Multiple Reporters: Secret Service to Dispute J6 Committee Star Witness

Multiple Reporters: Secret Service to Dispute J6 Committee Star Witness

Maybe you shouldn’t rely on hearsay.

The January 6 Committee’s star witness’s testimony went up in flames almost as soon as she finished it.

Mark Meadows’ former aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified that someone told her “that as then-President Donald Trump was being driven back to the White House after the Jan. 6 rally that he demanded to be taken to the Capitol and tried to grab the steering wheel from a Secret Service agent.”

The media and the left went insane with this news. Look at The New York Times.

CNN:

MSNBC:

First off, it’s all hearsay: “information received from other people that one cannot adequately substantiate; rumor.” It’s not a trial but it’s still gossip. I do not understand why anyone would allow hearsay in a formal and supposed important setting.

Especially since it can be disproved. It didn’t take long for sources to come out to dispute Hutchinson’s testimony. Video also shows Trump in an SUV not The Beast.

Uh oh. Did the guy who supposedly tell Hutchinson what happened in the car say that he never told her that?

So will they bring in the Secret Service agents? Will the media listen to the agents? Or will everyone just stick with this chick? It sounds like the committee has no plans of backing up Hutchinson or bringing in anyone who can disprove her testimony.

A farce. It’s all a farce.

The media, politicians who supposedly have law degrees, and the left going wild with Hutchinson’s hearsay epitomizes what is wrong with these fake hearings where there is no cross-examination.

This is so idiotic.

If it’s in Izvestia on the Hudson, which prints all of its views as if it were the news, you can bet your bottom dollar it’s not true.

Trump, in a rage, was last seen that day on a gray stallion leading the charge at Gettysburg.

It’s almost as if the people running the committee don’t even care about the truth.

Of course they don’t care about the truth, or facts for that matter. This is political Kabuki Theater they’re going to cut sound/video bites from for their reelection campaign’s ads.

Isn’t it interesting that they picked yesterday to pull this stunt? Another major primary day? The day ended in a bloodbath for the RINOs against Trump candidates in the primaries. Trump is their tar baby. The more outrageous their attacks, the stronger he gets. Going down in a flaming implosion that only delusional egomaniacs could bring about. This is an epic failure.

The thing is, they don’t care anymore. . Anti-Trumpers will gleefully repeat a lie knowing full well that it is a lie – because they hate him & that makes it okay in their eyes.

I think it is time they call Fonzie.

What I don’t understand is why there’s all this fuss about it. Suppose it were true. What would be the big deal? Supposing he had forcefully expressed his desire to join the demonstration at the Capitol that he had just called on everyone else to attend, it seems to me that that could only be to his credit. I heard complaints on the day that he’d called on people to march, he’d said or at least implied that he’d join them, and then he skedaddled off to the White House; if this story were true then it would mean his heart was in the right place, he tried to do what he said, and the only reason he didn’t was that the Secret Service just couldn’t allow it.

I understand the importance of debunking this, simply to show what a farce the committee is. But as to the claim itself I don’t care whether it’s true.

I think it’s been well established by now that it doesn’t matter what’s legal, or moral, or even sensible. What matters is demonizing Trump. This is about stoking the base for donations and votes, and if they can somehow squeeze out a way to keep him from running in 2024, too, that’s just gravy.

A “farce” that has used the power of the Federal Government to abuse citizens at the whim of the unauthorized commission. The abuse of power is growing. There is no downside to their actions other than not being elected again…. but that was proven useless in 2020. Taking Churchill at his word, we may be wishing and praying that FJoe Biden plays with the Nuclear Football thinking its a Hasbro toy and Washingt0n gets a retaliatory strike. Unless… Nancy is the designated survivor. With the Uniparty, we are in a defacto one party national rule.

Arminius in reply to Milhouse. | June 29, 2022 at 5:29 am

That’s fine as far as it goes but this person was allowed to give hearsay, office gossip really, that implicated the President in a federal crime. That the President assaulted a Secret Service agent by attempting to strangle him. SS is federal law enforcement agency. Assaulting a federal law enforcement agent is a federal felony. That by any measure does not redound to Trump’s credit. Of course, it also never happened.

Even had Trump been in “the Beast,” which is in no way a Cadillac, designed by the SS and purpose built by GM from the ground up on a medium duty commercial truck chassis, I can’t see how Trump could do this unless he’s secretly a Ninja. Cadillac’s role was to make it look like a car. Given that it’s actually a medium duty commercial truck with a custom body grafted on to attempt to give it the proportions to make it look like a car (as long as it isn’t parked next to an actual car) a president would have to cover a lot of real estate to “lunge” at the driver all the way from the back seat. Then of course there’s the bullet proof glass barrier between the driver and passenger compartments. The President, and only the President, controls the switch to lower the barrier but how far it lowers I don’t know. I do not that none of the bulletproof exterior windows lower except the driver’s side window and it only lowers 3 inches. I doubt the barrier between the passengers and driver would lower all the way, either, so even in the “Beast” I can’t see how a 74 y.o. man could “lunge” at the driver.

But Trump wasn’t in the “Beast.” He was in one of the GM 2500HD-based Presidential Suburban Limousine SUVs which makes the story even less likely. These are not purpose-built from the ground up. They are custom ordered from GM to Secret Service specifications regardless of the vehicle’s commercial production status, then stripped down and heavily modified. These are also partitioned for two reasons. Privacy so the President, Vice President, or other protectee can have confidential conversations with other passengers. All purpose-built limousines have partitions such as this for reasons of privacy, as opposed to merely a chauffeured car which normally is simply a stretched wheel-base luxury sedan, although most commercial limousines simply have safety glass. But not a President’s limousine. Which brings us to the second reason; additional ballistic protection. I can’t see how they could put a power partition in something that wasn’t built from the ground up to have one without seriously hindering passenger comfort. I also don’t see the need as, from what I understand, they’re primarily used by the President for short trips such as around the National Mall so a fixed partition wouldn’t be much of a hassle.

Which of course was where the President held his rally on 6 Jan 2020. I simply don’t believe it’s possible for the protectee to lunge at the driver or try to grab the wheel from the back seat.

Given the state of the MFM reporting I’ll believe that the Secret Service will push back and send the lead agent and driver to testify when it happens. Part of the reason I’m cynical is because this Stalinist show trial is simply a one-sided farce that hasn’t allowed witnesses for the defense to testify.

It’s interesting that Hutchinson’s lawyer is issuing public statements that Hutchinson only testified as to the truth of what she was told about the purported incident. She has no idea whether or not it actually happened. Which again raises the original question; what then was the point of giving this low-level aide a public stage to share water-cooler gossip?

But if they do allow the Secret Service agents to testify and Tony Ornato testifies that he never told her any such thing then she’ll be in trouble. Not only can’t she testify as to the veracity of the story since she has no first hand knowledge, she lied to the committee about who told her.

Or, rather, she would be in trouble if we had a functioning legal system instead of a pathetic weasel of a sycophantic AG willingly weaponizing his department to function as the enforcement arm of the DNC. And a Potemkin committee begging to be lied to and, failing to get all the sensational lies it wants, simply falsifies testimony and doctors evidence.

SField in reply to Arminius. | June 29, 2022 at 7:13 am

I used to work for a company that built armored VIP vehicles. Nothing for the USSS, but very similar to what they use. Both the SUV/Suburban type vehicles as well as the Limo/Sedan models all had fixed ballistic glass partitions.

These things are already incredibly heavy, and a mechanism to raise and lower the partition was determined to be an unnecessary addition of weight and complexity.

Also, certain vehicles have what I will call “defensive systems” that completely separate the driver and passenger compartment. It would be impossible for anyone riding in the passenger compartment of any of these vehicles to interfere with the driver.

The USSS vehicles could very well be set up differently. Just food for thought. Either way I’m very skeptical of this woman’s claims.

Arminius in reply to SField. | June 29, 2022 at 10:45 am

Good info. I’m familiar with some of the very similar Suburban-based vehicles used by other departments and agencies such as State, FBI, and White House Communications Agency (which is DoD). I was surprised to learn that “the Beast” did have a mechanism to lower the partition. I don’t understand why the USSS would think that’s desirable or what tactical need it would meet. Perhaps it’s misdirection even, but the publicly available information states that the President can lower it from his passenger compartment seat.

But then it’s essentially a “bespoke” vehicle and it is on a commercial medium-duty truck chassis. I imagine if any vehicle could take the extra weight it would be that Presidential limo.

But I can’t imagine they would have attempted the same thing on the Suburban-based Presidential limousine. It’s heavily modified, yes, but you can only add so much weight to the 3/4 ton 2500HD Suburban before it’ll be so overloaded it starts to destroy itself. The same problem we had with up-armored HMMVs.

Of course, as I mentioned GM will build these vehicles for to the SS’s specs regardless of the vehidle’s production status. For the last decade or so they only built these 3/4 ton Suburbans for Fleet/Military/Government sales, and for the White House fleet I’m sure they’ll build them with any suspension components, engine/transmission/axle combo, and an electrical system that will accommodate any electronic components the USSS intends to install.

But I can’t imagine that the USSS would push their luck and install anything heavier and more complex than a fixed partition since unlike “the Beast” they’re starting with a COTS vehicle. It’s going to weigh enough as is and those vehicles do have to have enough performance to still be able to get out of trouble.

WTPuck in reply to SField. | June 29, 2022 at 10:49 am

A local man called the news radio station this morning. He had retired from a facility that made/customized vehicles for the Secret Service. He said that since Reagan was in office, the ballistic partition was fixed and stationary.

Office gossip, indeed. Or a malicious game of “telephone.”

taurus the judge in reply to Milhouse. | June 29, 2022 at 5:50 am

Under the auspices of “know thine enemy as you know thyself” and through a professional psyops lens, I have watched this whole “thing” wondering that exact same thing.

Here is my “working’ pro forma thought ( until something better comes along because right now this is like trying to follow a strawberry in a blender)

If we start with the assumption that on day one this was an engineered plot to destroy trump and MAGA and the belief that “someone’ made the decision to proceed after reviewing both the plan and methodology then based on the performance so far we can “logically deduce” that……

The goal of this must simply be to make Trump out to be a “bad mean person” ( as defined by the standards of the left- not by a normal human) in hopes to turn the “masses” against him.

I base that on whats left after we remove the following:

They have to know they have not established either a “crime” or Trump personally as guilty of anything.

They have to know that even if they have a stacked deck and could bring bogus charges- they would lose in a court/trial.

They clearly know they have no factual evidence of anything ( or it would have been used by now surely)

Here’s the kicker- they must be oblivious to the general public and believe they are “doing good’ (by whatever standard they are using) otherwise whoever is in charge would have pulled the plug on this and hope it would go away.

They have no end game ( because all they have presented is not painting any picture or leading to a definitive conclusion)

Either they are just Trump bashing or they really have lost their minds.

I cant see anything else based on the currently available information.

The left reminds me of Captain Ahab in Moby Dick, with Trump their white whale. And this Cheney psychopath is now the public face of Ahab.

I really do think they’ve lost their minds. This pursuit of Trump is pathological. And they’ve yet to land a blow.

    Fat_Freddys_Cat in reply to Milhouse. | June 29, 2022 at 7:35 am

That was my first question. Is it a crime for the President to go to the Capitol? Or a crime for him to try to drive the limo?

Tionico in reply to Milhouse. | June 29, 2022 at 11:50 am

What is at the root of al this kbuki theatre charade is this: there are still a few hundred American citizens behind bars, long term, some in solitary confinement, simply because their cell phone’s locator data has them being wihtin a quarter mile of the Capitol building sometome on or about 6 January. And lies like this keep cropping up, and are being used to :”justify” their contuned imprisonmant on the flimsiest of evidence.
FUther, the “breach” of the Capiitol actually happened some twenty minutes BEFORE Trump’ s sppech ended, then it took close to an hour for ayone walking to get from where he could be heard to the Capitol istelf. So HOW could Trump have “provoked” the “breach”? ANd yet this truth is ignored by those who would have some huge crime being committed that day. Meanwile, there is little to NO consequence for te thousands who participated in the rioting, ddestructioin lwlessness accross the nation over the man who overdosed on fentanyl and methamphetiamines and died as the police were attempting to help him survive.

The Democrats purposely put a liar in front of the committee and the cameras. I’m shocked, shocked I tell you. I can’t believe they would stoop so low… again and again… and again.

Maybe Jussie Smollett can testify that Trump was standing in the shadows cheering on his attackers.

Maybe one of “them” is one of “us” and had the influence to pull this off? Or maybe since Brandon and Schiff lie non-stop with the same lies, they would cap off the biggest fraud of all time with the biggest lie in the whole affair? These are sick and desperate people.

So, let me get this straight, Trump took over the beast when the secret service refused to follow a direct order of their commander in chief, and he whooped one of the SS doing so.

Trumps a stud.

A desperate grasping at straws prior to the mid-terms. Congress is out of control. Time to seriously consider updating the RICO act fraud definitions to include abuse of power by using taxpayer funds for politically motivated malfeasance. At least hold Congress to the same standards as the judiciary with the Federal Rules of Evidence.

Is anyone really surprised to find out that the communist propagandists in their illegitimate fake committee are nothing but a bunch of liars? The only thing communists do better than lying is starving people en masse.

I’m expecting another blockbuster revelation when Huggy Bear testifies.

“Now I don’t know nothin’ about nothin’, but word on the street is that…”

This is all so stupid. Wouldn’t pass muster in an actual court of law.

This has to be a test of the gullibility of the American Citizen. How much BS are they willing to believe? Are there no cameras in the cars?? Surely that would have been captured on video.

Bit of an anti climax to be honest 🤣🤣 you do have to question the intellect of who ever though it was a good idea to march this, then, 23 year old out a star witness spouting stuff that’s obviously not true (it’s physically impossible to get from the rear seating area to the driving compartment of the beast to start with).

But apparently Democrat’s think this is OK 🤷‍♂️ They really are this bloody mindedly stupid 🤣 OMB lives in their heads rent free 🤣🤣

They continue to make up stories and take testimony form someone who heard something someone else said.
It’s not the first time Congress has used this tactic.

taurus the judge | June 29, 2022 at 5:15 am

IN THE BEGINNING….

I was really concerned this was going to be a world class integrated op to destroy Trump and MAGA with state-of-the-art false evidence and testimony. I was vehemently against it.

Now it seems that this “kangaroo klown kommittee” is actually showing how evil and stupid the left is and as a result proving Trump did NOTHING WRONG. ( to anyone who can utilize critical and analytical thinking skills anyway)

Now I am of the opinion they need to continue this weekly until the elections in 2024.

I think you’ve identified the major problem for Democrats. Between the lot of them they do not possess a single living brain cell capable of performing anything like critical thinking.

CommoChief in reply to taurus the judge. | June 29, 2022 at 8:00 am

Yeah, that’s my thought as well. These jabrones can’t even manage to properly run their kangaroo court. Putting on a ‘witness’ to introduce hearsay testimony without locking down the eyewitness testimony beforehand is farcical.

Maybe use her testimony to buttress the firsthand accounts once those people had testified but to lead off with it? That’s a PR nightmare of their own making. They are displaying their incompetence, ideological hatred and vindictiveness. They undermined what little credibility they had and will now face similar skepticism about all their actions from anyone who is actually paying attention.

taurus the judge in reply to CommoChief. | June 29, 2022 at 8:25 am

Lets employ the law of unintended consequences here for a minute.

I don’t think the left realizes this (Actually I’m certain they haven’t because if they had they would stop it) but….

By default they are in fact “proving” that Trump is actually one of the most honest and ethical politicians/businessmen in history. ( which I personally never would have believed without the left and their antics)

I base my conclusion on this.

Nobody can convince me that every area of everything Trump has done from his conception to now has not been thoroughly investigated down to the Nano particle by a literal army of people with the skills, money, resources and motivation fueled by an insatiable desire to totally destroy this man by any means possible. ( legal or illegal, moral or immoral, true or false- doesn’t matter)

Not only have they produced nothing but they cannot even seem to fabricate anything effective.

That leaves really 2 possible causes.

Trump really is the 988th level Dahar Master playing 36 degree quantum chess beating all the minions of earth and truly is a supreme being.

Trump pretty much is an honest and decent guy who tried to do the best he could.

CommoChief in reply to taurus the judge. | June 29, 2022 at 8:52 am

I agree. For better or for worse the man is straightforward in his actions and speech. He says what he means, means what he says and tries hard to deliver on his promises. Sometimes he got it done; Judges, sometimes the resistance was too strong; border wall. No one can honestly say he didn’t try to deliver.

He doesn’t attempt nuance in actions or speech. His very strait forward brash and combative style offends the pearl clutching elites in the uni party and media. This is who the man is. He was the same in private life before seeking office. If there was any real dirt his enemies would have brought it to light.

Innuendo and rumors are much easier than producing solid evidence especially when an ideological media amplifies them v showing any skepticism. Which is why they keep running essentially the same playbook, they are rewarded for doing so by their media allies and the leftist mob cheers them on to greater excess.

Peabody in reply to CommoChief. | June 29, 2022 at 11:22 am

You have provided a wonderful silver lining, pure, beautiful, not to mention, plentiful—enough to last for the rest of the summer.

Trump in private life …. the reason I voted for him can be summed up in 3 words, Wollman Skating Rink. His role in rebuilding that rink in the mid-1980’s is amazing, when the political leadership of NY City could not get it done. His achievements as President were similar, although I told my wife early in his term that he would not be re-elected if he did not become more “Presidential”.

CommoChief in reply to M Poppins. | June 29, 2022 at 4:40 pm

If a competent group was attempting to frame someone they wouldn’t use a hearsay witness who could be rebutted by first hand witness unless:
        1. They disposed of the first hand witness so they couldn’t offer a rebuttal because they are dead or brain damaged in a vegetative state
        2. They bribed or extorted the first hand witness to give testimony matching the hearsay witness

I get what you imply; that the first hand witness won’t be called to testify and the media will help with the lie. IMO there are too many other outlets to go to for this to be successfully suppressed in the information age.

The days of a Cronkite with a death grip on what gets seen by the public is over. A competent group would understand that and take point 1 above to heart. See Epstein.

The J6 Committee still has not presented the most damning evidence of all, which is that Trump dared to call Dick Cheney a warmonger.

Why should the rules of evidence apply when no other rules seem to? Hutchinson’s information could be accurate, but it’s not treated as reliable. One would have to hear from the eyewitness. (During the Clarence Thomas confirmation hit job, one witness admitted, “I was not a percipient observer.”) This is a lawless bunch. Hearsay: “An out-of-court statement presented for the truth of the matter contained therein.” So: Out-of-court, out of mind. And these people are out of their minds.

Steven Brizel | June 29, 2022 at 8:40 am

Hutchinson’ testimony was rank hearsay and completely contradicted by other witnesses

Procedural Due Process is a topic that tends to put both law students and civilian readers to sleep. I remember being thoroughly confused as to why the US Supreme Court was so concerned about it, and so vague in its descriptions. And what, exactly, does “laying a predicate” mean?

The derision here today, in contrast to the coverage at CNN and MSNBC (I am an unwilling witness) explains it all.

A witness, who was not there and not in a position to know much of anything, said she was told all kinds of lurid stories about the events of a year-and-a-half ago.

It provokes laughter here, but talking heads labelled “legal analyst” at MSNBC, for example, pretend that the kind of gossip that would never be allowed in any kind of legitimate legal proceeding — is true.

They pretend that there was some basis for the witness’s credibility because she was “under oath,” when she had no reason to know any of it.

They are even claiming that the J6 protesters had guns.

I am thoroughly disgusted with the Committee and their allied media, most particularly the alleged “legal analysts.”

Valerie in reply to Valerie. | June 29, 2022 at 10:06 am

Oh, now we have a “legal analyst” claiming that Hutchinson’s testimony is anonymously disputed by the Secret Service. How about that? The names came out in the very first reports.

    These people are contemptible.

“Hutchinson’s hearsay epitomizes what is wrong with these fake hearings where there is no cross-examination.”

There could be no fake hearings if witnesses were cross examined. Cross-examinations would have ended the fake hearings on day one.

They would more appropriately be called, “One-Sided Hearings”.

they can’t testify and refute it if the J6 committee WON”T call them. thats how this is gonna be allowed to hang out there.

Toto, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.

LOL.. when was the last time you saw trump drive?. does he drive his own cars these days? or ever?
