Trump Farewell Address: ‘The Movement We Started is Only Just Beginning’
“We restored the idea that in America, no one is forgotten – because everyone matters and everyone has a voice.”
President Donald Trump spoke about his economy and the fact that he did not start any new wars during his time in office in his farewell address.
He began:
My fellow Americans: Four years ago, we launched a great national effort to rebuild our country, to renew its spirit, and to restore the allegiance of this government to its citizens. In short, we embarked on a mission to make America great again — for all Americans.
As I conclude my term as the 45th President of the United States, I stand before you truly proud of what we have achieved together. We did what we came here to do — and so much more.
Trump did not name President-elect Joe Biden, but wished luck upon his administration.
He also denounced the Capitol Hill riots: “All Americans were horrified by the assault on our Capitol. Political violence is an attack on everything we cherish as Americans. It can never be tolerated.”
Trump thanked his wife Melania, his family, Vice President Mike Pence, and other staff. He also thanked the Secret Service and America:
I also want to take a moment to thank a truly exceptional group of people: the United States Secret Service. My family and I will forever be in your debt. My profound gratitude as well to everyone in the White House Military Office, the teams of Marine One and Air Force One, every member of the Armed Forces, and state and local law enforcement all across our country.
Most of all, I want to thank the American people. To serve as your President has been an honor beyond description. Thank you for this extraordinary privilege. And that’s what it is — a great privilege and a great honor.
Trump went on to list his accomplishments, which happened because of “millions of hardworking patriots.” The accomplishments include:
Biden plans on a new immigration plan on his first day in office. Trump included a dig at that idea probably so Biden couldn’t blame Trump if something goes wrong:
We proudly leave the next administration with the strongest and most robust border security measures ever put into place. This includes historic agreements with Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, along with more than 450 miles of powerful new wall.
Trump lauded the movement that brought him to office in 2016 and promised it’s only the beginning:
Now, as I prepare to hand power over to a new administration at noon on Wednesday, I want you to know that the movement we started is only just beginning. There’s never been anything like it. The belief that a nation must serve its citizens will not dwindle but instead only grow stronger by the day.
As long as the American people hold in their hearts deep and devoted love of country, then there is nothing that this nation cannot achieve. Our communities will flourish. Our people will be prosperous. Our traditions will be cherished. Our faith will be strong. And our future will be brighter than ever before.
Trump concluded: “I go from this majestic place with a loyal and joyful heart, an optimistic spirit, and a supreme confidence that for our country and for our children, the best is yet to come.”

Comments
I am looking forward to doing what I can promote Trump’s initiative.
The Great Reset Reset is coming.
The Great Leap? They have evolved from one-child (i.e. minority choice) to selective-child (i.e. delegated choice) and concentration/cancellation/reeducation camps for deplorables. In retrospect, selective-girl was a bad choice, a wicked solution, that left excess males. Here’s to progress and a global consensus. Labor and environmental arbitrage, too.
As far as his comments on “political violence” what does he suggest when a fraudulent election is ignored by our prosecutors, or elected officials and our courts?
The left has descended to lows only seen in banana republics, including liberal use of violence. They are playing with fire.
He’s gotta throw that in there to counter the bullshit from the Democrat propaganda machine MarkS.
Kinda wish that Trump would grant a pardon to Hunter Biden for just one crime (not a blanket pardon)
A) If Hunter accepted the pardon, he would basically admit guilt
B) It would not eliminate prosecution for other crimes.
C) the media would have to cover the Pardon – The media would have trouble explaining away the pardon.
Consultant, influence peddler, and [underage] friends with “benefits”. Forward!
I kind of hope he pardons Julian Assange just to see who ducks for cover.
…and Snowden
Snowden gave US intel to the ChiComms. Like Bradley Manning, he really did commit treason.
Here’s the thing: Hillary, Biden, that Kenyan, they’ve all done worse.
But Snowden and Assange, they told us what the deep state was doing, that we did not know. Perhaps suspected, but did not know.
That knowledge has great value.
None of the “major” players would run it live, you know, in case he was instructing us to go bat shit violent
I felt like he was a hostage up there.
He is done, there will be no 2024, he and his family are just going to try to survive.. The left wants him in jail… for having the Gaul to run and win
I’m sorry, I hate the left, I hate everyone who voted for the turd, and mostly the people who put together the cheating…because President Trump won, and we all know it.
Good bye, Mr. President, thank you for a job well done, thank you for loving our country and the Constitution, thank you for loving us.
May God bless and keep you and yours.
I would give you infinite thumbs up, if I could!! Very well said!
While what you say is possible. I don’t think Trump will give up that easily. There are so many perfectly legal things that can be done to create very interesting times for these cretins.
Your assuming some court will take his case..
We saw how well it worked for election issues, : (
Did I say anything about courts? There are many ways to create interesting times.
I don’t think they’ll have greater luck putting him in jail, than they did when he was prez.
I mean, they have gone after the man with a fine tooth comb…. Nothing but jaywalking to find.
That was John Kerry. Except for the part about winning.
It’s a travesty that what might have been given 4 More Years will be lost as everything he has done will try and be wiped out by Slo Joe’s handlers.
They will try, but I don’t think that they can stop what Trump has created, hope that the swamp will be reigned in. I have had a taste of something I wanted for over a decade, and I damn well want more.
You’re talking like Trump has something to lose. It’s not him that is going to lose, it’s us.
Still, we can only hope he stays at the forefront, because the fake momentum of the left is going to stop swinging. That piece of human excrement McConnell (or his ilk) are ever going to step in.
The GOP must be put down like a sick dog. We MUST start a new party.
Any party that has as its members McConnell, Rove, Romney, Sasse, etc. is bullshit from the start.
Fine, Fine, Fine….. Do you know what it takes to get third party candidates on ballots? There are thousands and thousands of ballot spots…..
Signatures, thousands of them, thousands for each office.
Do you remember what everyone said about PDJT running for president?
If we remain with the GOP, we will NEVER win a national election again. EVER.
If we ditch the GOP and run our own candidates and do a HORRIBLE job of it, we MIGHT one day win a national election.
Your way is the losing way. My way is hope.
Sorry, downvote was not intentional.
Maybe the best way to practice on winning, is to practice on Rinos? Most certainly they do deserve it.
All Lives Matter. Baby… Fetal-American Lives Matter. The exquisite controversy.
The American dream: Pro-Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
The best is yet to come. I’m not seeing it.
It seems to me Trump is nearly dead in the water politically. His own VP, House Minority Leader, and former Senate Majority leaders won’t see him off as he leaves Washington, D.C.
Moreover, I’ll be greatly surprised should the Senate not convict him of the single Impeachment Article. If he is, they’ll likely pass a measure whereby he’s barred from holding any public office. And, finally, I think there will be continual movements to marginalize him politically, as well as any of those whom he supports.
It’s a sad time inasmuch as there was such hope. Yet, for it to be enduring another four years was really necessary. Now, at least for quite some years, it may be ever more difficult to challenge the “powers that be.”
Because they are chicken shit. Trump does not have to be in office to accomplish good, I would rathe he had another term, but even if he doesn’t, he can still drive change. The only problem is will his health hold up.
I have my doubts what he can do now. Nevertheless, I open to being pleasantly surprised. For sure!
“Tt seems to me Trump is nearly dead in the water politically. His own VP, House Minority Leader, and former Senate Majority leaders won’t see him off as he leaves Washington, D.C….”
It is THEY who are dead in the water politicly. The goddam Republican party is US. We cannot be that stupid to sign on with them again – even after McConnell’s latest shove of a stick up our asses.
GET OUT OF THE GOP.
Then, individuals ought to be hitting the ground running NOW! Otherwise, 2022 will be here before we know it and it’ss be the same ole’ song and dance, one I’m utterly fed up with.
This. Tomorrow. Announce you’re running for office, those of you that are.
What is the difference if the GOP wins the House in 2022??
None!
Absolutely, Fine R. That syrupy voice of Pence’s used to bother me, now it makes me want to puke. I could smash that smug self regarding face right in.
I used to defend McConnell and try to blur over his China ties because of the judges, now I just see CHINA. The board-face Senator Murkowski from Alaska used to bother me, now I’d give a lot to see her humiliated. Romney? Contemptible, envious little t..d and a very bad dye job to boot.
No way I’m the only one.
Things move fast, and change can be sudden. The Junta’s bullshit stories don’t stick anymore. Mcconnell has just done more for the Trump movement than he could imagine. Our hatred for his treasonous ass just refilled our MAGA tanks.
It seems to me Trump is nearly dead in the water politically. His own VP, House Minority Leader, and former Senate Majority leaders won’t see him off as he leaves Washington, D.C.
——
And they will never win another election
Trump can turn it on and off like a water faucet. Just give it a little time.
He can return to the top with one rally.
But he has to be fearful of what they do to his family
Oh, they will destroy his business as much as they can.. and are… but he wants his children to survive and prosper
He gave everything he had to us, everything
Gonzo, I don’t believe Trump is fearful. What he is is cagey, planful, secretive when it facilitates his plans, and a very long-term planner. He can wait and wait. I agree that he wants to protect his family. But cowering in a corner with them and trying to be invisible is a lot less protection that standing in front and waving a sword.
Remember Kavanaugh. The first time in my fairly extended life that I saw a President *get in front* of a nominee under attack.
I refuse to see Trump as a fearful little man. Some ancient warrior, Greek or Roman, said “Tell them all that I died facing my enemies”. That’s Trump. It’s not that they can’t kill him– it’s that it will cost them very dear.
It’s quite possible a conviction by the Senate will give even moderate public officials second thoughts about giving permits for such rallies. Perhaps, my analysis is off the mark, yet I perceive him as being in a rather weak and vulnerable position.
It remains to be seen what he might accomplish given the constraints likely to be imposed upon him.
They have no choice about giving permits for rallies. They have to be strictly viewpoint-neutral. (And, in a traditional public forum, also content-neutral, but that’s not relevant here.)
Permits can and are denied, even for political rallies. While difference in political viewpoints is not a valid one, there any number of reasons one can be denied
President Donald J. Trump hasn’t lied to the American people. Love him or hate him, he’s been honest. Sometimes one has to listen to his message versus simply hearing his words. His words lately leave room for interpretation either way, but deliberately leaving out the phrase “biden administration” tells me everything I need to know. PDJT told us, warned the democrats he would not let a stolen election stand. He told the democrats he knew they would cheat and knew how they would cheat. That 100% means he has the evidence. But this isn’t really all about a stolen election, that’s just a chapter in a book. I don’t know how this is going to play out, but I believe something so big and compelling has to occur that even the most rabid TDS’r will have their “Say it ain’t so, joe!” moment.
The question is why he hasn’t released the evidence. This is no time to play nice, and there is no litigation to protect.
My answer to this is that Trump, like most businessmen, keeps his cards very close to his chest. His previous business dealings show he doesn’t act until every piece is in place, and sometimes that took years.
As to this is no time to play nice, Trump doesn’t play.
As for criticizing what he does– you are joining a long, long line of tiny minds who think they know better. Why not wait a year, then start carping?
Hate Trump, and you are either a useful idiot or you are in on the corruption and treason. Like mcconnell. Like john roberts.
