Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington to Honor Dr. Fauci

More adoration for Dr. Fauci, which he will undoubtedly accept. He just loves the spotlight.

Indiana University to honor Fauci with distinguished leadership awardThe Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington has announced it will be honoring Anthony Fauci, the country’s top infectious diseases doctor, with an award for his work in HIV/AIDS prevention and as a leading expert during the ongoing pandemic.According to the school’s announcement, the award, also dubbed the Ryan White Distinguished Leadership Award, honors recipients for their contributions to HIV/AIDS prevention “and for being an exemplary bearer of the standard of excellence and commitment needed to combat HIV/AIDS.”The award was named for the Indiana teen, Ryan White, whose fight against discrimination targeting people living with HIV/AIDS after he was denied admittance to school following his diagnosis garnered national attention in the 1980s.Jeanne White-Ginder, White’s mother, Joycelyn Elders, Greg Louganis, and C. Everett Koop are among past recipients for the reward.Fauci is scheduled to be presented with the award during a virtual ceremony in early December. The school said he will also take in part in a “fireside chat” for the event.“Recipients of the Ryan White Distinguished Leadership Award have demonstrated their solemn promise to scientific methods, access to treatment and educating the public,” William L. Yarber, senior director of the Rural Center for AIDS/STD Prevention and Provost Professor at the school, said in a statement.
