Ukraine Updates: Russia Not Ruling Out Using Nuclear Weapons

Putin is losing it if it is true he placed his spies under house arrest. Also, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants NATO to tell him now if it plans on bringing in his country.

To make matters worse…Russia went after Poland via an essay by Dmitry Medvedev, Putin’s little lapdog.

Live Stream:

Will Russia Use Nuclear Weapons?

Maybe:

Russian President Vladimir Putin spokesman Dmitri Peskov refused Tuesday to say his nation would not use nuclear weapons if it thought Russia could be destroyed.Peskov said the conditions were consistent with the nations national security concept. “If there’s a threat to the very existence of our country, it can be used in accordance with this concept,” he stated in response to the question of whether Russia’s use of nuclear weapons could be completely ruled out, according to the Russian government-controlled news site TASS.“Russian military doctrine envisions use of nuclear weapons in a first use scenario if it is losing a conventional conflict. Ukraine is exactly the scenario for which this was developed,” said Rebekah Koffler, who is a former DIA intelligence officer who specialized in Russia.“They fear U.S. intervention in Ukraine because they fear we are conventionally superior,” she said. “And if they interpret our action as offensive rather than defensive, that is when the viability of Russian statehood would be threatened, in accordance with the Russian national security concept and military doctrine.”

U.S. Might Send More Troops to Europe

Russia is stalled in Ukraine, but I guess that means we must send more troops to Europe:

A senior U.S. defense official said Thursday that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is still considering the possibility of deploying additional American troops to NATO’s eastern flank in Europe as the war in Ukraine rages on.The official said Russia’s military remains stalled outside of Kyiv and “some of their soldiers are suffering from frostbite.””Because they lack the appropriate cold weather gear for the for [sic] the environment that they’re in,” the official said. “In addition to food and fuel, even in terms of personal equipment for some of their troops, they’re having trouble.”The official also spoke about the resilience of Ukraine’s military, saying “we continue to see them defend in a very nimble, agile way.””What we’re starting to see are are [sic] indications that they are they are are [sic] now able and willing to take back territory that the Russians have taken,” the official added.

Poland Reminds Everyone That the West Ignored Warnings

Those who lived behind the Iron Curtain know Russia better than anyone. Too bad everyone ignores them:

The warning comes following Poland’s ambassador to the US saying his country had been aware of Russia’s neo-imperial policy for years but had been ignored.Talking on the PBS NewsHour TV programme on Monday night, Marek Magierowski said: ‘Together with the Baltic states, the Czech Republic and Romania, we warned our western partners about the Kremlin’s increasingly aggressive policy.‘The war in Ukraine did not change our approach to Moscow, as we had no illusions about it.‘But now everyone is aware that there is no going back. to previous relations with Russia.’

Poland Fires Back

Poland isn’t taking crap from Russia:

Polish President Andrzej Duda has compared the actions of Russia’s military in Ukraine to those of Adolf Hitler’s SS troops during World War II.”Today, the Russian army is behaving in exactly the same way — and its leaders like Hitler — as the German SS,” Duda said, according to Poland’s The First News website.”I deeply believe that the world will be able to bring to account the perpetrators of these crimes in order to discourage other potential leaders and commanders who want to carry out their criminal goals,” Duda reportedly added.

U.S. Embassy Claims Russia Kidnapped Over 2,000 Children

Zelenskyy told the Italian Parliament the same thing: “They are torturing and kidnapping children, they are stealing what we have there, robbing everything. This is what happened in Europe last time due to the Nazis when they were occupying other countries.”

Putin Ticking Off the Japanese

Putin just doesn’t care anymore:

Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida has condemned Russia’s decision to suspend negotiations on a post-second world war peace treaty in protest against sanctions imposed on Moscow following its invasion of Ukraine.“Russia’s actions are extremely unjust and totally unacceptable,” Kishida told a Diet committee session on Tuesday.“Sanctions and actions must be carried out resolutely and continuously in co-operation with the international community,” he said.Russia’s foreign ministry on Monday said it withdrew from negotiations regarding the disputed Kuril Islands, criticising Japan for taking “an explicitly unfriendly position and [seeking] to harm the interests of our country”.

Mariupol Destroyed

Mariupol residents have been without food, water, electricity, and gas for almost a month. They refuse to surrender the city to Russia:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this morning that Mariupol has been “completely destroyed,” but his military there has been putting up a fierce fight against Russian troops, according to the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence.”Despite heavy fighting, Ukrainian forces continue to repulse Russian attempts to occupy the southern city of Mariupol,” it said in a tweet.”Russian forces elsewhere in Ukraine have endured yet another day of limited progress with most forces largely stalled in place,” it added.

Putin Patsy Dmitry Medvedev Goes After Poland

This is a sore spot and I’m not being sarcastic. After everything Poland has endured in its entire history it has every right to be paranoid and look over its shoulders.

Dmitry Medvedev, the security council leader and Putin patsy, bashed and threatened Polish leaders in an essay.

I don’t even know where to start with this pile of crap. Medvedev is using the exact language Putin used to justify invading Ukraine.

Medvedev tries to change history (like Putin) because the Red Army invaded Poland two weeks after Hitler. The Red Army only became an “ally” because Hitler invaded Russia.

I cannot:

When it comes to Russia, Poland starts literally writhing in “phantom pains”. Its elites find it too challenging to accept that almost 400 years ago, the Time of Troubles ended with the Polish invaders driven out of the Kremlin, and that later on, the great Commonwealth of Poland failed as well. And that the reason behind all this was not Russia’s scheming, but the internal squabbles, corruption, economic failures and lost battles. And so it went on and on for centuries.Polish propaganda is the most evil, vulgar and shrill critic of Russia; a community of political imbeciles. While in our country, concealing even the darkest pages of our shared history is unacceptable, in Poland, they dream of wiping out even the Second World War. First and foremost, they want to forget the Soviet soldiers who defeated Fascism, drove the occupiers out of Polish cities and prevented them from blowing up Kraków, who freed the prisoners of the Oswiecim and Majdanek extermination camps. Now, history is being re-written, monuments destroyed; instead, the fascist occupation is openly equated to the “Soviet one”. It’s hard to invent rhetoric more deceitful and disgusting, but the Poles succeed.Yet, in Russia, there weren’t – and aren’t – any anti-Polish sentiments. According to sociologists, the citizens of our country treat that people quite friendly. It is impossible to forget the surge of sympathy and compassion in Russia in the aftermath of the plane crash near Smolensk, when a group of high-ranking officials, headed by the Polish President, died. People were bringing flowers to the embassy and Catholic churches, shared their condolences in the media and social networks. I, as the head of state, declared a Day of Mourning in Russia.

Oh, wait. What about the evidence showing Russia had a hand in the plane crash that killed the Polish president?

Do you want WWIII? This is how you get WWIII.

I doubt Poland trusts the West after the betrayal at the Yalta Conference when FDR and Churchill handed Stalin everything he wanted.

Poland was not a Soviet Republic…officially. It was a puppet state with a puppet president controlled by Russia.

Zelenskyy Calls Out NATO

Boom:

I wrote in Monday’s post that NATO has no problem getting involved in conflicts in non-NATO countries except Ukraine.

NATO is scared of Putin. The EU is scared of Putin. The UN is scared of Putin.

Putin Places Spies in Charge of Ukraine on House Arrest

The FSB, the “new” KGB, has spies for former Soviet Republics. Apparently, Putin is ticked off at the spies in charge of spying on Ukraine:

Two members of the FSB, the successor agency to the KGB, who were supposed to have prepped the ground for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, are reportedly under house arrest. Colonel-General Sergei Beseda and his deputy apparently dropped the ball. Or are being blamed for an operation that by most accounts is bogged down.Questions are likely being asked. “Why didn’t Ukrainains [sic] welcome Russian soldiers? Where did the money earmarked [sic] for that operation go? Was it unwisely spent or stolen by those in charge of it?” There were no crowds greeting the invading force with flowers, as some in Russia had anticipated.”It never happened, as we know. And so it’s also about misusing the funds spent on probably imaginary networks of agents,” Andrei Soldatov of the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) tells Fox News. Soldatov is an expert on Russian security services and explains those under arrest are from the Fifth Service of the FSB.”They represent the most sensitive department of the FSB department, which is in charge of espionage in Ukraine. And now it looks like Vladimir Putin finally understood that the intelligence he was given before the invasion was not extremely accurate. And he has started looking around trying to find someone to blame.”
