I wonder if the University of Nebraska will have more success with its courses on social justice than Bucknell University.

Students at the University of Nebraska can show their commitment to racial justice with a new “Racial Justice, Equity & Inclusion” minor.“The minor in racial justice, equity, and inclusion is designed for all students curious about racial justice,” the public university said on its website. “It furnishes students with an academic credential in diversity, equity, and inclusion training that prepares them for success in corporate, government, and nonprofit fields.”Students can begin their journey to learning about racial justice with a spring 2021 class called “How to be an antiracist,” a course with the same name as a popular book by Professor Ibram Kendi of Boston University. The course will “include the history of U.S. racial conflict, whiteness, white fragility, white allyship, white abolitionism, and community action.”Other required courses include “Introduction to African American Studies,” Introduction to Native American Studies,” “Introduction to Latino Studies” and “Introduction to Africa.”The director of the Institute for Ethnic Studies said the idea for the minor came after the death of George Floyd in May 2020 and the subsequent protests.
