“He was not aware of any direct contact with any infected person.”

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul tested positive for Wuhan coronavirus. He is the first senator to receive the diagnosis.

Republican Florida Rep. Mario Diaz-Ballart and Democratic Utah Rep. Ben McAdams tested positive last week.

Other members of Congress put themselves in quarantine since the outbreak began. None of those tested positive.

I understand he did not show symptoms. He’s probably not alone in this. This is one way these viruses spread.

I also hope he gets well soon.

I am wondering if these politicians have not been targeted with planted viruses. Paul is a medical doctor unlike Biden’s wife who has a doctorate in education and knows very well how to avoid normal germs.

Honestly, I think this was running around a LONG time – months – before we heard about it the end of January. I know that I had it in the UK the first week in February when I ended up in the hospital with an unusual pneumonia. (Diagnosed retrospectively from symptoms and test results of other things. Wasn’t tested for Covid19 because I hadn’t been anywhere near China or anyone who had been.)

However, Wuhan is a big transportation hub between the outside world & China for both people and goods. There is a steady stream of corporate types from virtually every big company present in the US back and forth regularly. It wouldn’t be the least unusual for some of them to bring the virus with them and then to spread it to politicians.

Actually, from that evidence, you don’t know that you had it at all and this retroactive diagnosis (if real) is not definitive in any way. There are literally thousands of known pathogens out there that can cause the same symptoms and probably millions of unknown ones. We have a few needles picked out of the haystack. There are millions of needles in a trillion tons of hay.

Wuhan CV is only different precisely because it wasn’t running around a long time before this…therefore, herd immunity was non-existent. That’s why so many people in Italy are dying while other countries like the UK and the Netherlands are starting to take the “develop herd immunity” approach.

One more thing: when the shortages pass, you could theoretically be able to be tested for immunity. If you have a high antibody titer against COVID 19, then it’s more likely that your February illness was the Wuhan CV. It still doesn’t prove it, but then it is much more likely. (Assuming you can find a doctor or insurance company that finds such a test worthwhile since it would be more for research purposes than anything else)

Of course, this test will be useless a year or so from now if you get a vaccine.

You don’t need to tell me about the thousands of known pathogens. I’m a medical scientist and microbiologist LOL.

They came to this conclusion from a mountain of chest x-rays, ekg and other heart tests, a stack of arterial blood gases and much, much more.

Clearly you’ve never taken a medical class. Retroactive diagnosis is a standard learning tool.

Do they have a specific lab result saying you have the COVID-19 virus, or that you have the antibodies to it in your blood? If they do, then, yes, we can say you have it or had it. If they don’t, it’s just a notion.

Jill biden has a “doctorate in education”….

Given all the corruption being exposed surrounding biden and his family members, can you imagine the veracity of jill biden’s degree? It’s probably has the same veracity as obama’s columbia degree. (Jill biden got her degree in delaware, where that POS biden is senator. Wonder if she ever went to class, and her degree was mailed to her.)

Rand Paul is in greater danger of a violent assault from an angry neighbor than Wuhan Corona Virus.

He’s in danger from the Kung Flu BECAUSE of the idiot who assaulted him; he had lung damage and I think he lost part of one lung, which makes him more susceptible to this Chinese virus. He’s ALSO in general danger from the assorted Leftists loons running around loose, lb1901. >:-(

It’d be interesting to analyze whether the assailant in Sen. Paul’s case would be anyway liable for the proximate cause the Senator’s demise, if he should secumb to the virus.

That is: whether this virus was aggravated as a result of his being an injured person now in a weakened condition as a result of the injury to his lungs caused by his physical attacker.

    HEAR HEAR!

    SPOT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rand Paul is a good guy: lots of integrity, and very balanced.

He should cough all over the rest of the senate. Perhaps we’ll get rid of enough of the scum infesting it to return our country to Americans instead of the Chi-Comms.

He’s a sufficiently big name that the press will probably tell us if he actually develops symptoms.

The persistent problem of false positives has—so far as I’ve noticed—been publicly ignored in all the excitement.
