CNN Brings Back Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin After Suspension Over Lewd Act on Zoom

CNN Brings Back Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin After Suspension Over Lewd Act on Zoom

“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers”

Last fall, CNN suspended legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin after someone caught him pleasuring himself on a Zoom call with colleagues from the New Yorker.

Today, CNN welcomed Toobin back to the airwaves. It was a little awkward.

It’s worth noting that less than a month ago, CNN fired former senator Rick Santorum for allegedly racist comments. Now they’re rehiring this guy?

Dominick Mastrangelo writes at The Hill:

Jeffrey Toobin returns to CNN following Zoom call masturbation scandal

Legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin has returned to CNN.

Toobin, a longtime pundit on the network, had been on leave since October after he exposed himself on a Zoom call with fellow staffers at The New Yorker last year, a publication he had worked at for 27 years.

After being suspended from The New Yorker following the incident, Toobin apologized and said he unintentionally exposed himself to his coworkers during a break on the call.

“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers,” Toobin said at the time. “I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video.”

CNN reported on Thursday that Toobin was back as chief legal analyst at the network, and was interviewed by anchor Alisyn Camerota on “CNN Newsroom.”

“I feel like we should address what’s happened in the months since we’ve seen you,” Camerota told Toobin, who joined her in-studio for the interview, before asking him, “To quote Jay Leno, ‘what the hell were you thinking?’ ”

“Well obviously I wasn’t thinking very well or very much,” he replied. “I thought that I had turned off the Zoom call. Now, that’s not a defense. This was deeply moronic and indefensible, but that is part of the story.”

Is #MeToo officially dead?

Sadly, this will probably prove true:

Why would CNN even bring him back? That seems like such an obvious question.

Is there no one else CNN could have hired to do legal analysis on the air?

Once again, it was laughably easy to predict this when they didn’t fire him in the first week.

Same playbook they always run. Run a few angry articles, maybe have a few angry speeches, wait for it to go out of the news cycle, bring them back, and never talk about it again.

They do this again and again and again. Newsom was literally in a picture with blackface/KKK hood and wasn’t forced to resign. Cuomo is a literal murderer.

This is what the Democrats do. They DO NOT hold prominent members of The Party to ANY standard of behavior.

Northam not Newsom but the point stands.

CNN is moving Toobin to the Sports Department where his first assignment will be doing background for the Yanks and the Expos.

Wolf Blitzer: Jeffery, welcome back to CNN. It must be hard to be back live and on the air.
Jeffery Toobin: Wolf, indeed, it has been hard… very hard.
Wolf Blitzer: One thing we at CCN have always appreciated about you is never give flaccid commentary.
Jeffery Toobin: I always try and bring a little excitement to the air, Wolf, thanks.
Wolf Blitzer: Yes, we at CCN appreciate how you are aroused by current events and always have a firm grasp on things, and stand firm when others may go limp.
Jeffery Toobin: Wolf, thanks, you are embarrassing me. Listen, it’s great to be back. Really, I appreciate all the ways CNN has supported me.
Wolf Blitzer: And the way you frame the issues! You give broad unrelenting strokes, and you never tire, even after the situation erupts and explodes, there you remain, standing firm and erect for all to see.
Jeffery Toobin: (Blushing) Wolf, Thank you, but honestly, please, you are embarrassing me. But it’s great to be back live on air. I have so much to show our audience. I promise to show them every inch of who I am. Every inch!

        Booooo! Boo! Booooooo!
        Heh.

Jeffrey! Long time, no see! How’s it hangin’?

Why did they reinstate him? CNN needs a reliable and useful idiot.

Every time I see his face, I can’t help but think of what he did to get suspended. He is forever compromised in my view. I’m sure 90% of Liberals feel the same way – but can’t bring themselves to say it.

Toobin says “I can hand-le it!”

Toobin knocked up a colleague’s daughter and pressured her to kill the baby. Next, he gets caught beating off during a meeting in what’s supposed to be a professional news org. Naturally, Zucker sends mindless Camerota to interview this degenerate POS.

Same network cried foul when Clay Travis said he likes the 1st Amendment and boobs.

“I wasn’t thinking…”

Just thinking with the wrong head.

He’s a democrat. They do these kinds of things.

Jeffry Toobin is just a self-pleasuring microcosm of the liberal-left establishment media circle jerk.

Any one who even thinks that Toobin’s behavior was wrong is part of the great right wing conspiracy.

Come on, man.

When she asked him, “what the hell were you thinking” he should have said, “I was thinking about you Allison.”

They told him don’t you ever come around here
Don’t wanna see your face, you better disappear
The fire’s in their eyes and their words are really clear
So beat it, just beat itYou better run, you better do what you can
Don’t wanna see no blood, don’t be a macho man
You wanna be tough, better do what you canSo beat it, but you wanna be badJust beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin’ how funky strong is your fight
It doesn’t matter who’s wrong or right
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it

CNN is a junk network.

It can’t be that difficult for CNN to find a mediocre legal analyst that won’t choke his chicken during work. Can it?

Any chance he will be interviewing Australian Swimmer Madeline Groves?

Next thing you know, Harvey Weinstein will be doing a regular report on the role of women in Hollywood, Bill de Blabbio will be on their discussing the role of cities in reducing crime, John Brennan, Jim Comey and James Clapper will be doing the 3 Stooges version of life in the I-tell community. All as good as Tube-in-Hand coming back!

Keep your hands where we can see them Toobin.

Regardless of his personal politics and apparently his urgent personal needs, when one isolates his pure legal analysis, I have found Toobin to be accurate and grounded in the law.

If you look at the personal scandals involving sports commentators, this is relatively tame.

I presume CNN was able to re-negotiate Toobin’s contract, essentially compelling him work for next to nothing to proudly and faithfully carry their flag of moral degeneracy.

They will be doing their best to rehabilitate him, but just like a trial witness who has been thoroughly discredited, the public (jury) will never again see him as anything but a lewd degenerate.

I sincerely hope his restored presence will place the final nails in CNN’s coffin. It cannot happen too soon.

What he did entered the language as a verb as well as his name. Fortunately for all the jokesters, this can never be undone.
.

They should hire him and Huma Abedin’s husband to do a show together. They could call it The Two Weiners

In Arizona, toobin’ means floating on a river in your inner toob. Now they’ll have to watch their language.

Heh, gives “tubin'” a whole new meaning.

CNN is completely disgusting, letting this jerk-off back on the air after his public tubin’ reinforces Americans’ negative opinion of the network. I mean, they can’t find one “legal analyst” who doesn’t masturbate during staff/editorial meetings? Not one? I can’t look at him without thinking about him beating his meat while his female colleagues vomited on their keyboards.

Ooooh, I thought I had Zoom video “muted”? Seriously? You thought it was a great idea to whip out your tube and give it a good tubin’ during a staff meeting? I can’t even.

Misogyny, pedophilia, rape, any kind of sexual depravity…and even overt racism is okay….. as long as you are not any kind of conservative. If you are, or if you are not left enough, then you have to be cancelled. We have seen this over and over and over again since the 80’s

I do think The Hill won with this line, though (their tweet, and I think their headline):
“CNN insults #MeToo movement, provides happy ending for Jeffery Toobin”

jeffrey said he expose what else goes on over at cnn……nuff said?

Apparently the only thing you can do to get fired from CNN is be a conservative.

““I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera…”

Seriously? On what planet does this fly? Clearly I’m the outlier. When I was in the Navy I always ran everything through the grandma test. Do I want my grandma to see this on TV.

Beating off just never crossed my radar screen. I mean. And to say I thought I was off camera? Like this is somehow approaching normal behavior. Maybe in a press room. Oh, it was just mistake? Like a normal human being wouldn’t have known better? I don’t have the words. I would hope my grandma would have knifed me for being too stupid to live. Except…

I don’t have the words.

Whoopsie daisy. You caught me. This is so totally normal. Sincerely, Jeff Toobin.

And let’s not forget that this turd knocked up his Jeff Greenfield’s daughter some time ago, while married. A real gem…

Should he not apologize for masturbating while working?
He is only apologizing for being seen, i.e. being cought

UserP in reply to jorgen. | June 12, 2021 at 1:43 pm

Yes, for being caught. They gave him a severe warning and told him he had only nine chances left. And make sure, whatever you do, not to get the evidence on a blue dress

The criteria for success at CNN is how well you push the narrative. Moral standards, judgement, brains, or a conscience all interfere with that task.

What CNN does not seem to appreciate is that Toobin is a gift that will keep on giving.

Alinsky – Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.
