Online Anti-Racism Training Launched at Spalding University
“will teach concepts of cultural humility and restorative practices”
It’s no longer enough to not be a racist. You must now be actively anti-racist.
WDRB News reports:
Spalding University launches online anti-racism training
Spalding University is launching an online training program in anti-racism.
In a release on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the university says the program will teach concepts of cultural humility and restorative practices as a means to bring about positive social change. The half-day and full-day courses will be led by university faculty and staff.
The program will be available nationally to individuals and groups through virtual sessions scheduled to begin in late January. Enrollment is now open.
On MLK Jr. Day, Spalding announces it is launching a new online professional development and training program in antiracism – Restorative Practices for the Antiracist Journey. https://t.co/Kh5ZE3jyfI (1/3)

Nopity nope nope. And do I even want to know what a “restorative practice” is?
LOL “cultural humility”…why do I get the feeling any standard of this farce won’t be evenly applied.
Seriously, the school is located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Its student body is 67% female, 82% instate from Kentucky, 33% non-white or multi-racial, and 1% international students. Most important, 99% receive financial aid.
This school is so small and impoverished that there is not a BSU chapter to “demand” social justice from its administration.
Given the school’s traditions, anti-racism could easily take root there. I just hope that they teach “cultural humility” and “kindness” toward everyone, not just people who align with Prof. Kendi.
