Say what you will about Stacey Abrams. She may have failed in her 2018 bid to become governor of Georgia, but it certainly didn’t damage her sense of self-esteem.
She is planning a presidential run in the future, but in the meantime, she’s happy to accept an offer to be vice president. She made the comments during a recent appearance on The View.
Quinn Scanlan reports at ABC News:
Stacey Abrams ‘absolutely’ wants to run for president one day, but says she’d accept a VP slot in 2020Stacey Abrams, the former Georgia gubernatorial candidate who’s now focusing on tackling voter suppression head on, said she “absolutely” sees herself running for president one day, but for the 2020 cycle, she “would be honored” to run for vice president with whoever the Democratic nominee is.”Why should we not want someone to have the power to fix the problems and the brokenness that we have?” Abrams told the hosts of ABC’s “The View.” “I want to do good, and there is no stronger platform than president of the United States. And that’s a position I want to one day hold.”There’s been a lot of veep buzz around Abrams, who served as minority leader in the Georgia House of Representatives. She said if asked, she would join the Democratic ticket — but added that no one has asked her, yet.”It would be doing a disservice to every woman of color, every woman of ambition, every child who wants to think beyond their known space for me to say no or to pretend, ‘Oh, no, I don’t want it,'” she said. “Of course I want it. Of course I want to serve America. Of course I want to be a patriot and do this work.”

During the same appearance, Abrams joined her fellow Democrats in complaining about the Electoral College, then went on to explain how she could end the institution by going around the United States Constitution.
Kristine Marsh reports at NewsBusters:
Stacey Abrams Tells Eager ‘View’ She’d ‘Go Around Constitution’ to End ‘Racist’ Electoral CollegeThe media is still pathetically pining over Stacey Abrams. Last week on The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg eagerly asked Joe Biden if he would make the failed gubernatorial candidate, his VP pick. On Monday’s show, the hosts petitioned Abrams herself to run, not just for VP, but also for president…Co-host Sunny Hostin wanted to hear more about how how our electoral system is racist. After asking Abrams how she would fix the Iowa caucus, she asked the following:”One more question. You’ve called the electoral college a racist and classist system. Can you just break it down in the way, you know how to?”After she argued it was an antiquated racist system that we needed to get rid of, Joy Behar complained she would have a hard time with Republicans in power. Amazingly, Abrams calmly explained how the left could “jerry rig the system and go around the Constitution” by using the popular vote, because they “didn’t have time,” to make a Constitutional amendment. This question was edited out of the aired show but The View’s Twitter account promoted it online.
