ammonia, urea (etc) then per-acre yields of basic food grains likely would plummet to less than half of what they are now: a decrease so drastic that food shortages would surely become famines.
Fortunately no one is trying to ration (let alone ban) the use of these fertilizers. But, the rising price of fossil fuels will inevitably increase the cost of producing these essential ag inputs.
As for plastics, the consumption of one-time-use plastic products in hospitals is truly stupendous; everything from syringes to IV tubing to bandages is mostly plastic, and all is disposed of after a single use.
Of course it’s safer that way, and often less costly than (re-)using materials that can withstand the heat and/or chemicals required to assure sterilization. But it’s a not-insignificant cost of hospital care.
(Sometimes one wonders how the de-carbonize everything, now! utopians think we’re going to eat or get safe medical treatment without fossil fuels. . But then one realizes they’ve never really thought about these things: isn’t it sufficient to just stamp one’s feed and demand results?.)
In the short term, human urine should be collected and used on gardens. Human urine is sterile and does not contain pathogens. If it is not used quickly. it can be stabilized https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4857702/
This is a calculated gamble by the dems. They are banking on people who are on the middle or bottom end of the economic scale not bailing out on them, however it may take some more freebies to keep their vote.
They cannot sustain freebies for much longer.
Brandon has excluded the primary US EV manufacturer (Tesla) from government subsidies while Ford and GM make far fewer cars and won’t have the capacity to meet the current demand no less what Brandon is planning.
And two days ago, we learn that the EU is not allowing GM to return even if they only sell EVs. In fact, even if they did allow them back in, their EVs are not competitive with price or quality. EU calls them garbage.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faXVtk80TQk
And Ford’s EVs psuck even worse.
PLUS CA has banned ALL gas and diesel trucks, even the low emission versions which GM and Ford just invested billions to expand capacity to produce those trucks.
Another fine mess Brandon is creating for us to suffer through. GM and Ford will soon be going bankrupt. So where does that leave us? I’m thinking Mad Max.
Proves the people aren’t a stupid as the Socialist/Communists think they are.
Both of these videos are from people who are very interested in climate change and both explain why electric cars are a bad idea and solar/wind will kill our environment. People like Tom Steyer and the DNC desperately want to shut this up and it’s a golden opportunity for conservatives to get on the science that Dems don’t want to accept.
