Something smells rotten in China, and it’s not the fish from the Wuhan Seafood Market.
The Daily Mail reported an American professor retrieved files deleted by the NIH containing crucial data from the earliest confirmed COVID patients. It appears the patients came down with the virus well before the infamous “seafood market outbreak” China pointed to as the pathogen point source.
The American professor who spotted their deletion and managed to recover some of the data said they suggested Covid was circulating long before China’s official timeline.He found the early samples of the virus were more evolved than would be expected of a pathogen that had recently jumped from animals to humans — but did not say it gave more weight to the ‘lab leak’ theory.Professor Jesse Bloom, a virologist from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, said he believed China had removed the files to ‘obscure their existence’.British scientists told MailOnline the findings confirm Covid was spreading in people before being linked to wet markets, ‘perhaps months before’.
The cover-up that Bloom discovered appeared in a scientific report, ‘Recovery of deleted deep sequencing data sheds more light on the early Wuhan SARS-CoV-2 epidemic’.
Forty-five positive samples had originally been uploaded to the National Institute of Health‘s (NIH) Sequence Read Archive by the Wuhan University in early March 2020.The NIH is a US Government agency responsible for biomedical and public health research.The samples were published as part of a study into diagnosing Covid patients using PCR tests – just days before the Chinese Government issued an order requiring approval of the publication of all coronavirus data.Professor Bloom noted all 45 samples have since been pulled from the database, with ‘no plausible scientific reason for the deletion’.He said the most likely explanation was to ‘abuse’ and ‘obscure’ the truth about the origins of the pandemic.
Fox News reported the National Institutes of Health (NIH) confirmed the deletion:
The NIH confirmed that it deleted the sequences after receiving a request from a Chinese researcher who had submitted them three months earlier.”Submitting investigators hold the rights to their data and can request withdrawal of the data,” the NIH said in a statement.
Meanwhile, China says the Wuhan Institute of Virology deserves a Nobel Prize.
China is calling for the Wuhan Institute of Virology to win a Nobel Prize, while the US is investigating whether it leaked the novel coronavirus.Zhao Lijian, a top spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry, in a press conference last Thursday criticized people for assuming that the virus originated in Wuhan because it was first found there, and dismissed the theory that the virus was made in the lab and had escaped.”The genome sequence of COVID-19 was first identified by Chinese scientists, but that does not mean Wuhan is the source of the coronavirus, nor can it be inferred that the coronavirus was made by Chinese scientists,” Zhao said.He later added that “the team in Wuhan should be awarded the Nobel Prize in medicine for their research on COVID-19, instead of being criticized.”
Really? As China appears to have bioengineered the virus in the first place, of course, it would have been the first to produce the genomic sequence!
But in a world where Barack Obama deserved a Nobel Peace Prize, perhaps there is a case for awarding the Wuhan labs for their “achievement.” However, a China win reduces the science-based prize to a mockery of its original intention. Moreover, it would confirm that China purchased those on the Nobel award committees.
