Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Died

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid died on Tuesday. He was 82 years old.

Reid served in Congress from 1983 to 2017.

Reid announced he had pancreatic cancer in 2018, but it went into remission in 2019.

While Reid was in Congress for a long time he will forever be known for using the “nuclear option” in 2013.

The change ended “the filibuster on executive branch nominees and judicial nominees other than to the Supreme Court.”

The move helped a lot during President Donald Trump’s administration. Then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was able to confirm a lot of judges.
