The modern depiction of scythes isn’t right. They’re built so that the blade lies flat on the ground when the scythe is held at waist level; and so that when moved along the ground the blade mostly slices but also uniformly advances into what’s being cut, so the heel of the blade is nearer the operator than the tip.
The blade is usually curved in the short direction as well, for strength with lightness (European scythe).
The death symbolism was the idea of harvest – the grim reaper touches the victim with the scythe, which is right for how little effort a scythe takes.
I’ve been cutting my acre of yard with a scythe for 20 years (pleasant exercise). Being able to see a scythe won’t work stands right out, if you’ve spent time adjusting them.
For God’s sake why??? When I was young and stupid, I tried cutting a field of oats with a scythe. After about 1/8 acre, I was a broken man. I couldn’t stand up straight and both my hands were bloody. I called a man with a tractor and a sickle bar mower. I still have the scythe to remind me not to ever do that again.
And the stave has a protuding handle 2/3rds of the way up, perpendicular to the blade, while the stave’s bottom half is curved to better conform to the operator’s hip.
To swing, the leading hand grips the handle and pivots the stave against the opposing hip.
Meanwhile in the real world … NYPD retirements are up over 400% … The commie mayor has cut 1 billion from police budget … Homicides are up by incredible numbers in the city and the democrats are focused on removing pancake syrup from store shelves … To save black lives

I like it the way it is.. and I owned an antique scythe.
The symbolism is perfect, Cuomo is a grim reaper.

Don’t you mean the snath?
A more glaring omission is the donkey does not have its finger in its nose.
