Two things are going on:
One this is being blown out of proportion by the deep powers that be because they think it will stop Trump. There is literally NOTHING they won’t do…they hope for mass death which when it doesnt happen will devastate them.
And second people have lost their minds…its ridiculous it’s less deadly than the yearly flu we experience.
In my opinion, it is premature to conclude it is “no big deal”. Italy is a mess. The interesting point you suggest is that if it really turns out to be no big deal, Trump might be re-elected with ease. Results will vastly exceed expectations set by the MSM. Everyone keeping social distance and self-isolation is the key to cutting the new case load to very low levels in 2 weeks or so. Young people on Spring Break is not.
Seen links about some guy banned by Amazon – he hoarded a crapload boatload of TP and hand sanitizer, and was supposedly price gouging. It hinted there’s more than one person in that situation.
Not surprising, really. We used to call that “initiative”.
The idiot went all over Tennessee and neighboring states buying up literally every bottle of hand sanitizer he could find – more than 17,000 of them while his partner in crime stayed home to receive the deliveries from stuff ordered online.
We’ve never called that “initiative.” We’ve called it profiteering.
“Profiteering” is just a nasty word jealous socialists use for those who risked their capital in order to provide for a shortage. See The Wealth of Nations, chapter 30
I read an article about this guy that stated he had sold over 800 bottles of $0.99 soap or sanitizer for $8/per bottle before Amazon shut him down. Now, I looked it up and TN has anti-price gouging laws from about 2002. I don’t know how that applies in this day of internet sales, but since he bought them in TN and shipped them from TN….I rather hope there is a case there. Having lived a good part of my life in hurricane prone states, I feel rather strongly that profiteering in a crisis really should be heavily discouraged.
I was in Walmart on Friday and they only had one crate of the really cheap generic brand of toilet paper left. There were about a half-dozen people in that aisle all just standing there staring at it and debating if they were that desperate. LOL!

Worldometers reports deaths in seven countries yesterday.
Fourteen in China, seven in the rest of the world. Could be a fluke, but it doesn’t look like an exponentially growing death rate.

Love the man bun….
Worldometers appears to update during the day. Iran just reported, and they appear to be a test case for what happens when a country does nothing.
