TX Gov. Abbott Reiterates Job Offers to Border Patrol Agents Accused of Whipping Migrants if Admin Fires Them

The government is still investigating the border patrol agents accused of whipping migrants at the border in Del Rio.

It’s been six months even though evidence literally shows the border patrol agents did not do anything wrong. The agents don’t even carry whips. The photographer who took the photos even said he did not see anyone whip anyone.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott once again offered to hire the agents in Texas if the Biden administration fires them.

The DHS IG refused to investigate the non-incident. The office recommended it to the Customs and Border Protections (CBP) Office of Professional Responsibility. The head of the Border Patrol union and a DHS official accused the administration of dragging out the investigation because they cannot admit they were wrong. Remember, Biden said the agents would “pay”:

But [Brandon] Judd, the head of the Border Patrol union, is one of a number of officials who believe it is being dragged out because the administration backed itself into a corner on the matter.”I believe that they’re trying to drag this out and get the American public to forget about it because ultimately they’re going to have to come back and say [the agents] did nothing wrong, or they’re going to have to make some charges up and try to fit some charges under policy,” he said. “That’s the only conclusion that we can come to on why this is taking so long.”A DHS official who spoke to The Washington Examiner in January shared that assessment, and even questioned whether the administration would ever release the report.”I doubt that the current administration will release this report on the horse patrol incident because it makes the administration look terrible,” the official said. “They essentially convicted the mounted agents based upon a lie, which the investigation after 120 days would surely have revealed.”
