McKenzie, Milley, Austin Confirm Biden Received Recommendation to Leave 2,500 Soldiers in Afghanistan
McKenzie: “I was present at the time the discussion occurred and I’m confident the president heard all the recommendations and listened to them very thoughtfully.”
General McKenzie and General Milley and Defense Src. Lloyd Austin confirmed Biden received a recommendation to leave 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan.
McKenzie: “I recommended we maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan. I also recommended earlier in the fall of 2020 we maintain 4,500 at that time. Those are my personal views. I also have a view that the withdrawal of those forces would lead inevitably to the collapse of Afghan military forces and eventually the Afghan government.”
Inhofe asks about presenting the recommendation to Biden.
McKenzie: “I was present at the time the discussion occurred and I’m confident the president heard all the recommendations and listened to them very thoughtfully.”
Under oath, Generals Milley & McKenzie confirmed they recommended against President Biden’s withdrawal timeline and warned him about the impending collapse of the Afghan government.
That contradicts Biden, who claimed “no one said that to me.” pic.twitter.com/BaPEHEFCHU

Sec. Austin told Sen. Cotton:
COTTON: “It’s a simple question, Secretary Austin. He said no senior military leader advised him to leave a small troop presence behind. Is that true or not? Did these officers and General Miller’s recommendations get to the President personally?”
AUSTIN: “Their input was received by the President and considered by the President for sure. In terms of what they specifically recommended, senator, as they just said, they’re not going to provide what they recommended in confidence.”
Last month, Joe Biden claimed that no military leader advised him to leave a small troop presence in Afghanistan.
Today, General Milley and General McKenzie both confirmed their recommendation that 2,500 U.S. troops remain in Afghanistan.

In August, Biden said no military leader advised leaving troops in Afghanistan.
Biden: "No, they didn't."
Biden: "That wasn't true."
Biden: "No. No one said that to me that I can recall."

Biden is no less a filthy liar and traitor than obama and clinton.
The only difference is…. there is no difference.
Sure there is! Biden and Clinton are clean, well-dressed articulate white people.
Bill’s mother was black. That’s how he came to hustle.
Bill’s mother was black. That’s how he came to hustle.
His Daddy?
His daddies were salesmen–both of them.
Joe Biden is articulate?
It’s a figure of speech like wise fool.
Except that Biden can’t remember all of his lies in between bouts of Dementia.
That is because President Dementia has mentally deteriorated to the point that he is no longer a healthy guy.
No one with dementia is a “healthy guy”. In early dementia they may be reasonably functional, but with moderate dementia or worse they are totally incapable of sound judgment or even self-care.
I have a friend whose wife has advanced dementia, sleeps 18 hrs/day. She cannot change her Depens–he must.
Biden is in the moderate dementia category, on the edge of severe. He can still read, but cannot answer questions. He sleeps a lot.
He should be ousted via the 25th Amendment, but his bizarre and incompetent Cabinet (see Austin and Buttygieg) owes their positions to him, so they will not vote to ousthim, since they might be replaced as well.
But can he change his DEPENDS? Does he still know where his private parts are? Must have left them when he was a warrior in Afghanistan fighting the American invaders/Infidel’s!
The issue I have is mental screening followed by pretrial confinement. This is something that is merited in special circumstances and I’m sorry, USMS leadership is absolutely proving his point. Pre-trial confinement counts as triple time. This is petty vindictiveness when all they had to do was accept his resignation and rapidly process him out. They will make an example of him, further proving his point. I’m disgusted with the military in general, and I served for 30 years. While I understand he violated the UCMJ with regards to comments about elected officials and failure to obey, his “superiors ” have made it worse by not acting on his request to resign and now this. This could have gone very differently.
At least this time it’s an officer being “made an example” and not some hapless E2.
The crisis at our Southern border, the loss of billions of dollars of our weapons to the Taliban, the abandonment of our citizens in Afghanistan, the loss of the lives of our troops are NOT due to Joe Biden’s incompetence but rather to his willful incorporation of them in order to damage our country.
Joe Biden needs to be arrested and tried for treason.
I’m divided between the Generals testimony is being accurate and Biden is a liar or the Generals are just covering their asses knowing Biden can’t remember.
The generals testified it was their “personal opinions” that troops remain in Afghanistan, but they would not comment on what they actually advised or advocated to the president. So, they get cover their buts without calling the president a liar, or tried to, or did something different and implied he is.
In all it looked like his generals were throwing him under the bus.
I would like to flip the topic of if Milley should resign. The answer is yes. He said if would have been a political act. But he is the principal military advisor to the president, and there are three manifest possibilities.
The first is that the president took his advice, which resulted in catastrophe. In such a case, he is not serving the president or the nation well, and should resign.
The second is that he gave the president sound advice, which the president ignored and ordered catastrophe over his advice and objections, in which case it is clear he does not hold the confidence of the president who ignores his advice on matters of great importance. In this case, he is ineffective with the president and is not able to guide and advise him correctly and needs to be replaced with someone capable who holds the confidence of the president. To enable, this, Milley should resign.
The third case is that Milley failed to advise the president at all because the president did not seek his advice which relates to a lack of trust and confidence in him by the president (see possibility two above) and should resign, or did not think it was important to advise the president on this matter which would reflect incompetence and demand his resignation.
Which ever it was, this was a failure of high consequence, and however it occurred, Milley failed. He should resign, not out of political protest, but because he is a failure, and further service to the nation is not in the national interest.
Hari Kari time
Milley has got so much fat he would need liposuction first.
Trouble is you posit a functioning POTUS, which Demented Joe is not.
Oh no on this one, no contest, Biden is a liar just can’t remember which lie.
This confirms what rational-minded people had already surmised — dim-witted, tottering, feeble, corrupt, mendacious and Chinese communist-installed puppet/vassal/dhimmi/dotard, Xi-den, or, more aptly, the cabal of Obama cronies/chaperones/home health caretakers/marionette operators controlling Xi-den, were foolishly obsessed with completing the Afghanistan withdrawal prior the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attacks, so that they could have a nice photo-op PR event with which to pat themselves on the back — deleterious consequences to U.S. and allied lives and strategic interests be damned.

Our Manchurian President
He’s not even a man. He’s just churian.
Nice! Well done.
hahahaha! good one!
Well considering the Generals are under oath and the meetings had to have been recorded it’s fairly simple to prove. Unless of course the Resident had all recordings and transcripts Sandy Berger’d…
Meh. This sounds like the wokester brass at the Potemtagon engaging in some serious CYA.
But regardless of who (if anyone) is telling the truth in this case, no one will be held responsible. That is why the US military hasn’t won a war in over three-quarters of a century.
Operation Desert Storm doesn’t count as a war?
You DO realize that we ended up losing that war? Unless you discount the fact that Iraq and Afghanistan are now breeding grounds for Islamic terrorism. We would have been better off to stay out.
Any more “victories” like Desert Storm, and the Islamists will move into the White House.
Operation Desert Storm was kicking Iraq out of Kuwait.
Kuwait has been funding a Qaeda and ISIS, so I don’t think “Kuwait won” is much comfort. Meanwhile the US and the Middle East are worse off than before Desert Storm.
If you win a war, aren’t you supposed to be in a better position? Or are we settling for Pyrrhic victories now? Maybe it is time to admit our involvement in Iraq was an unqualified disaster, no matter if the petro-tyrants in Kuwait are happy.
We left it unfinished. More like a won battle, but not a war.
Does Alabama beating Incarnate Word count as a win?
That is more long lasting.
I understand Hillary Clinton asked, “What difference does it make?”
Well, she’s busy embezzling money from a school.
That school is probably wondering where the money in the cafeteria tip jar suddenly keeps being stolen.
And why the overall student GPA has suddenly tanked despite their paying Clinton for test answers in advance.
Sad joke, huh?

Wait, General McKenzie says that Biden (Fuck You by the way) “listened thoughtfully”? Maybe he was referring to Jill or even Hunter, but as for slow Joe…
Listening thoughtfully as he dozes.
Damn, I’ve used the expression before but this time, the Emperor really has no clothes!
Well, he DOES tend to forget his pants from time to time
“Listened to them thoughtfully?” Try again.
Biden looking thoughtfully is the expression he has on his face when groping little girls.
Please have these military men explain what
‘thoughtfully’ means to sleepy Joe? Can SJB give a rational, logical meaning of ‘thought-fully’ don’t lay your money down on it!
There should be a transcript of that meeting. Either someone is lying, or someone cannot remember what they said. It’s the public’s right to know who/which is the problem. #RELEASETHETRANSCRIPT
here it is…’sir’..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, mr. president sir..ZZZ…psst, does that sound like thunder? or is it snoring?
Just in passing, what basis is there to assume that the members of the JCS, cabinet members, or the President* himself testifying under oath has any relation to the truth or facts?
Subotai Bahadur
Their testifying under oath is related to the truth as closely as hogs are to hogwash.
Obama would never leave his buddy’s behind in such a manner.
but he would run over them with a humvee!
I doubt the Taliban would go along with it, and start attacking US troops. It’s not obvious that’s a win for the US.
Apparently there are gentlemen’s agreements involved, not that they’re gentlemen but that it’s to mutual advantage not to break it.
Of course the purpose of leaving 2500 would be to stop the Taliban takeover. People are bemoaning the natural equilibrium which returned in Afghanistan when we left, so they now say we should have stayed. Which means we would go back in full force if the Taliban tried to remove the Northern Alliance government we put in. That would mean we were still in.
The purpose of leaving the 2500 would be to destroy the armament and make sure all the Americans got out safely. Then they could come home on the last flight.
“I recommended that we maintain 2,500 troops”
McKenzie: “I’m confident that the President heard all the recommendations”
A couple of scenarios here:
1. He’s a lying POS. Totally believable.
2.He dosen’t remember. Sure, he has dementia.
3. Typically anti American. Again, typically Democrat.
All of these are absolutely contemptible.
He was speaking “rhetorically”. Worth a shot.
“…I’m confident the president heard all the recommendations and listened to them very thoughtfully.”
He didn’t have his head down because he was listening, you idiot, he was asleep.
+1 on that. President Melatonin.
I’m glad we’re out, really out. Leaving 2500 in there would just be asking to be dragged back in. The military wanted to stay of course, it’s been their favorite engagement for many years.
And I don’t really care who said what behind the scenes.
And the $80B in high-tech armament was just the “lovely parting gift” all our contestants get.
Take a step back, and look where we are.
We’re on the precipice war. Biden is making Neville Chamberlain look like Superman.
Biden says he can’t recall anything. Implausible and convenient deniability.
Whenever there is video of someone saying “I do not recall…” the following text should be added” TRANSLATION: Yes, but I can’t admit it.” or “TRANSLATION: I plead the 5th!”
I actually believe the generals. These are the same guys who wanted to stay while Trump was POTUS going even as far as to lie to Trump about how many troops we actually had in the country.
I think there is a disconnect between the military and the civilian leadership and it’s time for a purge of the top brass. Every single 2, 3, and 4 star general and admiral has to be shown the door along with many of their kiss-ass hanger-ons in the Pentagon.
