U.S. Special Operations Command’s new chief of diversity and inclusion investigated over social media posts

U.S. Special Operations Command recently installed a new chief of diversity and inclusion, continuing it’s long march to full woke.https://twitter.com/USSOCOM/status/1375059174892126209?Fox News host Tucker Carlson followed-up this announcement with an analysis about how the US military is prioritizing social justice over national security:

Special Operations Command is very significant in the U.S. military, and in our country. It oversees Delta Force, the SEAL teams and the rest of our most-celebrated, best-trained and most lethal war-fighters. The tweet announced that a man called Richard Torres-Estrada is now the, “Chief of Diversity & Inclusion” of America’s Special Forces. They included his picture with the announcement. Then, at the very top of its website, the Special Operations Command included a link to its extensive new “diversity and inclusion strategic plan.” The one thing we know about that plan is it will result in the dramatic lowering of standards within our elite ranks. It probably already has. How will that make America safer? The generals never said. You couldn’t find that on the website. Instead, they explained that “all of us understand that diversity and inclusion are operational imperatives.” They didn’t say how, they just said they’re imperatives. This is the operation that Richard Torres-Estrada will be running.

Keep in mind, “Special Ops” include groups like the US Navy Seals, the Army “Green Berets”, Marine Raider battalions and Air Force Special Operations Wings. The social justice warriors now in charge of defense decisions were also inundated with rather robust opinions sharing Carlson’s views about the senselessness of this position, especially those with experience in the military.

An in-depth look at Torres-Estrada quickly ensued. A review of Richard Torres-Estrada’s social media history showed some posts were…problematic.

The new chief of diversity and inclusion for U.S. Special Operations Command is under investigation for controversial social media posts, including one that compared former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler, according to the Pentagon.John Kirby, the chief Pentagon spokesman, said Monday that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has been notified by Gen. Richard Clarke, the SOCOM commander, of the investigation into the posts made by Richard Torres-Estrada.

Torres-Estrada’s Facebook posts were a source of concern.

The well-circulated meme juxtaposes a doctored photo of Hitler appearing to hold up a book resembling a Bible with a genuine photograph of Trump holding a Bible in front of St. John’s Church across from the White House. The Trump photograph was taken June 2, 2020, after police and National Guard members used tear gas on peaceful protesters so he could walk to the church.Hitler is not holding anything in the original, unaltered photograph, as displayed on Getty Images’ website. In another post that garnered much criticism over the weekend, Torres-Estrada shared a cartoon last May showing police arresting the fairy-tale Three Bears while taking a statement from Goldilocks. The meme is captioned, “If you still don’t understand how racism works, remember SHE broke into THEIR house. #StopRacism.”He also shared an image of Trump last July with multiple derogatory quotes about him from former members of his Cabinet superimposed, and a mocking “missing” flyer for Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in February.

As this social justice drama plays out, Taiwan is reporting a large incursion of Chinese fighter planes in its airspace.

Ten Chinese military aircraft including fighter jets entered the southwestern corner of Taiwan’s air defence identification zone on Monday, the island’s defence ministry said, in a further escalation of tension across the sensitive Taiwan Strait.Taiwan’s air force deployed missiles to “monitor” the incursion, the island’s defence ministry said, without elaborating. It also said its planes warned the Chinese aircraft over the radio.
