Desperate DNC Chair Lashes Out at Republicans as ‘Fascists’
“It is a party built on fraud, fear, and fascism. And they don’t deserve to be in power.”
Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison is lashing out at Republicans as his party sinks in polls ahead of the 2022 midterms. He is desperately trying to label Republicans as fascists.
Harrison is particularly angry about comments Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) recently made about Biden’s Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown-Jackson. Democrats seem to have completely forgotten their treatment of Brett Kavanaugh.
It’s too bad Harrison can’t point to Democratic party successes instead of just complaining like this.

DNC chair: Republican Party is “built on fraud, fear and fascism”
Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison on Wednesday slammed the Republican Party, saying “it is a party built on fraud, fear and fascism” in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Driving the news: “They don’t deserve to be in power. Not because Democrats should, but because they don’t deserve to be in power,” Harrison said Wednesday.
- Harrison, who criticized Sen. Tom Cotton’s (R-Ark.) remarks on Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson’s work as a public defender, also noted the Republican senator’s efforts to block Cassandra Butts’ nomination in 2014 by then-President Obama to be U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas.
- Butts died of leukemia before her confirmation.
- “It shows you who this little maggot-infested man is, he does not deserve to have that pen, he doesn’t deserve to be in the United States Senate representing the good people of Arkansas,” Harrison said of Cotton.

Tom Cotton doesn’t seem too concerned.

The Republican National Committee responded, defending Cotton and calling out Harrison.
The Washington Examiner reports:
The Republican National Committee called the comments “unhinged” and highlighted the clip on social media accounts targeted at its conservative base.
“The smell of Democrat desperation is vile and sort of sad,” a RNC spokeswoman told Axios about the comments. “But it makes sense when their fate is tied to Biden hiking gas prices, sending costs skyrocketing, and unleashing a humanitarian crisis at our southern border.”
Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt criticized the lack of civility and wondered if Harrison’s sentiments were shared by more prominent members of the Democratic Party.
Republican operative Matt Whitlock clapped back at Harrison’s statement, saying he “has the message discipline of an angry toddler” and “terrible political instincts.”
