First Lady Melania Trump’s Chief of Staff Stephanie Grisham resigned tonight after the violence at the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters.
Grisham was the first person to resign. Reports indicate others have as well and higher-ranking members are thinking about it.

“It has been an honor to serve the country in the White House. I am very proud to have been a part of Mrs. Trump’s mission to help children everywhere, and proud of the many accomplishments of this Administration,” Grisham said.Grisham served as the first lady’s communications director and chief of staff, with a brief stint as the White House press secretary in between. Her resignation came in response to pro-Trump rioters storming the Capitol building, CNN reported.The first lady has not publicly commented on the mobs at the Capitol, which came after President Trump urged them to go protest the certification of electoral votes making Joe Biden the next president.
Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews resigned.
