Macalester College President Offers to Bail Out Students Arrested in Protests
“Any currently enrolled student who participates in civil disobedience and needs help with bail or a fine they cannot afford can seek reimbursement by emailing me”
This is going to endear her to a lot of students on campus, particularly those most likely to protest.
FOX News reports:
Minnesota college president offers to bail out students arrested in protests
A college president in Minnesota offered Thursday to help cover the costs of bail for any student arrested during protests related to the 2020 presidential election.
Macalester College President Suzanne Rivera said she “care[s] deeply about both the wellbeing of our students and their right to practice civil disobedience.” The school official said she wanted to “affirm” that students “have the support of Macalester in various ways.”
“Any currently enrolled student who participates in civil disobedience and needs help with bail or a fine they cannot afford can seek reimbursement by emailing me,” Rivera wrote on Twitter.
Macalester is located close to Minneapolis, one of several U.S. cities where protestors took to the streets as efforts to complete ballots in battleground states stretched beyond Election Day. More than 600 people were arrested in Minneapolis after staging an anti-Trump protest temporarily shut down Interstate 94.

Have they offered to reimburse the city for police overtime? Have they offered to support the innocent business owners whose livelihood was destroyed by these thugs? Are they paying medical bills for the innocent people these thugs are roughing up or killing?
Clowns like that see every business as something to grind under their heel. Every business a Gibson’s.
What about students kicked out of college for having a contrary opinion to most Dems.
Is this a private college? Where are these bail funds coming from? Her own pocket?
As long as she is using her personal funds, who cares? If she is using money from the college, then she needs to be investigated, arrested, charged and jailed for theft, misappropriation of funds, fraud, and/or whatever other charges are deemed to be appropriate.
