A San Diego High School Cuts Honors Courses in the Name of ‘Equity’
“eliminate racial disparities in honors enrollment”
This is a perfect example of what ‘equity’ does. It doesn’t lift people up. It cuts others down.

Patrick Henry High School cuts honors courses in the name of ‘equity’
San Diego’s largest high school, Patrick Henry High School, has cut some honors courses without informing the student’s parents.
As expected, parents are outraged and worries the lack of honors courses will hurt students chances of getting accepted to prestigious universities.
The principal, Michelle Irwin, claims she made the decision in the name of “equity.” Irwin also said cutting the honors courses would remove the stigma from non-honors classes and “eliminate racial disparities in honors enrollment.”
In an email thread obtained by KUSI News, Irwin told concerned parents the entire district has been embracing and promoting “inclusive environments.”
KUSI reached out to Irwin for comment on her decision, but we have not heard back.

I do not understand why POC are not absolutely outraged over mostly white people telling them they are too stupid to keep up. I mean, I do understand wanting to pull everyone down to your own level, but even so, the behavior of these supposed equity advocates is just demeaning.
POC are being taught that white and Asian success cannot be legitimate. Therefore they don’t think they are being demeaned, but rather they think that justice is being done.
Ah, the soft bigotry of low expectations.
Another woke school is telling the minorities that they are too stupid to succeed in academics, so they might as well sign up with the drug cartels and become a gang member and a mule.
Those same union teachers who think their minority students can’t measure up are paying dues to their teachers unions who try to eliminate charter schools. It embarrasses the union schools when the charter schools take the attitude “You’re smart. Don’t waste it. You can succeed at anything you want if you work hard at it.”
Portland, and possibly all of Oregon, high schools recently eliminated Calculus. But at the private high school my son attended, they were doing linear algebra as seniors having taken calculus as juniors. It is no wonder that the local community colleges have classes in the same Algebra that I took in the 9th grade. I guess teaching “woke” takes up the prescious time that people of my generation used to learn the 3 R’s. Or maybe they didn’t get the joke and are actually teaching “righting” vs writing.
